Duane Caudle

Duane Caudle of Houston, Texas, died Aug. 6 in Houston. He was 66.

He was born May 2, 1933, in Leedey, Okla., to Frank and Julia Caudle.

He moved to Maud where he grew up and attended school. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.

In 1956, he married Jane Carter in Shawnee.

He was employed by Phillips Petroleum for 35 years.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Caudle, two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary and Chris Moore, and Lisa Caudle Hosenmiller; Four sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Maria Caudle, Brian and Dotty Caudle, John and Minerva Caudle and Kevin Caudle and Susan Caudle, all of Houston, Texas; sister, Mozell Thomason, Calif.; brother, Russell Caudle, Texas; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Caudle, St. Louis, Okla.; and grandchildren, Julia, Erika, Christopher, Michael, Kyle, Gustav, Stacy, Julian, William, Cody and Ava.

Funeral services will be held today at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Houston, Texas.

Elihue Harris Benjamin Troglin Sr.

Elihue Harris Benjamin "Harry" Troglin Sr., Seminole, died Tuesday at his home. He was 90.

Troglin was born on Dec. 16, 1909, in Claremore, the son of Elihue Millagan and Eva May (Blanchard) Troglin.

He married Delora Ruby Foreman. He had retired from the City Service Oil Co. in 1965.

Troglin was a member of the Coney Island Tabernacle.

He moved to Seminole from Tulsa in 1940.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Delora Troglin; and a son, James Levi Troglin.

Survivors include his three sons, Paul Troglin, Charles Troglin and Harry Troglin Jr., all of Bowlegs; three daughters, Pauline Crews, Oklahoma City; Sonja Batesel, Bowlegs; Ruby Meek, Seminole; a brother and sister-in-law, James W. and Margaret Troglin, Seminole; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Wolf Cemetery in Seminole with the Rev. Charles Troglin officiating, assisted by Lee Wayne Fowler.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Nina Quisenberry

Seminole resident Nina Quisenberry died Monday in an Oklahoma City hospital. She was 78.

Mrs. Quisenberry was born on Nov. 7, 1921, in West Virginia to Grant and Pearl Henson.

She married Eugene Ralph Quisenberry on Sept. 10, 1947, in Mount Sterling, Ky.

She worked as a cook at Pioneer Nursing Home. She later worked at Wrangler as a supervisor in the parts department, before retiring in 1987. Following her retirement, she was a hostess at McDonald's.

Mrs. Quisenberry was a member of Covenant Life Family Church in Seminole.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Quisenberry; her parents, Grant and Pearl Henson; and a brother.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Becky Quisenberry, Seminole; three sisters, Kathryn Mauer and Sherry Mattox, Ohio; Francis Yohman, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Myron Henson, Ohio; Grant Henson, Hawaii; grandchildren, Michael and Heather Quisenberry, Quinton and Kristin Quisenberry, and Steven Quisenberry, all of Seminole; two great-grandchildren; her extended family includes Gene and Betty Davis, their children and grandchildren; and lifelong friend, Elizabeth Franklin, Seminole.

Viewing will be Saturday, Sunday and Monday at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Marion Hadsell officiating.

Burial will be in Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Betty Jean Williams

Betty Jean Williams, 71, Wellston died Tuesday in Oklahoma City.

She was born July 24, 1928, in Oakdale, Okla., to James and Gertrude (Phillips) Martin.

She married Ben F. Williams on May 3, 1947, in Wellston. He preceded her in death Jan. 26, 1997.

She was a cook and homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Wellston.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Survivors include one son, Jimmy Williams, Luther; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Gary Keller, Chandler; Karen and John Webster, Chandler; three brothers, Doyle Martin, Stockton, Calif.; Richard Martin, Volcano, Calif.; Wendell Martin, Stockton, Calif.; two sisters, Shirlene Eberhart, Brentwood, Calif.; Maxine Grant, Stockton, Calif.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church of Wellston with the Rev. Alan Small and the Rev. Thom Chappelle officiating. Burial will follow in the Wellston Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home of Chandler.

Billie Carolyn Pippin

Billie Carolyn Pippin of Seminole died Wednesday. She was 68.

She was born June 14, 1931, in Shawnee. She was the daughter of W.C. Reed and Willie C. (Gates) Reed.

She married Lee Pippin on Oct. 20, 1973, at First Baptist Church in Seminole.

Pippin worked at Shawnee Medical Center from 1965-1970 and for the Oklahoma Employment Development Department for the State of Oklahoma for 25 years.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church since 1959, past president of the Women's Missionary Union at First Baptist. Mrs. Pippin attended Bowlegs and Seminole schools, Nazarene College and Ottawa University in Chanute, Kan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Joe K. Hendryx in 1993 and brother Cecil K. Reed.

Survivors include her husband, Lee Pippin of the home; three sons, David L. Hendryx of Corona Del Mar, Calif.; Randy Hendryx of Fullerton, Calif.; Micah Pippin of Baltimore, Md.; daughter, Sandy Inman of Athens, Ala.; three sisters, Zelpha P. Fair of Seminole; Jewel G. Kirk of Ada; Nelda E. Lacquement of Midwest City; three grandchildren, Tim and John Inman; Elizabeth Ann Pippin.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Seminole with Dr. Kelvin Moseley officiating. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Hobert James Bowen

Hobert "Hobie" James Bowen of Meeker died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, at home with his family. He was 75.

He was born Jan. 12, 1924, in Virginia to Henry and Nina Bowen. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at age 17.

Bowen married Wanda Beaman Feb. 14, 1953. They lived in Meeker 37 years in the house Bowen built. He retired from Tinker Air Force Base.

Preceding him in death were his mother and his father.

Surviving are his wife, Wanda Bowen of Meeker; daughter Shirley Bowen of Florida; son Michael Bowen of Moore; son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Nicole Bowen of Meeker; sister Alberta Matroy of Medford, New Jersey; brothers Earl Bowen of Seminole; Gilmer and Tommy Bowen, both of Meeker; granddaughters Christinia Jenkins of Shawnee; Jamie Bowen of Moore; great-grandson Austin Jenkins of Shawnee; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial to celebrate his life will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Meeker City Hall.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Shawnee.

Francis Jean (Carr) Hearn

Francis Jean (Carr) Hearn died Friday in Oklahoma City. She was 58.

Mrs. Hearn previously resided in Shawnee and Earlsboro.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Evangelistic Center in Shawnee, under the direction of Temple and Sons Funeral Home of Oklahoma City.

Clarence Wayne Garrison

Clarence Wayne Garrison, Shawnee, died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was 47.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Roesch Walker Funeral Chapel of Shawnee.
