Shawnee resident Oscar Reynolds, 89, died Wednesday at a local hospital.
Services are pending and will be announced by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
Artice Orris McKinney
Artice Orris "Mack" McKinney, 82, former owner/operator of the Ben Franklin Store of Shawnee, died Monday in the Barnsdall Nursing Home.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Pauline (Coole) McKinney of the home; sisters-in-law, Vona Lee Anthony, Hortense Dixon and Charlotte "Pat" Taylor; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe and Joyce Hurt; and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services
will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church of Barnsdall with the Rev. Joe Reeves officiating. Interment
will follow at the Ethel Reese Cemetery under the direction of Arnold Moore-Barnsdall Funeral Home.
Murrel Martin
Harrah resident Murrel Martin, 87, died Wednesday.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Thelma (Dukes) Martin; a daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Glenn Bredemeyer of Harrah; a son and daughter-in-law, Dewayne and Jeannette Coleman of Harrah; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, a brother, Les Martin of Harrah and many family and friends
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Memory Lane Cemetery of Harrah.
Pearl Selman Hocker
Pearl Selman Hocker, 97, Shawnee, died Thursday at her home.
She was born Dec. 6, 1904, in Leedey to Joe Eddins and Mary Caroline (Lawson) Selman.
She grew up on her parents' farm in Leedey.
She earned her lifetime teaching certificate at Southwestern College in Weatherford and completed her baccalaureate and master's degrees in education at The University of Oklahoma. She was a retired school teacher.
She married Joseph Norton Hocker at Kames City, Texas, on April 4, 1927. He died in 1989.
After teaching at several rural Oklahoma schools, she moved with her husband to Shawnee, where she taught in the Shawnee school system until retiring in 1966.
During her teaching career, she was named Teacher of the Year and was active in several professional organizations, including the Oklahoma Education Association, the National Education Association, Delta Kappa Gamma, Kappa Kappa Iota and the Oklahoma Retired Educators Association.
She and her husband were active members of First Baptist Church of Shawnee since 1936 and held leadership roles in Sunday school, training union and other activities.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, Joel and Mary Selman; two brothers, Minter Selman of Dove Creek, Colo., and Paul Selman of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Sally Fern of Casa Grande, Ariz., and Marie Rhodyback of Shawnee.
Surviving are one daughter, Ivalane Hocker Neptune of Lawton; one son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Gail Hocker of Shawnee; grandchildren, Kathy Hocker of Juneau, Alaska, and Carol and Mark Vanderville of Eugene, Ore.; one great-granddaughter, Shaye Lynn Vanderville of Eugene, Ore.; one sister, Alma McElhaney of Norman; a sister-in-law, Margaret Hocker of LaCrosse, Wis.; nephews, James McElhaney of Sioux Falls, Iowa; S.H. McElhaney of Noble; Charles McElhaney of Norman; John McElhaney of Norman; Richard Hocker and John Hocker of Livermore, Ky., Melvin Selman of Newalla; and Joe Bob Selman of Charlottesville, Va.; nieces, Mary Jane Andersen of Amarillo, Texas; Ruth Ann Szymanski of Braedenton, Fla.; Rebekah Abrams of El Paso, Texas; and Marguerite Tanner of Casa Grande, Ariz.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Shawnee with Dr. Paul Calmes officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Service.
Joe Dave McGirt Sr.
Wewoka resident Joe Dave "Coffee Joe" McGirt Sr., 60, died Thursday at an Oklahoma City hospital.
Surviving are his sons, Joe McGirt Jr. of Tecumseh and David McGirt of Oklahoma City; daughter, Brenda Smith of Oklahoma City; five brothers, Gary "Joe Sam" Harjo, Larry Brown of Holdenville, Jimmy McGertt of Okemah, Charlie McGertt of Poteau and Louis McGertt of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Rose Deer and Inda McGertt, both of Okemah; four grandchildren; one aunt and several nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
A wake was held Saturday. McGirt will be moved to Hitchitee United Methodist Church at 4 p.m. today. Wake services will be 7 p.m. today. Funeral services
will be 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Houston Tiger and the Rev. Abe Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at the Hitchitee United Methodist Church Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.
Moses Taylor Curtis
Moses Taylor Curtis, 89, Wewoka, died Friday in Oklahoma City.
Surviving are his wife, Florence Curtis of the home; daughter, Donna Maye Sharp of Paris, Calif.; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ben Curtis of Wewoka, James and Sharon Curtis of Elk Grove, Calif., and Anthony and Karen Curtis of Diamond Bar, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Lorelei Curtis of Wewoka; three sisters, Louvita Wakefield, Wanda Wagner and Norma Hood; three brothers, Lowell Curtis, Harvey Curtis and Talmage Curtis; 20 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Church of God, 7th Day, Shawnee.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
George Holbert
George Holbert, 68, of Saint Louis, Okla., died Tuesday in Whitesboro, Texas.
He was born Nov. 9, 1933, in Cunningham, Texas, to General Lee and Mollie Katherine (Chessier) Holbert.
He moved to Saint Louis as a child and lived there most of his life.
He attended and graduated from Saint Louis High School.
He married Jamie Sue Davis on Sept. 25, 1954, in St. Louis. She preceded him in death on Nov. 10, 1993.
He owned and operated a body shop in Shawnee for many years. He also owned and operated a heavy equipment business in Texas, retiring to Saint Louis in 1989.
He was a member of the Avoca Church of Christ.
He also was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his son, Gary Holbert of Denison, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Ginger and James Reeves of Ozark, Ark.; one grandson, Justin Holbert of Sherman, Texas; four granddaughters, Alisha Holbert of Sherman, Texas, Jamia Reeves, Jenna Reeves and Jorgia Reeves, all of Ozark, Ark.; two sisters, Jean Hulsey of Shawnee and Dixie Holbert of Tecumseh; brother-in-law and spouse, Joe and Gearldean Davis of Crescent; two sisters-in-law and spouses, Carolyn and Dewey Goodin of Maud and Jarita and Delbert Goodin of Del City.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. D.W. "Red" Barnes officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh. The family will receive friends 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Glenn Cain
Shawnee resident Glenn "Bubby" Cain, 55, died Tuesday at an Oklahoma City hospital.
He was born Aug. 23, 1946, in Sulphur to Ollie and Jessie Mae (McGaha) Cain.
He married Rita Mellinger April 27, 1973. They resided in Headrick, Okla., until 1977 when they moved to Shawnee.
Cain worked in maintenance at Sequoyah School and also worked in a paint and body shop for 25 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Johnny Cain.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Cain of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Vicki and Chris Campbell and Nanci Halley, all of Shawnee; two grandsons, Levi Colt Pruitt and Junior Doyle Halley; and a granddaughter, Ariel Nicole Campbell, all of Shawnee; a sister, Mildred Bailey of Headrick; and a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with Russ Furgason officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Earl L. Henke
Earl L. Henke, 76, died Thursday in Shawnee.
On Sept. 27, 1925, he was born in Oklahoma City, the son of Chester L. And Mary A. Henke.
Henke served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. His tour included time in the Pacific and the Aleutian Islands.
He was an oil and gas land man. During his life, he assisted many people in receiving college educations.
On June 27, 2949, he married Juana Wampler. They had one daughter, Mary in 1952.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Juana, in 1990; his parents; three sisters, Margaret Esterlin, Shirley Reynolds and Ruth Chapman; and two brothers, Wilbur Henke and Chester Henke.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Terry and Mary Toole of Shawnee; grandsons and his wife, Mike and Rae Lynn Toole of Oklahoma City; granddaughter and her husband, Amy and Gary Burton of Colorado Springs, Colo.; great-grandchildren, Hailey and Dillon Burton of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one brother, Charles Henke of Santa Ana, Calif.; one sister, Mary Joe Nations of Overland Park, Kan.; and many other family members and friends.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Monday at United Presbyterian Church, 330 N. Beard.
Chloa N. Miller
Chloa N. Miller, 84, of Midwest City died Wednesday.
Survivors include two sons, Eddie Miller of Midwest City and Billy Miller of North Highland, Calif.; three daughters, Jeanie Lofton and Sue Strickland, both of Midwest City, and Virginia Chappel of Piedmont; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services
will be 2 p.m. today at Resthaven Memory Gardens, east of Shawnee.
James Lloyd Cooper
James Lloyd "Baldy" Cooper of Mountainburg, Ark., died Thursday. He was 68.
Surviving are his wife, Judy of the home; brother Tom Cooper of Tecumseh; sisters Celeste Barnes of Pearson, Modell Brock of Tecumseh, Donna Newell of Houston, Texas, and Jenean Cooper of Orlando, Fla.; daughters Barbara Bolin of Keota, Okla., Cindy Moreland of Roland, Okla., and Caroline Woods of Greenwood, Ark.; son, James Richard Cooper of Sonora, Texas; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren, Ark. Burial will follow in Gill Cemetery.
George Ann Cunningham
George Ann (Short) (Richmond) Cunningham, 97, of Wellston, died Friday.
Surviving are her daughter, Shirley Pat McClain and her husband Jody of Chandler; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; stepson John L. Cunningham of Chandler; stepdaughters Ada Lane and Freida Crech, California; four stepgrandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-great grandchild.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Wellston with the Rev. Alan Small officiating. Burial will follow at Wellston Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Chandler.
Larry Keith Schoemann
Larry Keith Schoemann died Friday in Oklahoma City at the age of 62.

Grace Ann Ferguson
Grace Ann Ferguson, 90, of Sparks died Tuesday in Shawnee.
Survivors include a daughter, Jean Louise Webb of Chandler; a sister, Dora Deane Dowling of Eldon Mo.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City.
Arrangements are being handled by Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Prague.
