Robert Bruce Robertson
Robert Bruce Robertson, 64, a longtime Seminole resident, died Friday in Oklahoma City following a brief illness.
He was born Sept. 29, 1933, in Purcell to James Matt and Viola Mae Penny Robertson. He graduated from Central High School, Oklahoma City, in 1951 and earned a bachelor of science in geology from the University of Oklahoma in 1959. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He married Elizabeth Ann Adwan on March 3, 1956, in Seminole. He moved to Seminole in 1969, where he was a co-owner of Adwan's Specialty Shop. He was the U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of Oklahoma at the time of his death.
He belonged to many civic organizations, was inducted into the Seminole Hall of Fame in 1981 and was past president of the Seminole Chamber of Commerce. Robertson served on many boards, including the Seminole Municipal Hospital and the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Seminole.
He was preceded in death by his father his parents-in-law and a niece.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; his mother, Oklahoma City; his son and daughter-in-law, Rob and Mary Robertson, Norman; son Bruce Robertson, Edmond; his sister and brother-in-law, Clara and Gerald McPhail, Bethany; brother and sister-in-law Jim and Patty Robertson, Tulsa; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Alex and Teresa Adwan, Tulsa; two grandchildren, Alex and Elizabeth Robertson, Norman; and one niece and three nephews.
Graveside services
will held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Maple Grove Cemetery, Seminole. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church, Seminole. Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
Juanita Welch
Welty area resident Juanita Welch died Tuesday in Oklahoma City at the age of 86.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Welty Church of God. Burial will be at Welty Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Okemah.
Mrs. Welch was born Sept. 29, 1911, in Sterling, Okla., to James Doud Cook and Narissa Passmore. She married Charlie Elmo Welch on May 18, 1945, in Okemah.
She was a homemaker and a longtime member of the Welty Church of God.
Survivors include a brother-in-law and wife, Joy and Dean Welch of Oklahoma City; a sister-in-law, Lillie Crook of Beggs; 11 nephews and four nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 23, 1963, her parents, three brothers and a sister.
Virginia Ann Taft
Virginia Ann "Ginny" Taft, 43, died Sunday after a brief illness.
She was born Nov. 4, 1954, to Aubra and Tommie Kinyon and was raised in Shawnee. She graduated from Shawnee High School in 1973 and from Bauder College in Arlington, Texas.
She resided in Oklahoma City for 17 years before moving to Broken Arrow in 1992. She was a customer service coordinator for Ryder Truck Company.
She is survived by her children, Emily Harrington, 12, and Joshua Taft, 6; her parents, Aubra and Tommie Kinyon, Tulsa; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Larry Feldman, Tulsa; brother, Charles Kinyon, Norman, and niece and nephew, Amira and Seth Feldman, Tulsa.
Memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Bethany Christian Church in Tulsa. A benefit fund for her children has been established at Citizens Bank, P.O. Box 27127, Tulsa OK 74149.
Julius Edwin Wright
Sparks resident Julius Edwin "Jude" Wright died Monday in Shawnee. He was 95.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel, Prague, with the Rev. Ronald Walker officiating. Burial will follow in White Dove Cemetery, Sparks.
Wright was born June 23, 1903, in Lexington, Ky., to J.E. and Rose (Jessie) Wright. He married Glenna Winifred North on Dec. 24, 1933.
Wright was a retired farmer and a member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Grant and Ruth Williams and Charles and Sadie Wright, all of Sparks; daughters and sons-in-law, Melba and Ralph Fisher, Sparks; Vella and Nick Barnett, Norman; Glenda Sue and Tom Glass, Colleyville, Texas; Judith Ann and James Warde, Dallas, Texas; 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and many other friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his wife on Feb. 12, 1981, his parents, two brothers and one grandson.
Carl S. Winchester
Tecumseh resident Carl S. Winchester died Tuesday at the age of 65.
Memorial services will be held in Maryland under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.
Winchester was born Dec. 29, 1932, to David and Dorothy (Baggett) Winchester.
He served in the U.S. Air Force Strategic Air Command in Europe and during the Korean War.
Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Anderson, Gloucester, Md.; daughter, Marcia Lipetzky, Mustang; stepdaughter, Lisa Halloway, Palm Desert, Calif.; stepson, Lance Halloway, Arizona; brothers, Jim Winchester, Vermont; Dick and Norman Winchester, Maryland; Bob Sagavinia, Washington; sisters, Faye Pratini and Shirley Vasalio, California; Helen Blaichford, Maryland; grandchildren, Michael and Monique Kiviaho, Mariya and Marcus Lipetzkey, Mustang; and his friend Betty Cartwright, Tecumseh.
He was preceded in death by his wife, La Raine; his father; brothers, Gardiner Winchester, Kenny Winchester, Henry Sagavinia and George Sagavinia.
Rosa Lee Margerum
Shawnee resident Rosa Lee Margerum died July 26 at her residence. She was 77.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Emmanuel Episcopal Church under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Janie Kirt Morris officiating.
Minnie B. Plew
Carlsbad, N.M. resident Minnie B. Plew died Friday. She was 89.
Plew was born Sept. 19, 1908, to George W. and Willie Bell Sawyer Adams in Manitou, Okla. She married Leo E. "Turk" Plew on Feb. 15, 1942.
Plew received her bachelor degree in Weatherford in 1940 and taught school in Oklahoma for 14 years. She moved to Carlsbad, N.M., in 1958 where she worked for Carlsbad Municipal Schools for 15 years.
She was a Methodist and a member of the Retired Teachers Association of Carlsbad, Retired Teachers Association of New Mexico and was on the Board of Directors for Camp Fire Girls in Oklahoma and Carlsbad.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at West Funeral Home Chapel, Carlsbad, N.M., with Chaplain Erwin Van Essen officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Jim Reid, Midland, Texas; two grandchildren, Leslie Jones, Midland, Texas, and Cindy Payne, Dallas; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1981, one brother and one sister.

Bell Scott
Macomb resident Bell Scott died Saturday in Oklahoma City. She was 87.
Graveside services
will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Romulus Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh, with the Rev. Darrell Witten officiating.
Scott was born Dec. 16, 1910, in Maud to Tom and Isabel (Bennett) Hargus. She married Dell Scott on March 17, 1933, in Purcell.
Scott attended school at Romulus and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband Dell Scott, of the home; daughters, Louise Scott, Macomb; Jane Scott, Tecumseh; Sandy Early, Harrah; son, Tom Scott, Macomb; two granchildren, Richard Alkire, Seminole, and Douglas Scott, Prague; two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and four brothers.
Thelma Lehman
Thelma Lehman, 78, Konawa, died Sunday.
She was born Nov. 21, 1919, in Oakman to Nettie and Ezra Hunt. She married Bernard Lehman in 1948 and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, on July 10, 1979; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter.
She is survived by two daughters, Zelma McCraw, Konawa, and Rita Graham, Cahoun, Ill.; son Robert Honsinger, Konawa; seven sisters, Vera Bratcher, Roff; LaVelle Wallis, Ada; Marjorie Vandegriff, Ada; Sadie Daniels, Tulsa; Virginia Maxey, Red Oak; Jean George, Hooke, Texas; June McCann, Moyock, N.C.; four brothers, Floyd Hunt, Ada; Marvin Hunt, Roff; David Hunt, Fayetteville, N.C.; and Kenneth Hunt, Georgia; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Services will be 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Pickard Funeral Chapel, with Larry Weatherman officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
