Mark A. Austin died Tuesday at the age of 70.

Richard Lee Ross
Richard Lee Ross died Tuesday at the age of 66.
The Harrah resident was born to Claude Warren and Evah Mae Ross July 15, 1934. He was baptized in the Fist Baptist Church of Harrah at the age of 12. He married Martha Pinkston on Oct. 24, 1958. He served in the U.S. Navy, was a 32nd degree Mason and was a retired plumber and electrician.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother.
Survivors include one sister and brother-in-law, Leah and Doyle Thompson of Harrah, Martha Ross of Harrah, four children, Marcie Kittle of Harrah, Rocky Warren Ross of Harrah, Danny Wayne Ross of McLoud and Tammy Miller of Harrah, seven grandchildren, four aunts, one nephew, several cousins and a host of friends.
He also was married to Carolyn Hyams, with whom he had three children, Kathy, Daniel and Melony, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Services in Harrah. Memorials may be made to medical research or the charity of donor's choice.
Walter D. Wasson
Walter D. Wasson, 80, Shawnee, died Wednesday in an Oklahoma City hospital. Services are pending with Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.
Clay Honeycutt
Clay Honeycutt died Saturday at a Grove hospital after a brief illness. He was 84.
Honeycutt was born Feb. 13, 1916, in Meeker to James Marcus Honeycutt and Maudie Pearl Curtis Honeycutt. He worked many years doing bridge work in Kansas and managing apartments in New Mexico.
Survivors include two sons, David Honeycutt of Shawnee; Leonard Honeycutt of Redwood City, Calif.; four daughters, Dolly Carter and Martha Williams, both of Shawnee; Janie Norred of Oklahoma City; Ginger Stout of Midwest City; close friend, Viola Cook of Grove and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The Ellis Family Funeral Home, 107 N. Broadway, Grove, is in charge of arrangements.
Graveside services were held Thursday at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker.
Evelyn (Lahonda) Megah
Evelyn (Lahonda) Megah of Shawnee died Wednesday at a local hospital. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.
Rhoda R. Schrahl
Rhoda R. Schrahl of Shawnee died Thursday at a local hospital. She was 79.
She was born Aug. 2, 1921, in Meeker. She was the daughter of Walter and Lorena Russell.
She worked for OG&E in the 1950s and for KGFF. She married Lester Schrahl in 1953.
Mrs. Schrahl had lived in Shawnee since 1973.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband in 1971.
Survivors include her daughter, Virginia Schrahl, Shawnee, and several cousins.
A private burial was held Thursday at Resthaven Memorial Park, under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.
Mark Alfred Austin
Mark Alfred Austin of Shawnee died Tuesday at a local hospital. He was 70.
He was born Feb. 3, 1930, in Oklahoma City. He was the son of Emil Merkel Austin and Merna Agnes (Thompson) Austin.
He attended Asher Public School. He worked as a mud mixer for a variety of brick laying companies.
He married Bessie Lorine Tuggle on November 1968 in Little Axe. He served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of the Labor Union No. 612 in Oklahoma City.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Bessie on Dec. 9, 1993.
Survivors include one daughter, Donna Hobbs of Shawnee; four grandchildren, Sherie Ames of Ardmore; Angie Snodgrass of Konawa; Tina Hobbs of Shawnee; Mandy Peterson of Konawa; nine great-grandchildren, Ashley Hughes, Amy Hughes, Thomas Hughes, Lacey Ames, Taylor Snodgrass, Lance Snodgrass, Garrett Peterson, Tallauah Jones, Shakira Hobbs and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Resthaven Home Funeral Chapel with Dr. Dean Hudlow and Kenny Echieson officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Irene (Norman) Gillham
Irene (Norman) Gillham, Maud, died Wednesday at a local hospital. She was 81.
She was a lifelong Maud resident, born Aug. 17, 1918, to Dan D. and Dessie O. (Cole) Norman. She married Coy A. Gillham July 2, 1934, at Hazel, Okla.
She and her husband owned and operated the Fina Gas Station in Maud for many years. Mrs. Gillham, a homemaker, was a member of the Maud Trinity Baptist Church and Maud City Council from 1985 to 1994.
She was preceded in death by her husband, sons Lindell D. Gillham and Charles D. Gillham, and daughter Omie Jean Gillham Patterson.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul R. and Joanie Gillham of Tecumseh and Leonard D. and Beverly Gillham of Tecumseh, nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. One sister, Ethel Mae Campbell of Selma, Calif., also survives Mrs. Gillham.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Wolf Cemetery under the direction of Knight Funeral Home.
Walter D. Wasson
Walter D. Wasson, Shawnee, died Wednesday in Oklahoma City following a lengthy illness. He was 80.
He was born on Nov. 15, 1919, in Corning, N.Y., to David A. and Susan Wasson. He completed work at the Corning Free Academy in 1937 and Syracuse University in 1941, earning a bachelor of science in business administration.
He worked for approximately 30 years for Corning Glassworks, Inc., in various supervisory capacities in Muskogee, Okla.; Corning, N.Y.; Oneonta, N.Y.; and Shawnee.
Wasson founded Databank, Inc., in Shawnee and was a consultant for Shawnee's Federal National Bank.
On April 20, 1944, he married Mary Thompson Payne in Rainbridge, N.Y. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1941 and served in World War II, receiving an honorable discharge in 1945.
He was a member of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity, Boy Scouts USA, Girl Scouts, Camp Fire Girls, Christ Church Episcopal Church of Corning, Rotary Club and Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Shawnee.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Beatrice Sackett, Raymond Wasson, and Genevieve Peterson.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, who resides in Shawnee; two daughters and sons-in-law, Chris and Charlie Duryee of Trenton, N.J., and Mary Jane and Ron Hughes of Oklahoma City; two sons and daughters-in-law, D. Keith and Betty Wasson of Roland and David K. and Audrey Wasson of Shawnee, 10 granddaughters and their spouses, Betty and Scott Larson, Hightstown, N.J., Sandra and Pat Spencer, Geneseo, N.Y., Katelynn Wasson, Roland, Brandi and Justin Johnson, Tecumseh, Cherry Brooke Wasson and Susan Wasson, both of Shawnee, Kelley Hughes, Oklahoma City, Tammy Duryee, Liz Wasson and Gertrude Hughes; five grandsons and their spouses, David Bostwick, Geneseo, N.Y., Bryan and Mellissa Wasson and Stephen and Christy Wasson, all of Roland; Logan Wasson, Shawnee, and Eric Hughes, Oklahoma City.; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Shawnee. The Rev. Janie Kirt Morris will officiate under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Columbarium at Emmanuel Episcopal Church. Memorials may be made to the Emmanuel Episcopal Church Endowment Fund or the Oklahoma Medical Research Fund (OMRF).
Irvy L. Ginn
Irvy L. Ginn died Thursday in Houston, Texas. He was 90.
He was born on Sept. 26, 1909, in Tribbey to Theodore and Hattie Ginn. He attended Tribbey and Wanette schools.
He was married to LaDora Ginn for 57 years before her death. He was an executive with Sears and Roebuck, Co., retiring to Orange County in 1970. He was president of the Fort Worth chapter of American Association of Retired Persons.
Preceding him in death were his wife and son David Ginn.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Cheryl Ginn of San Antonio, Texas, Chris and Donna Ginn of Houston, Texas, James and Elizabeth Ginn of Fort Worth, Texas, Jeff Ginn of Ontario, Canada, and Peggy Ginn of Gresham, Ore., 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Cy Fair Northwest Funeral Home of Houston. Burial will be in the Memorial Oaks Cemetery, also in Houston. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
