Louotta Cruzan
Former Cushing resident Louotta Cruzan of Houston died Thursday in Houston, Texas. She was 85.
Mrs. Cruzan was born Dec. 18, 1914, in Stroud to Roger Lydick and Iva (Garner) Lydick Foster.
She graduated from Cushing High School in 1932.
She married Melvin Cruzan on Aug. 22, 1932, in Pryor.
Mrs. Cruzan was a homemaker, and a member of Bellaire Christian Church in Bellaire, Texas.
She had lived in Houston, Texas for 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband Melvin Cruzan, Houston, Texas; two sons, Roger Cruzan, Houston, Texas, and Randy Cruzan, LaJunta, Colo.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church in Stroud with the Rev. Sandy Chace officiating. Burial will be in Stroud Cemetery, under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home of Stroud.
Marilyn Sue White
Marilyn Sue White, Shawnee, died Tuesday at her home. She was 41.
Mrs. White was born March 11, 1959, in Oklahoma City, the daughter of Nelson and Vera (Kent) White.
She grew up in Elk City. She graduated from Chilocco Indian School in Chilocco, and moved to Shawnee in 1978.
She worked as a power sewing machinist.
Mrs. White was a member of the North Rock Creek Assembly of God.
She was preceded in death by her father, Nelson White; three sisters; a brother; and her grandparents, Chief Solomon and Rosa (Daily) Kent; and Chief Corbett and Ruth (Vetter) White.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Lydia and Floyd Davis, Shawnee; Lila Donahue, Shawnee; two brothers, Starlin Knight, Sapulpa; Jay McGrit, Oklahoma City; a sister, Ada Tehauno, Tecumseh; granddaughter, Marie Davis; a grandson; companion, Martin Frye; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Bah-Kho-je Chena Building, south of Perkins, with the Rev. Tom Morris and Lee Hastings officiating. Burial will be in the Iowa Tribal Cemetery in Perkins under the direction of Strode Funeral Home of Stillwater.
George Addison Young
George Addison Young died March 24 in San Diego, Calif. He was 82.
He was born March 22, 1918, near Argonia, Kan. He was the son of Charles A. and Nellie Cora (Hutchison) Young.
He graduated from Argonia High School and attended Phillips University in Enid from 1935-37. He received his degree from Central State University in 1940. He married Avis Darlene Bontty on Feb. 8, 1941, in San Antonio, Texas.
Young served in the U.S. Army Corps during World War II as the commanding officer of the 83rd Squadron of the 12th Bomb Group in Africa and finished his active duty as a lieutenant colonel. He operated a dairy farm north of Prague until 1964.
He received his master's in education from the University of Oklahoma in 1967. In 1968, he moved to California and worked as a psychologist in the San Diego School System.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Survivors include his wife, Avis Young, of the home, LaMesa, Calif.; two sons, George Addison Young, II and James Aaron Young; one daughter, Anne Darlene Young; two brothers, Charles H. Young, Southlake, Texas; Col. John N. Young, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sisters, Rosa Lee Dennis, Dothan, Ala.; Virginia Mathis, Edmond; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Prague with Tim Emmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Prague Cemetery.
Vincent W. Marino Jr.
Harrah resident Vincent W. Marino Jr. died Tuesday. He was 51.
Marino was born Jan. 20, 1949, in Johnsonburgh, Pa., to Vincent Sr. and Rosalie (Marshall) Marino.
Survivors include his parents, one brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Terri Lynn, Choctaw; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mary and Alan Craig, Sapulpa; Terri Ann and John Battershell, Edmond; Charlene Prater, Oklahoma City; one nephew, four nieces and many other relatives and friends.
Rosary wil be 7 p.m. today, wake services will be 7:30 p.m. today and Mass will be 1 p.m. Friday, all at St. Teresa's Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Teresa's Catholic Cemetery, Harrah, under the direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service.
Ruth Lee Keene
Cushing resident Ruth Lee Keene died Tuesday at a Cushing hospital. She was 84.
Mrs. Keene was born July 30, 1915, in Bakersfield, Mo., to Walter Pinkey and Mattie (Baker) Howard. She married Marvin Keene in 1956.
Mrs. Keene, a homemaker, was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Opal Stidham, Shawnee; Luanne Worthy, Cushing; brother, Roy Howard, Oxford, Kan.; sisters, Lorraine Kessinger, Bakersfield, Mo.; Ruby Fore, Gepp, Ark.; sister-in-law, Babe Grisso, Shawnee; two grandchildren, Crystal Robinson, Oklahoma City; Milicent Donaldson, Cushing; one great-grandchild, Gabrielle Robinson, Oklahoma City; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three brothers.
Graveside services
will be 3 p.m. Friday at Rest Haven Cemetery, Seminole, under the direction of Palmer Funeral Home, Cushing, with the Rev. George Brock III officiating.
Vivian Jewel Aldridge Brazell
Lifelong Cromwell resident Vivian Jewel Aldridge Brazell died Monday. She was 86.
Mrs. Brazell was born March 15, 1914, in Antlers to Thomas and Mary (Cleek) Crenshaw.
She was raised in the Cromwell area and attended Haney Schools.
She married Marlon A. (Gebo) Aldridge in September 1934 at Little. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1985. She married Paul Brazell in May 1991 at Fort Smith, Ark. He preceded her in death in August 1997.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cromwell for more than 50 years.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Leta J. and Russ Bourque, Cromwell; Eula M. and Robert Johnson Glenwood Springs, Colo.; daughter, Janice Aldridge, Shawnee; sons and daughters-in-law, Gene Ray and Darlene Aldridge, Cromwell; Danny and Mary Woody, Prague; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
Services will be 10 a.m. today at Stout Funeral Home Chapel, Wewoka, with the Rev. James Wigginton officiating. Burial will be at the Sand Creek Cemetery, one mile north of Interstate 40 on SH 56, then a half mile east.
Key Smith and Lorene Smith
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, June 15, at Woodbury Baptist Church, Woodbury, Minn., for Key Smith, 81, who died Jan. 19, and Lorene Smith, 79, who died April 10. The two were cremated.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Sharron and Bill Whitcomb, Cottage Grove, Minn.; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Laurie Smith, Greeley, Colo.; grandchildren, Scott and Monica, Staci and Mark, Mark, Matt, Kelli, Jaime and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Michelle, Ryan, Ashley, Jacob and Skyeler; Mrs. Smith's sisters and brothers-in-law, Wanda and Al Ossenkop; Donn and John Jernigan; and her brother, Doyt Carter, all of Oklahoma City; and Key Smith's sister, Marge Christesen, Shawnee.
Chester Ray Willingham
Chester Ray Willingham died Monday in Prague. He was 81.
He was born May 18, 1919, in Shamrock. He was the son of John and Lizzie (Whitmire) Willingham.
He was a resident of the Prague and Paden areas all of his life. He retired from Allied Materials Corporation in 1979.
Willingham married Hazel Irene Wilson on Feb. 10, 1940, in Okemah. She preceded him in death on Feb. 13, 1995.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Sue and Shelby Martin, Bethany; Peggy Skaggs, Paden; three brothers and their wives, Buck and Clessie Willingham, Bristow; Kenneth and Helen Willingham, Stroud; Jack and Wanda Willingham, Wilburton; three sisters and their husbands, Fern and A.J. Weatheral, Midland, Texas; Margie and Gene Rogers, Stroud; Freda and Everett Pickard, Earlsboro; three grandchildren and their spouses, Tim and Debby Martin, Yukon; Kenny and Belinda Skaggs, Prague; Gary and Christina Skaggs, Prague; three great-grandchildren, Tanner and Allie Martin and Kayla Skaggs.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Prague with the Rev. Paul Heard officiating. Burial will follow in the Paden Cemetery.
Ruth Anne Helm
Chandler resident Ruth Anne Helm died Tuesday at her home. She was 60.
Mrs. Helm was born Sept. 30, 1939, in Hugo to Harold Henry and Opal Marie (Gilmore) Potter. She married Wayne Helm in 1959 in Chandler.
She and her husband operated a dairy in Lincoln County for many years.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne Helm, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Wade and DeeDee Helm, Chandler; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and Raymond Moore, Chandler; Debbie and Billy Sprague, Chandler; brother, Philip Henry Potter, Washington, D.C.; grandmother, Ruth Gilmore, Chandler; four grandchildren, Malissa Helm, Alanna Helm, Courtney Helm and Thomas Moore, all of Chandler; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Chandler, with Ray Helm officiating.
William A. Shores
William A. Shores of Shawnee died Friday at his home. He was 80.
Shores was born May 2, 1919, in Harvey, Ark., to James Rile Shores and Nora Jane Williams Shores.
He worked as a tree surgeon in Shawnee, and was a member of Penn West Baptist Church of Holdenville. He married Mamie Jones in McAlester in 1947.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Surviving are his wife, Mamie Shores; daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Tommy Neal of Del City; Evelyne and Norman Knapp of Smithville, Okla.; Gloria James of Nashoba, Okla.; Nora and Jim Scarberry of Nashoba, Okla.; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Debbie Shores of Tecumseh; Wesley Shores of Nashoba, Okla.; a brother, Lee Shores of Las Cruzes, New Mexico; a sister, Nelly Brooks of Yuma, Ariz., 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Resthaven Funeral Chapel with the Rev. DuWayne Colvin officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. at Wetumka Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
Rita Marie Pierce
Shawnee resident Rita Marie Pierce died Thursday at her home. She was 71.
Mrs. Pierce was born Jan. 8, 1928, in Trousdale to Henry and Margaret (West) Rogers. She married Carl B. Pierce on Feb. 10, 1945 in Wanette.
She graduated from Trousdale High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Benedict's Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Carl B. Pierce, Shawnee; daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Don Hudson, Grand Lake; Cathy and Terry Siribandan, Owasso; grandsons, Christopher Godwin, Tulsa; Chad Godwin, Virginia; Chance Siribandan, Owasso; great-granddaughter, Noel Godwin, Virginia; sisters, Ethel Schumacher, Midwest City; Edna Bugg, Shawnee; Wanda Elliott, Oklahoma City; and many other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Hubert and Ralph Rogers; and sister, Inez Rogers.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Fairview Cemetery Chapel under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with Father Maurus Jaeb, O.S.B., officiating.
