Betty J. Boland
Shawnee resident Betty J. Boland died Friday in Oklahoma City. She was 60.
Graveside services
will be 10 a.m. Monday at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh, with Rev. Bill Matthews and Phil Thompson officiating.
Mrs. Boland was born Jan. 29, 1938, in Willow, Okla., to William Fred and Ida (Thompson) Lankford. She married Kenneth Boland on July 25, 1956, at Falls Creek Baptist Assembly.
She graduated from Choctaw High School and moved to Shawnee in 1956. She was a waitress at the Town Talk Cafe and the Grand Cafe and had worked for Jerry Casey Insurance Agency. She was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Boland Sr., of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Roberta and Pat Kelly, Tecumseh; Becky and Gerald Barnhill, Cushing; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Kim Boland Jr., Macomb; son, Keith Boland, Shawnee; 13 grandchildren; niece, Jacquie Rummell, Scottsdale, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Vida Johnson and Eula Lankford; nephew, William Curtis Johnson.
John Raymond Knapp
Retired printer John Raymond Knapp died Saturday at a local hospital. He was 77.
Graveside services
will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Neal Cemetery under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.
The Earlsboro resident was born March 21, 1921, in San Bernadino, Calif., to George B. and Cora (Green) Knapp. He graduated from high school in San Bernadino, Calif., and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Phillipines.
He married Betty Aldridge on April 12, 1943, in Oklahoma City, and had lived in Earlsboro since 1980. He was a member of the Lions Club and the Girl Scouts of America.
Survivors include his wife, Betty, of the home; four daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Carmen Miranda of Hesperia, Calif., Nancy and Jeff Nalley of Shawnee, Rabecca and Mark White of Earlsboro, Melinda and Danny Billingsley of Earlsboro; two brothers, George B. Knapp of Seminole, Charles Peak of Los Angeles, Calif.; a sister, Claudia Sevetkovich of San Bernadino, Calif.; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother.
Nell Herring
Former Harrah resident Nell Herring died Thursday in Breckenridge, Texas. She was 84.
Graveside services
will be 3 p.m. today at Memory Lane Cemetery in Harrah under the direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service.
Mrs. Herring was born Jan. 3, 1914, in Whittington, Ark. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Del Rae Stump of Breckenridge, Texas; a sister, Ruby Cumbie of Harrah; a brother, Charles Caldwell of Norman; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Glenda Wiles
Former McLoud resident Glenda Wiles, Denver, Colo., died Thursday at the age of 37.
Services were held Saturday in McLoud at the Logan Family Cemetery under the direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service.
She was born July 12, 1960, in Pawnee.
Cleo Hazel Murry
Newalla resident Cleo Hazel Murry died Friday at the age of 92.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Asa Smith Funeral Chapel in Harrah. Burial will be at Arlington Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Murry was born Jan. 12, 1906, in Ardmore, to Elijah Spencer and Rose Ella Moseby Miller. She had resided in Newalla since 1971 and attended the Newalla Church of Christ.
Survivors include four sons, William S. Murry of Norman, Oliver Murry of Newalla, Richard Murry of Midwest City, Ronald Murry of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Ruth Donnell of Midwest City, Yvonne Murry of Newalla; a sister, Nellie Brumbelow of Lawton; nine grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Earl Wayne Donahoo
Korean War veteran Earl Wayne Donahoo died Friday at a local hospital at the age of 66.
Graveside services
will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa under the direction of Moore Funeral Homes in Tulsa.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Donahoo was born Jan. 27, 1932, in Shawnee, and moved from Tulsa to Indepedence, Mo., in 1963.
He had been a machinist with Machinery Spare Parts in Independence, Mo., since 1969, and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Joann C. Donahoo of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Gregory A. and Linda Donahoo of St. Charles, Mo.; a daughter and son-in-law, Gail A. and Lyle Wallis of Fort Collins, Colo.; two brothers, Bert Donahoo of Albuquerque, N.M., Wallie Donahoo Jr. of San Mateo, Calif; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty Jo and Verl Williams of Tulsa; three grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ada Maude Gallaway
Meeker resident Ada Maude Gallaway died Thursday at her home. She was 94.
Mrs. Gallaway was born May 22, 1904, in McLoud to Homer and Lorena (Winn) Boland. She married Arthur J. Gallaway Sept. 6, 1919, in Tecumseh.
Mrs. Gallaway lived most of her life in Meeker, where she was a member of the Mammoth Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur J. Gallaway, of the home; son, Charles Gallaway, Meeker; daughter, Tressie Brown, Meeker; brother, Calvin Boland, Bolder City, Nev.; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, two brothers and one sister.
Services were Saturday at Mammoth Baptist Church, Meeker, with the Rev. Merle Jensen officiating. Burial followed in New Salem Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Chandler.
John E. Fleeman Jr.
Ardmore resident John E. Fleeman Jr. died Friday in Ardmore. He was 36.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Matthews and Phil Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.
Fleeman was born Sept. 10, 1961, in Texas to John E. and Judith Garner Fleeman Sr. He moved to Shawnee in 1984, then moved to Ardmore in 1993.
He was a construction worker and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Fleeman, of the home; son, Scott Fleeman, Shawnee; father, John E. Fleeman Sr., Houston, Texas; sisters and brothers-in-law, Chris and Jim Clifford, Newalla; Debbie and Steve Perez, Lake Hills, Texas; grandmother, Mary Bell Fleeman, Houston; grandparents, Leon and Hilda Garner, Cahokia, Ill.; a niece, nephew and many other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Judy Fleeman, and grandfather, Earl Fleeman.
Lonnie Ray Mills Sr.
Lonnie Ray Mills Sr. of Shawnee died Sunday at the age of 59.
He was born Oct. 13, 1938, to Mary and Leon Mills. He grew up in the home of his grandparents, J.O. and Mable Mills. He served in the U.S. Air Force and worked as a heavy duty diesel mechanic at LeeWay and the Oklahoma Publishing Company until he retired at the age of 47.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Jeanne Vick Mills of the Shawnee home; parents, Leon Mills of Texas and Mary Gorton of California; siblings, Gloria Gorton, Washington, Mary Jo Zyski, Nevada, Charles Gorton, California, and Buddy and Elayne Mills, Texas; his children, Johnny Mills, Lawanna Burns, Timmy Mills, Lonnie II and Tricia Mills, Brandon and Missy Mills, and Benjamin Mills, all of Oklahoma; stepchildren, Nancy and Frankie Spears, Jesse Eshbach and Bill and Jamie Stoops, all of Oklahoma, Ann and John Logan, Idaho, Jonathon Stoops, U.S. Army; grandchildren, Lori, Michelle, Lonnie III, Reanna, Johnny II, Joseph, Misty, Haley, Scott, Hannah, Abigail and Bill, Sheenia, Susan, Autumn and Micah, J.P., Charles, Amber, Sheena, Ricky, Levi and Dylan, and four great-grandchildren.
A private service was held. Memorial tree plantings are suggested.
Murlene LaRhue Plank
Hinton homemaker Murlene LaRhue Plank died Monday in an Oklahoma City hospital at the age of 67.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Gracemont Assembly of God Church in Gracemont with the Rev. Goff officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
Mrs. Plank was born Jan. 7, 1931, in Lindsay, to William D. Green and Hazel R. Price Green. She attended Capitol Hill High School in Oklahoma City and married Jesse Plank on Jan. 29, 1949, in Oklahoma City.
She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church and had lived in Hinton for 25 years.
Survivors include her husband, Jesse Plank; five children, Bonnie Gene Wixson of Del City, Gayla Lynne Weeden of Earlsboro, Danny Ray Plank of Oklahoma City, Randy Lee Plank of Shawnee, and Johnny Paul Plank of Maud; a sister, Maxine Hoover of Lubbock, Texas; two brothers, Glenn Green of Prague and Gene Green of Oklahoma City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William D. Green and Hazel R. Price Plank; a grandchild, Shantrel Plank; a great-grandchild, Shasta Murlene Wixson.
