Samuel Pascal
Samuel Pascal of Shawnee died Thursday at an Oklahoma City hospital.
Services are pending with Resthaven Funeral Home.
William E. McMoran
William E. "Bill" McMoran of Wichita Falls, Texas, died Saturday. He was 77.
He was born Sept. 18, 1923, in Shawnee.
McMoran was a retired U.S. sergeant first class after 23 years of service. He received three Battle Stars and Letters of Accommodation citing service above and beyond the call of duty, a letter from the Queen of England and a letter from President Harry Truman.
He was an Army recruiter in Tulsa for four years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Barbara and Ed McMoran; a brother, Pat McMoran and two sisters, Vida Maxwell and Celesta Coates.
Survivors include son, Bruce McMoran, Tulsa; daughter, Laurie McMoran, Dallas, Texas; three sisters, Flora Curtis, Grandfield; Joy Klein, Oklahoma City; Lucy Stubbe, Lawton; two grandsons, Jason McMoran, Noble; Joshua McMoran, Tulsa; four nephews and six nieces.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Fort Sill Cemetery in Lawton. There will be a burial of cremated remains with full military honors.
Services are under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home, Wichita Falls, Texas. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310.
Walter Elvin Tigner
Walter Elvin Tigner died Monday in northern Virginia. He was 85.
He was born April 4, 1915, to Mary and John Tigner of Seminole County. He married Hazelle Konkel on Oct. 10, 1942.
Tigner spent several years doing construction work on federal projects all over the United States, mostly in the southwest. He and his wife eventually returned to Oklahoma, living in Seminole, Oklahoma City, Shawnee and Tecumseh until a little over a year ago when they moved to northern Virginia to be closer to their daughter's family.
He retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1977. He was a lifetime member of the Good Sam Travel Club.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Estes Tigner Stubbs of Seminole, and his brother, Charley Tigner of California.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Hazelle Tigner, who lives in Ashburn, Va.; his daughter and son-in-law, Diana and David Nordean; two grandchildren, Wendy Nordean of Los Angeles, Calif. and Christopher Nordean of Falls Church, Va.; his sister and brother-in-law, Beulah and Calvin Grace of Seminole; his brother and sister-in-law, JD and Ione Tigner of Seminole and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be Saturday at Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church in Vienna, Va., and will be presided over by a longtime family friend, the Rev. Charles Nordean of the First United Methodist Church of Edmond.
Rev. Samuel D. Pascal
The Rev. Samuel D. Pascal, 52, Shawnee, died Thursday in an Oklahoma City hospital.
He was born in Valdese, N.C., on March 10, 1948, the son of Benjamin John and Mamie (Clark) Pascal.
The Oklahoma Baptist University graduate was pastor of White Stone Baptist Church in Cromwell.
On Dec. 23, 1971, he married Eileen Brodt.
Rev. Pascal was a Vietnam veteran. He was a member of White Stone Baptist Church and a former member of Temple Baptist Church.
He lived in North Carolina for a number of years before moving to Shawnee in 1982.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; one daughter, Heather Pascal of Shawnee; his stepfather, Vance E. Speagle of Valdese, N.C.; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Sylvia Pascal, Gloria Pascal and Janet and Max Loftin, all of Valdese, N.C.; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Frank and Jean Brodt of Shawnee; two brothers-in-law and their wives, Frank and Sue Brodt of Pittsburg, Pa. and Charles and Cathy Brodt of Edmond; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Temple Baptist Church. The Rev. Mike Craig and the Rev. Randy Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to White Stone Baptist Church.
Dr. Charles O. Good
Dr. Charles O. Good, 55, Chandler, died Thursday in Oklahoma City.
He was born in Shawnee on March 15, 1945, the son of Charles and Laura Soderstrom Good.
Good attended school in Davenport, Victor and Chandler. After graduating from Oklahoma State University, he attended the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Dentistry, receiving his D.D.S. degree in 1971.
In 1969, he married Mary Elizabeth (Betsy) Siegel in Kansas City, Mo.
After serving in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps at Camp Pendelton, Calif., from 1971-73,he began a private dental practice in Topeka, Kan. He retired in 1987.
Dr. Good was a member of the American Legion, the Disabled American Veterans, the Retired Officers Association, the Oklahoma City Traditional Music Association, the Chandler Masonic Lodge and several dental organizations. He was a past member of the Scottish Rite and the Shrine.
Preceding Dr. Good in death were his father and his grandparents.
Survivors include his wife Betsy; his mother; his sister, Laura Ann Knopfel of Covington; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 26, at the Friends Church, 215 N. Blaine, Chandler. Arrangements are under the direction of Demuth Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Lincoln County Historical Society.
Patsy Lou Virgin
Patsy Lou Virgin, Tulsa, died Thursday in Tulsa. She was 67.
Mrs. Virgin was born June 30, 1933, in Henryetta to Ruby and Dowel Virgin.
She was a retail worker and lived 15 years in Purcell before moving to Tulsa.
Survivors include her son, Ron Lyon, Tulsa; daughter and son-in-law, Janet and William Weldon, Purcell; sister, Linda Neely, Ada; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Denice Haraway, brother, Lynn Virgin and two husbands, Robert Virgin and Jimmy Lyon.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Pickard Funeral Home, Konawa.
Edward H. Vallandingham
Edward H. Vallandingham died Thursday in Norman. The Tecumseh resident was 82.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cooper Funeral Chapel.
Richard Gibson
Richard Gibson died Monday in Ardmore. He was 44.
He was born on March 8, 1956, in Erick, the son of Shirley Sue and Robert Lee Gibson.
He lived in Erick before moving to Texas, then Brandenton, Fla. He moved to Shawnee in August.
Preceding him in death was his father and one brother, Allen Mark Gibson.
Survivors include his mother, Shirley Gibson of Bradenton, Fla.; one sister, Sharon El-Jilani of Bradenton, Fla.; one brother, Kevin Gibson of Bradenton, Fla.; two half brothers, Bobby Gibson of Ruskin, Fla. and David Gibson of Jacksonville, Fla.; four nieces, nine nephews and a number of other relatives and friends.
Services were held Friday at Fatheree-Albert Chapel in Erick. The Rev. Lynn Brach officiated and burial followed in Erick Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Fatheree-Albert Funeral home.
Frank Miller Rosamond
Frank Miller Rosamond, 59, died on Jan. 14 in his Weatherford home.
He was born in Seminole on June 28, 1941, the son of Joe and Martha (Miller) Rosamond.
He was raised in Niland, Calif. At age 8, he moved to Saint Louis. He lived there until he graduated high school in 1960.
On March 20, 1961, he married Aloma Fowler. The couple made their home in Enid.
Rosamond began his work in oilfields after high school. He had worked for Vierson-Cochran, LADD Petroleum and Rosamond Petroleum.
He was a member of the Hydro and Clinton Masonic Lodges. He was also active with the Transplant Program.
Preceding Rosamond in death was his father.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Frank Miller Rosamond Jr. and Li-Jin Rosamond of Herndon, Va.; and Michael and Sibylle Rosamond of Aguanga, Calif.; one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy Renee and Kevin Harmon of Glendale, Calif.; his mother and stepfather, Martha K. and Ray Palladine of Thermal, Calif.; two brothers, Mark Palladine of Palm Springs, Calif. and Monte Palladine of Thermal, Calif.; one sister, Johanna Whiteside of Kenia, Alaska and four grandchildren.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday in "The Chapel" of Lockstone Funeral Home in Weatherford. The Rev. Ozzie Byrum officiated. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Research Foundation in Oklahoma City.
