James Francis Burgess
Lifelong Okmulgee resident James Francis Burgess died Wednesday. He was 56.
Burgess was a Muscogee (Creek) national tribal court officer.
Wake services will be 7 p.m. today at the Wewoka Indian Baptist Church. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Wewoka Indian Baptist Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Kelley Funeral Home, Okmulgee.
Murray Brown
Murray Brown, 70, Tecumseh, died Wednesday in Tecumseh.
He was born Jan. 9, 1931, in Gene Autrey to Marion and Kate (Eatherly) Brown.
He lived in Pennington before moving to Tecumseh many years ago. He was an auto mechanic for Norton Chevrolet and Townsend Ford.
Brown served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
He is survived by his mother, Kate Reed, and many friends.
Graveside services
will be 2 p.m. Friday at Tecumseh Cemetery with the Rev. Will Bentley of Broadway United Methodist Church, Tecumseh, officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.
Rosie (Pliva) Suva
Prague resident Rosie Suva died Wednesday at a Prague nursing home at the age of 87.
Born Aug. 22, 1913, in Belmont, she was the daughter of Joseph and Susie (Dominik) Pliva. She was a homemaker and long-time Lincoln County resident. She married Ernest Louis Suva Jan. 16, 1933, in Shawnee.
Preceding her in death are her parents, four sisters, her husband and a brother.
Survivors include two nieces, Lillie Bartos and JoAnn Mazkoori, both of Prague and one nephew, Joe Cernocky of Prague.
Graveside services
will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the Prague Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Prague.
C.H. Kelton
C.H. "Pete" Kelton, 79, Choctaw, died Thursday.
The son of David and Mattie (Choate) Kelton was born March 5, 1922, in Paden.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Kelton was a Mason for 50 years.
Survivors include his wife, Viola, of the home; brother, Herschel Kelton of Kellyville; niece, Linda Crass of Stroud; six stepchildren; 18 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Woods Community Baptist Church in Choctaw. Burial will be in Prague Cemetery.
Asa Smith Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Deborah Lyn (Murphy) Meyers
Deborah Lyn (Murphy) Meyers, Purcell, died Thursday in Purcell. She was 44.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Fairview Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Matthews and Phil Thompson will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.
Thelma Lesta Neal
Thelma Lesta Neal, 89, Shawnee, died Friday in a local nursing home.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel. Other arrangements are pending.
Russell Strong
Shawnee resident Russell Strong died Friday in a local nursing home at the age of 53.
Services are pending with Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.
Deborah Lyn (Murphy) Meyers
Former Shawnee resident Deborah Lyn (Murphy) Meyers, Purcell, died Thursday in Purcell. She was 44.
She was born May 21, 1957, in Dallas, Texas, and grew up in the Sacramento, Calif., area.
She lived most of her life in the Shawnee area, recently moving to Purcell.
She was a certified nursing assistant at Sunset Estates Nursing Home in Purcell.
Preceding her in death were her grandfathers, Jake Knoles and Elmer Murphy.
Survivors include three daughters, Kay Stokes of Spencer, Crystal Meyers of Purcell and Christina Meyers of Barling, Ark.; her son, Tim Meyers of Houston; her mother, Maurita Gallagher of Houston, Texas; her father, Don Murphy of Shawnee; her brother, Don Murphy Jr. of Shawnee; a halfbrother, Josh Murphy of Shawnee; two grandmothers, Dorothy Knoles and Hazel Murphy, both of Shawnee; and two grandchildren, Shay and Alyssa Stokes.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Fairview Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Matthews and Phil Thompson will officiate.

William Bart Stafford
William Bart "Bill" Stafford, Seminole, died Thursday in Hamilton, Ala., at the age of 39.
He was born Nov. 17, 1961, in Seminole, the son of Bart Leon and Juanita M. (Chandler) Stafford.
He graduated from East Central University, Ada, with an engineering degree. He was a project manager for Epik Communications in Orlando, Fla.
He was married for more than 11 years to Ann Marie Young Stafford.
Preceding him in death were his father and grandparents, Luie and Leila Stafford, and Roger and Cora Chandler.
Survivors include his mother, Juanita Stafford of Seminole, and brother, Gary Stafford of Seminole.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Lynn Borrego will officiate. Burial will be in Little Cemetery.
Johnny Lynch
Johnny Lynch, 42, Seminole, died Friday in Seminole.
Lynch was born Oct. 6, 1958, in Seminole, the son of Addie (Dunn) Lynch.
He lived in Seminole until his 1987 move to Tulsa. In 1994, he moved to Wyoming. He returned to Seminole in 1997. He had attended schools in Seminole and Pleasant Grove.
He was a service technician for natural gas compressors.
On March 22, 1989, he and Deborah Rich were married in Tulsa.
Lynch was a member of Missionary Baptist Church, Glenpool.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; mother, of Chickasha; three sons, Brandon Parker of Chanute, Kan., and T.J. Lynch and Preston Lynch, both of Seminole; four daughters, Johnna Lynch of Fort Smith, Ark., Jolleen Lynch of Okemah, Brandy Parker and Tina Mize, both of Seminole; and his grandchild, Bailey Morgan.
Viewing will be noon to 8 p.m. today at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole. No further viewing or services will be held.
Kathryn Walker Ingraham
Kathryn Walker Ingraham, Okemah, died Friday at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was 76.
She was born March 16, 1925, in Okfuskee County. The daughter of Joseph Richard and Elizabeth Bell (Byrum) Walker had lived in the Okfuskee County area all her life.
On Dec. 24, 1954, she married Don Ingraham in Okmulgee.
Mrs. Ingraham was a retired school teacher and a member of Assembly of God Church and the EnVant Study Group.
Preceding her in death were her parents, eight brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include her husband, of Okemah; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Pam Ingraham of Edmond; a daughter, Dana Williams of Ardmore; a sister, Minnie Walker of Okemah; three granddaughters, and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Assembly of God Church in Okemah. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Steve Lowrance will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah.
Thelma Lesta Neal
Thelma Lesta Neal, 89, Shawnee, died Friday in a local nursing home.
The daughter of William Thomas and Dora Bell (Self) Qualls was born April 14, 1912, in Wister, Okla.
On Dec. 14, 1936, she married Houston Neal in Wewoka.
She was a homemaker and member of First Church of the Nazarene.
Preceding her in death were her parents, five brothers and one son, Bill Frost.
Survivors include her husband, of Shawnee; a daughter, Reba Young of Shawnee; a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Judy Neal of Tulsa; a sister, Elma Lambert of Meeker; two brothers, Willard Qualls of Shawnee and Lethel Qualls of Oklahoma City; six grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Richard Dickinson will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park.
