Bonnie Jean Waldrop
Bonnie Jean Waldrop, 78, of Oklahoma City died Sunday at her home.
She was born Feb. 29, 1924, in Dale to Scott and Effie Blackwell. She graduated from Dale High School and Draughn Business College.
She married James R. Waldrop Jr. and they had four children.
She started her first career as a bookkeeper for Cowen Construction of Shawnee. She had a second career with the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission.
Survivors include her children, Jimmy Waldrop and wife Millie, Chuck Waldrop and wife Sandra, Margaret Yanish, and John Waldrop and wife Gloria; nine grandchilren, Debbie Waldrop, Jim Waldrop IV, Tracy Bowlware, Jason Yanish, Cole Yanish, Max Waldrop, Dustin Waldrop, Brandon Waldrop and Leslie Waldrop; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Morris Blackwell of Shawnee; a sister, Mary Joe Lakey and husband Allen of Fort Worth, Texas; and several nieces and nephews, their spouses and children,
Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at South Colonial Chapel.
Arrangements are under the direction of Vondel L. Smith and Son Mortuaries.
Lenora Bevin Roberson
Lenora Bevin Roberson, 78, of Wanette died Monday in Shawnee.
Survivors include four daughters, Davida Alberts of Desoto, Texas, Regina Merliss of Oklahoma City, Sharon Mojica of Moore and Susie Richardson of Moore; one sister, Letha Roberson of Byars, Okla.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 12 p.m. Friday at Living Word Church of Shawnee with the Rev. Clifford Briscoe officiating. Burial will follow in McGee Cemetery of Stratford under the direction of Pickard Funeral Home of Stratford.
Jack Gertrude Baugh
Jack Gertrude Baugh of Shawnee died Saturday at her home. She was 84.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Amy Baugh of Tecumseh; grandsons and granddaughters-in-law David and Laura Baugh of Shawnee and Rachel and Randy Epperly of Shawnee; and three great-grandchildren.
Private services were held Monday under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.
Leslie Carpicher
Leslie Carpicher, 85, of Sasakwa died Wednesday at his home.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other family members and friends.
A service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Rock Springs Indian Baptist Church, with the Rev. Webster Fixico officiating. A wake service will be 7 p.m. today at Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa. Burial will be in Rock Springs Indian Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home.
Virginia Garrett
Shawnee resident Virginia Garrett, 90, died Thursday at her residence.
She was born Feb. 17, 1912, in St. Louis, Mo., to Charles and Lula (Sedlacek) Moydell. She lived in the Prague and Shawnee area nearly all her life.
Garrett was a homemaker and a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church of Shawnee. She also worked at Tinker Air Force Base for several years.
She married William Leroy "Roy" Garrett Dec. 17, 1938, in Shawnee.
Garrett was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sons, Donald Garrett and Delbert Garrett; brothers, Kenneth Wayne "Sam" Moydell, Lawrence Moydell, Milton Moydell; sisters, Helen Bradley, Evangeline Morris and Augusta Bradley.
Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Garrett of Fort Worth, Texas; brothers, Lester Moydell of Enid, Chester Moydell of Midwest City and Keith Moydell of Prague; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel of Prague with interment following at Prague Cemetery. The Rev. Steve Roach will officiate.
Ealeta Money
Ealeta Money, 84, of Oklahoma City died Wednesday.
She was born April 8, 1918, to Ethel and Waco Jackson Underwood in Marlow, Okla.
She moved to Oklahoma City at an early age and graduated from Central High School in 1937.
She married A.V. Money on June 19, 1937.
She had worked at Wolfe Advertising Inc., Rothchild's and as an Oklahoma City School crossing guard.
She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Del City.
She was preceded in death by her brother Glen Underwood and mother Ethel Underwood.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, A.V. of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Melba and Merle Shaw; three grandchildren and spouse, Greg Shaw, Lisa and Don Essary and Sherri Richardson; two great-great-grandchildren, Emily Essary and Andrew Essary; two sisters, Iva Nixon and Viola Soza; and special friend Joey Bowers.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Southern Baptist Church of Del City with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bill Eisenhour S.E. Funeral Home Sig.
Walter C. Blemmel
Walter C. Blemmel, 78, of Prague died Tuesday at his home.
Survivors include his wife Aline Blemmel of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Diane Blemmel of Prague; a son, Ricky Blemmel of Claremore; three brothers, Earl Blemmel of Mena, Ark., Jerry Blemmel of Talihina and Richard Blemmel of McLoud; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A service will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Prague with the Rev Dan Wing and the Rev. Charles Pearcy officiating. Burial will follow at White Dove Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Prague.
Steve Lynn
Shawnee native Steve Lynn, 60, of Rio Oso, Calif., died Tuesday at a California hospital.
Surviving are his son, Ernie Thompson of Wheatland, Calif.; brother Fred J. Lynn Jr., Shawnee; brother Gary Lynn of Rio Linda; four nephews; and one niece.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Fairview Cemetery in Rio Oso with the Rev. Daniel Bradfield officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ullrey Memorial Chapel Inc.
Thomas Junior Beason
Thomas Junior Beason, 79, died April 20 in Iowa Park, Texas.
He was born June 28, 1922, in Indiahoma, Okla., to Jerry and Fannie (Hammonds) Beason.
He attended Indiahoma Schools and married Evelyn Conley in 1946 in Wanette.
He was in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he served in the European Theatre of Germany and received the Purple Heart. He worked as a plumber on Shephard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, Texas, until retirement in 1984.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Red Door Senior Citizens and the Woodlawn Baptist Church of Wichita Falls, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, five brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include three sisters, Geraldine Anderson of Snyder and Elsie Harper and Bobbie Thompson, both of Shawnee; a son, Joe Beason of Wichita Falls, Texas; two daughters, Janice Mills of Iowa Park, Texas, and Phyllis Beason of Standford, Texas; three grandsons; two granddaughters; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were April 23 at Wanette Cemetery under the direction of Wadley Funeral Home of Purcell.
Wilma N. Beason
Shawnee resident Wilma N. Beason, 78, died April 8 at a Shawnee nursing home.
She was born Jan. 24, 1924, in Indiahoma, Okla., to Jerry and Fannie (Hammonds) Beason.
She attended Indiahoma School and was a 1942 graduate of Tribbey High School, where she played in the band and was the class valedictorian. She worked at Tinker Air Force Base and Bell Telephone of Shawnee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and a sister.
Survivors include three sisters, Geraldine Anderson of Snyder and Elsie Harper and Bobbie Thompson, both of Shawnee; a brother, Thomas Junior Beason of Iowa Park, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services were April 11 at the First Baptist Church of Snyder. Burial was at Snyder under the direction of Preston-Lecke Funeral Home of Snyder.
Rachel Len Woodall
Rachel Len Woodall, 22, Ada, died Sunday in Seminole County.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Master's House in Stafford, Mike Shelburne.
Survivors include her parents Scott and Tammy Woodall, Stratford; two sisters, Jody Ann Woodall and Xena Woodall, Stratford; grandparents Morris and Pat Woodall, Shawnee, and Harold and Shirley James, Stratford, two aunts, Teresa Thomas of Shawnee and Crystal Wartchow, Ada; and uncles, Harold James Jr. and Steve Woodall, both of Stratford, and Pete Woodall and Allen Woodall, both of Shawnee.
Leona Pearl Butler
Dale resident Leona Pearl Butler, 88, died Wednesday at a local hospital.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Christ of Dale. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery. Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel will announce further arrangements.
C. Arlene Roye
Shawnee resident C. Arlene Roye, 75, died Tuesday in Shawnee.
She was born Jan. 30, 1927, in Lometa, Texas, to Clyde Elmer and Myrtle Mae (Mauldin) Coble.
Roye was reared in Texas and lived in Oklahoma, Louisiana, North Carolina, Texas and Arkansas before making Shawnee her home three years ago.
She married James Edward Roye in Lampasas, Texas, Jan. 12, 1946. He preceded her in death on Sept. 3, 1990.
Roye was a homemaker and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Amaranth, Rainbow Girls and the First Baptist Church while in Arkansas.
In addition to her husband, she preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Linda Soape and brother, James Coble.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Peggye and Ronald Roye-Gwynn of Tecumseh; son, Jimmie Roye of McLoud; sister, Vernell Stone of Lometa, Texas; grandchildren, William Rimmer, Jimmie Roye Jr. and Travis Roye, all of Newalla, Melissa Reedy of Troup, Texas, and Michelle Carlile of Tyler, Texas; and six great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Matthews White Hall Cemetery, Whitehall, Ark., under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh. The family will receive friends Friday 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Bobby Joe "Bob" Templeton
Bobby Joe "Bob" Templeton, 66, Shawnee, died Tuesday.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Pentecostal Church of God with the Rev. Fred Owens and the Rev. Barney Shirey officiating. Burial will follow at Brown Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cooper Funeral Home in Tecumseh.
