Sadie E. Smith
Tecumseh resident Sadie E. Smith died Thursday in Oklahoma City. She was 87.
Mrs. Smith was born on March 19, 1912, in Shawnee, to Webster and Lilly (Condry) Whitehead.
She attended Shawnee schools.
She married Perry A. Smith on Oct. 31, 1933, in Shawnee.
Mrs. Smith spent the majority of her married life in Oklahoma City, and moved to Tecumseh in 1976.
She worked as a nurse's aid at several Oklahoma City hospitals before retiring in 1976.
She was a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation and attended the Shawnee Seventh Day Adventist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Smith; a son, Donnie Smith; her parents, Webster and Lilly Whitehead; four brothers, and two sisters.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Edd Brownfield, Lefors, Texas; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronnie D. and Barbara Smith, Apison, Tenn.; Lynn Smith, Oklahoma City; a sister, Stella Holt, Rim Rock, Ariz.; eight grandchildren, Rhonda Klein, Karen Keith, Roger Smith, Randy Smith, Karen Smith, David Smith, Amy Hocker and Jennifer McMains; and two great-grandchildren, Kyle and Kaylee Keith.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Cooper Funeral Chapel in Tecumseh, with Pastor Jerry States of the Shawnee Seventh Day Adventist Church officiating.
Burial will be in Tecumseh Cemetery.
Cleo Pierce Moore
Tecumseh resident Cleo Pierce Moore died Thursday in Tecumseh. She was 87.
Mrs. Moore was born July 23, 1912, in Clinton, the daughter of Frank and Loretta Bell (Morrel) Jones.
She married Earl Pierce on Aug. 24, 1929. He preceded her in death on March 29, 1971. She later married Arlous Moore on Oct. 6, 1972.
She worked as a sales clerk for several years at Montgomery Ward in Duncan.
Mrs. Moore was a member of the First Christian Church, and had lived in Tecumseh since 1991.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlous Moore; two sons, Eldon and Darryel Pierce; parents, Frank and Loretta Jones; and three brothers, Tom, Bill and Reece Jones.
Survivors include her three grandchildren, Susie Bowman, Wagoner; Kelly Neel; David Pierce, Longview, Wash.; 10 great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law, Reva Jones, Oklahoma City; Ann Jones, Tecumseh; Wanzalee Scott, Stratford; Joyce Stephens, Oklahoma City; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services
will be 10 a.m. Monday in Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
Louie F. Dockery
Louie F. Dockery, Seminole, died Thursday in an Oklahoma City hospital. He was 79.
Dockery was born Feb. 23, 1920, in Harjo to Robert Lee and May (West) Dockery.
He graduated from Harjo High School, and was a lifelong area resident.
He married Francis Pauline Quisenberry on Feb. 2, 1947, in Seminole.
Dockery worked as a heavy equipment operator for Concho Construction Company and C.C. Watts Construction in Oklahoma City. He retired in 1985.
He served with the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Francis Dockery, June 24, 1988; his parents, Robert and May Dockery; and a sister, Bernice Dockery.
Survivors include his son, Randy Dockery, Seminole; a daughter, Paula Harvey, Oklahoma City; two brothers, Lee Dockery, Johnsontown; Jake Dockery, Wewoka; sister, Genevia Black, Earlsboro; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services
will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
Jane (McMullen) Corona Marler
Seminole resident Jane (McMullen) Corona Marler died Thursday at Seminole Medical Center. She was 55.
She was born Sept. 22, 1944, in Seminole to Patrick Newton and Opal (Vanbrunt) Newton.
She married John David Marler July 22, 1994, in Wewoka.
Mrs. Marler was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, John D. Marler, of the home; sons, Albert Corona, Seminole, and Kenneth Corona, Ardmore; daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and David Haskins, Seminole; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, John McMullen in 1978.
Graveside services
will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Little Cemetery, Seminole, with the Rev. Manuel Rivas under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Robert L. Davis
Robert L. "Bob" Davis of Shawnee died Friday in Shawnee. He was 74.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Sharon Baptist Church with the Rev. Clint Dawkins officiating. Burial will be in Tecumseh Cemetery.
Other information is pending and will be announced by Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
Mitchel Martin
Mitchel Martin died Thursday in Prague. He was 77.
He was born July 31, 1922, in Porter, Texas. He was the son of Frank and Carrie (Camillo) Martin.
He lived in the Paden area for 48 years and was a resident of Prague at the time of his death. He was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Prague. He worked at Tinker Air Force Base, farmed, worked as a commercial fisherman and was a mechanic.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a disabled veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, two brothers and one son-in-law, Henry Arthur.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Frank Martin, Prague, Gordon and Becky Martin, Prague, Bobby and Regina Martin, Prague, Robert and Rhonda Martin, Paden, David and Joy Martin, Paden, and Tony and Melissa Martin, Prague; daughters and sons-in-law, Lavern and Joe Podest, Prague, Linda Arthur, Prague, Irlene Martin, Prague, and Doris and Gary Cordell, Sparks; brother, Frank Martin Jr., Port Arthur, Texas; sister, Darline Bellotti, Port Arthur, Texas; 32 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; many special nieces and nephews; and many children he loved.
Wake services will be 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Prague with the Rev. Adrian Vorderlandwehr, O.S.B., officiating.
Services will be noon Monday at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel with the Brother Paul Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in Prague Cemetery.
Orville Gallion
Tecumseh resident Orville Gallion died Tuesday in Shawnee. He was 78.
Gallion was born July 11, 1921, in Davis to Charles and Sarah (Broom) Gallion. He married Lanieta Mullings on April 10, 1948, in Guthrie.
He had lived in California for nine years and had resided in Oklahoma since 1987. He was an overland truck driver and worked for several companies. He later owned his own truck.
He was a member of the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall, Tecumseh congregation, and was a member of the Teamster's Union until retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Lanieta Gallion, of the home; daughter, Sandra Looney, Tennessee; sister, Stella Crabtree, Corpus Christi, Texas; brother-in-law and spouse, Orval and Joy Mullings, St. Louis; nephew and spouse, Bob and Sally Lock, Peoria, Ariz.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. today at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness with Stan Sypien officiating. Burial will be at Cummings Cemetery, Maud.
Nancy Ellen Bonham Ownbey
Former Shawnee resident Nancy Ellen Bonham Ownbey, Albuquerque, N.M., died Dec. 4. She was 34.
She was born Aug. 27, 1965, in Shawnee.
Mrs. Ownbey graduated valedictorian from Shawnee High School in 1983. She earned a bachelor's degree with distinction from the University of Oklahoma in 1986, and a juris doctorate from the University of Oklahoma Law School in 1988.
She also received a master's degree in microbiology and immunology in 1992 from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.
Mrs. Ownbey passed the bar exam in Oklahoma and in New Mexico. She was an associate patent attorney with the firm of Peacock, Myers and Adams, P.C., in Albuquerque.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. Timothy C. Ownbey, daughter, Millicent Ownbey, and son, Joshua Ownbey, all of Albuquerque; her parents, Clarke A. and Sharon Bonham, Shawnee; a brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Andrew and Mary Pat Bonham, and their five children.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Methodist Church in Shawnee with Dr. Jerry Ball officiating.
Betty Williams
Wellston resident Betty Williams died Tuesday. She was 71.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church of Wellston. Burial will be at Wellston Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Chandler.
G.C. Smithee
Okemah resident G.C. Smithee died Tuesday at his home. He was 98.
Smithee was born May 8, 1901, in Pleasant Hill, Stone County, Ark., to George Washington and Ersie Smithee. He married Dovie Etta Ward on Jan. 18, 1924, in Pleasant Hill, Ark.
He was a member of the Morse Baptist Church and was a retired farmer and rancher. He had lived in Okfuskee County for 74 years.
Survivors include his wife, Dovie Smithee, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Dee and Ann Smithee, Sapulpa; two daughters, Lois Tanner, Okemah; Marie Ballard, Longview, Texas; brother, Roy Smithee, Ohio; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Troy, Walter and Bill Smithee; and one sister, Niecie Mealer.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel, Okemah, with the Rev. Rick McVeigh officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
Frank Junior Ebers
Chandler resident Frank Junior Ebers died Monday in Oklahoma City. He was 66.
Ebers was born Feb. 13, 1933, in Wellston to Frank and Lakie (Gilliam) Ebers. He married Vetrice Stewart on Sept. 16, 1957, in Shawnee.
He worked as a mechanic and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wellston. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Vetrice Ebers, of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, David and Cynthia Ebers, Wichita, Kan.; Martin and Marcia Ebers and Robert and Christi Ebers, all of Chandler; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Terry Dawson, Chandler; daughter, Rachel Prough, Wellston; two brothers, Harold Ebers, Tennessee; Roger Ebers, Wellston; two sisters, Kathrine Carrough, Spencer; Ruby Hamby, Petrolia, Texas; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, two grandchildren and one sister.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Wellston with the Rev. Alan Small and Dwain Young officiating. Burial will follow in Rossville Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Chandler.
