Mary Jane (Brown) Brawdy
Mary Jane (Brown) Brawdy of Seminole died Saturday at a Henryetta hospital. She was 83.
She was born Aug. 17, 1916, in Seminole the daughter of Albert Quille Brown and Annie Pearl (Vaughn) Brown.
She married Harvey Jewel Brawdy May 31, 1933, in Wewoka. He preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 1964. She retired after 35 years with C.R. Anthony's as a sales associate.
After retirement she was an in-home provider for the elderly. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bowlegs and a former member of the Rebekah Lodge.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Bill James Brawdy on July 26, 1997; three brothers; two sisters; and one granddaughter, Karoyn Kay Bell in 1996.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Jesse "Arnie" Jones of Seminole; daughter-in-law, Retta Brawdy of Seminole; two cousins, Dorothy Pearson and Hattie Bender, both of Seminole; 12 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bowlegs First Baptist Church with the Rev. Herb Prater officiating. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Mary C. Smith
Mary C. Smith of Shawnee died Saturday at a local nursing home. She was 83.
She was born Oct. 11, 1916, in Omaha, Neb., the daughter of Richard Brelsford and Beada (Maud) Brelsford Meyers.
She was a retired employee of Griffin Memorial Hospital in Norman.
She married Howard Earl Smith on July 5, 1933, in Parsons, Kan.
Mrs. Smith was a member of the Assembly of God faith. She lived in the Wewoka and Shawnee areas most of her life.
Survivors include one grandson and spouse, Darryl and Kelli Bordeaux of Tecumseh; three great-grandchildren, Jacklyn, Darylen and Evan Bordeaux of Tecumseh; one step-granddaughter and spouse, Debbie and Joe Cruz of Shawnee; one step grandson, Lee Bordeaux; three step-great-grandchildren, one step-great-great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Little Cemetery with the Rev. Fred Owens officiating. Burial will be at Little Cemetery under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.
Arnold Ray Royster Sr.
Shawnee resident Arnold Ray Royster Sr. died Friday at a local hospital. He was 64.
He was born June 30, 1936, in Bowlegs the son of Troy Royster and Daisy (McCary) Royster.
He worked as a truck driver and supervisor for Farm Fresh Dairy, Chandler, for the past 23 years. He married Ursula Hoezel on Dec. 18, 1964, in Augsburg, Germany.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1968, serving in Germany, where he met his wife Ursula. He attended Hazel Dell Baptist Church in Shawnee.
He was preceded in death by his father, Troy Royster on March 9, 1985.
Survivors include his wife, Ursula Royster of the home; two sons, Michael Royster of Shawnee and Arnold "A.R." Royster Jr. of Chandler; two daughters, Michaela Cook of Ponca City and Brenda Garrett of Patterson, Colo.; his mother, Daisy Royster of Ada; one brother, Kenneth Royster of Thayer, Mo.; and one sister, Darla Carter of Wynnewood.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hazel Dell Baptist with the Rev. Monte Campbell officiating. Burial will be 1 p.m. at Swan Hill Cemetery, Ada, under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.
Beulah B. Weston
Shawnee resident Beulah B. Weston, 89, died Friday at a local nursing home.
A graveside service will be held for her at 10 a.m. Monday at Trinity Chapel, Resthaven Memorial Park, with Don Sullivan officiating. Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel will be in charge of the service.
She was born Dec. 17, 1910, in Maud to Thomas and Sarah Shelton.
On March 14, 1938, she married Carl R. Weston in Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death on March 30, 1967.
Mrs. Weston was reared in Maud and moved to the Shawnee area in 1928. She was a seamstress for many years at Shawnee Garment Factory.
She was a member of Central Church of Christ.
Mrs. Weston also was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by a twin, Eula Fore of Shawnee; niece, Wanda Ray of Shawnee; and nephew, Tom Self of Vancouver, Wash.
Lena Rogers Sanders
Lena Rogers Sanders of Asher died Monday in Shawnee. She was 93.
She was born March 15, 1907, in Romulus the daughter of Henry and Grace (Thompson) Rogers.
She attended school at Romulus and was reared on a farm.
Following her marriage, on Jan. 22, 1927, to Barney W. Sanders, she lived in the Saint Louis and Pearson areas. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Sanders was a member of Pearson Baptist Church, where she served as treasurer for 34 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 15, 1974; her parents; one sister; and three brothers.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Billy Ray and Bettie Sanders of Etiwanda, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Joe Simmons of Macomb; sister, Edith Null of Pittsburg, Calif.; step-sister, Lou Wallgren of Macomb; seven grandchildren, Vicki Morris, Diane Wuelfing, Michelle Berry, Jeffrey Sanders, Brent Simmons, April O'Ryan and Shannon Browning; 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Pearson Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Ballard, pastor of Pearson Baptist Church, and Clifton Briscoe, pastor of Living Word Church, Shawnee, officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
Frances Bell Knox
Frances Bell "Granny" Knox of Harrah died Friday. She was 93.
She was born to Jacob and Estella (Rush) McGauthy July 15, 1906, in Tecumseh, (Oklahoma Territory).
She was preceded in death by her two sons, Rondal Royce Knox and Howard Arlington Knox.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Bill C. and Dolores Knox, Sr., Larry and Julie Knox and Dudley B. Jr. and Gerldean Knox; 11 grandchildren and their spouses, DeAnn and Mike Bower, Curt and Cherri Knox, R.B. Knox, Marcel and Cherry Knox, Brad and Sara Hancock, Shannon and Dedria Hancock, Jaquita and Roger Koltz, Debra Sullivan, Randy Knox, Danelia and Glen Smallwood, Rosie Burk; 23 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
Services will be 10 a.m. today at Asa Smith Funeral Chapel, Harrah, with burial at Brown Cemetery, Tecumseh. Arrangements are under the direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service.
Florence Mildred (Dunlap) Sally
Florence Mildred (Dunlap) Sally died Sunday in Oklahoma City. She was 61.
She was born Oct. 29, 1938, in Oklahoma City the daughter of Frank and Mildred (Shields) Reid Dunlap.
She was a resident of Stroud for the past 24 years, and a member of the Church of Christ in Stroud. She worked as a nursing assistant.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; one son; and one granddaughter.
Survivors include three daughters, Debbie Hill of Stroud, Trudy Pruitt of Chandler and Donna Davenport of Prague; two brothers, Frank Dunlap of Talihina and Gary Reid of Perkins; four sisters, Sharon Lynch of Chandler, Shirley Miles of Sacramento, Calif., Vera Mumbower of Sacramento, Calif., and Patricia Myron of Houston, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Church in Stroud with the Rev. Sandy Chace officiating. Burial will be in the Stroud Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Stroud.
Addie M. Weaver McFarland
Addie M. Weaver McFarland, formerly of Shawnee, died Monday at an Ardmore hospital. She was 81.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Liberty Baptist Church. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Seminole.

John Harold Crow
John Harold Crow died Saturday. He was 83.
He was born Jan. 30, 1917, in Grapevine, Texas, to Erskine and Lela (York) Crow. After high school graduation, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
On April 19, 1986, he married Virginia L. Tener.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gerry.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia of the home; five sons, Larry Crow, Don Crow, J.R. Crow, Mark Tener and Jim Tener; one daughter, Linda Woody; four brothers, Floyd Crow, William Crow, Olan Crow and E.J. Crow; two sisters, Mary Willis and Mildred Ziegler; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Southpark Baptist Church. Graveside services will be 3:30 p.m. at the Tecumseh Mission Cemetery, Tecumseh.
Services are under the direction of Vondel L. Smith and Son Mortuary, Oklahoma City. Memorial contributions may be made to the Southpark Baptist Church Building Fund.
