Lorra Lee Manley
Lorra Lee Manley, 37, Wanette, died Friday.
She was born Nov. 7, 1960, in Odessa, Texas. She grew up in Texas and Louisiana. She was married to Gary Manley and had lived in Wanette for the past four years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Wanette Penecostal Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; daughter, Sharonda Manley, and sons, James and Randall Manley, all of the home; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will begin a 1 p.m. today at Cooper Chapel, Wanette. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Wanette Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will be in Wanette Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
James Reece Jr.
Seminole resident James Reece Jr. died Thursday in an Oklahoma City hospital. He was 69.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel, Seminole, with Larry Foster, Progressive Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Westwood Cemetery.
He was born in Seminole on Jan. 9, 1929, the son of James and Opal (Sturgeon) Reece. He had served in the U.S. Army and was a disabled veteran. He was Baptist.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two sons, Stephen Tony Reece and Larry Reece, and a sister, Berniece Sturgeon.
Survivors include three daughters, Charolette Wright, Seminole, Dianne Reece, Oklahoma City, and LaJuanda Reece, Tulsa; niece, Juaquitta Culton, Oklahoma City, and three grandchildren.
Mamie L. Ferguson
Mamie L. Ferguson of Harrah died Thursday at the age of 81.
She was born Oct. 16, 1916, in Steadman, Okla., to Victor V. and Stella B. Gillespy Cole.
She attended East Central State College in Ada and the Blackwood Business College in Oklahoma City. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Harrah, and was retired from Tinker Air Force Base.
She married John F. Ferguson in Oklahoma City on March 2, 1940, and they moved to Harrah in 1950.
Survivors include her husband, John; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Linda, John Robert and Peggy, all of Harrah; sister, Virginia Hawkins, Sanger, Calif.; five grandchildren, John R. Ferguson II, Thomas W. Ferguson, Jennifer Hofeld, Danny E. Ferguson, and Keith A. Ferguson, and three great-grandchildren.
A grandson, Patrick, preceded her in death.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Harrah First Baptist Church with burial in Memory Lane Cemetery under the direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service.
Fannie Betty Ellis
Seminole homemaker Fannie Betty Ellis died Friday in Oklahoma City at the age of 70.
She was born in Lincoln County on Jan. 20, 1928, to John Thomas Morrison and Annie (Leavitt) Morrison. She married Clyde Vernon Ellis on Feb. 5, 1944, in Seminole County and was a homemaker. She was a member of Little Assembly of God Church.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Clyde Ellis, in 1962; her parents; a son, Jessie Ellis; a daughter, Brenda Ellis, and three sisters.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Linda Ellis, Seminole; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Bob Williams, Little; daughter, Judy Ellis, Tecumseh; sister and brother-in-law, Londa and Charles Canada, Anadarko; six grandchildren, Janette Ellis, Jelessa and Marlin Brinkman, Michelle (Williams) and Jason Kelley, Jessica Ellis, Scott Ellis, Stephanie Ellis; four great-grandchildren, and many other relatives.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel, Seminole, with the Rev. Robert Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Little Cemetery.
William Raymond Jacobs
Former Shawnee resident William Raymond Jacobs, 38, Eufaula, died Thursday in a Tulsa hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Sunday in the Kelley Memorial Chapel, Black's Funeral Home, Eufaula.
He was born Aug. 31, 1959, in Baltimore, Md., to Billie Ray and Rosalie Ann (Knickman) Jacobs. He moved to Oklahoma at the age of 3 months. He attended Shawnee High School, and he was a member of the Oklahoma National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Roxanne, of the home; two daughters, Nichole Jacobs, Eufaula, and Amber Jacobs, Oklahoma City; four sons, Cameron Jacobs, Eufaula; Christopher and Kyle Jacobs, both of the home; and Joshua Lee Jacobs, Oklahoma City; his parents, Billie and Rosalie Jacobs, Longtown; two brothers, Robert Lee Jacobs, Longtown, and Mitchell Jacobs, Eufaula; four sisters, Roxanne McElvogue, Longtown; Beth Ann Stone, Tina Marie Jacobs and Mandy Dawn Fowler, all of Eufaula; two grandchildren, Justus Cheyenne and Riley Hope; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Chester S. Woodell
Chester S. Woodell, 68, Shawnee, died Friday at his home.
Graveside services
will be 10 a.m. Monday in Moore Cemetery, Clarita.
He was born July 9, 1930, in Olney to Robert Woodell and Lanta E. Jones. He was retired from a career in the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Lovetta D. Woodell, Shawnee; stepson Paul Moore, Shawnee; a sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and Tom Booze, Fort Worth, Texas; brothers Freddie Jones, Atoka, and Tom Jones, Oklahoma City; several half-brothers and sisters; and other family members and friends.
Robert D. Chisholm Jr.
Former Shawnee resident Robert D. Chisholm Jr. died Thursday at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was 65.
Services will be 3 p.m. today at Smith Funeral Chapel, Anadarko, with the Rev. Marvin Delaware officiating. Burial will be at Memory Lane Cemetery, Anadarko.
Chisholm was born Sept. 21, 1932, in Lawton to Robert R. and Dora (Delaware) Chisholm. He married Marion Miles on Sept. 17, 1995, in Shawnee.
Chisholm graduated from Riverside Indian School, Anadarko. He lived in the Shawnee area for 30 years and in Anadarko for the past 13 years.
He served in the National Guard and in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He received a National Defense Service Medal, China Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and United Nations Service Medal.
He had been employed at Tinker Air Force Base, Kerr McGee and with the Seminole Tribe. He was of the Catholic faith and was a member of the Delaware Tribe of Western Oklahoma.
Survivors include his son, Dr. Robert Chisholm, Galveston, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Wayne Garrison and Denise Bettis and Keith Gilkey, all of Shawnee, and Melissa Cox and Bill Williams, Oklahoma City; brothers, Jack Chisholm, Anadarko, and Sherman Chisholm, Phoenix, Ariz.; sister and brother-in-law, Dorietta and Kenny Shipley, Texoma; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Effie Dora Crawford
Effie "Dora" Crawford of Shawnee died Saturday in Midwest City at the age of 79.
She was born Feb. 16, 1919, in Stella, Neb., to Clarence V. and Maud Mae (Robinson) Mayhew. She lived in Nebraska, Kansas, New Mexico and Oklahoma while growing up and had lived in Shawnee for 23 years.
She married John P. Crawford in Reno, Nev., on Feb. 27, 1964, and he preceded her in death in 1986. She was a homemaker and was a longtime member of VFW Auxiliary Post 1317 of Shawnee.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Jack Allan Hobaugh; three daughters, Jill Ann Hobaugh, Sue Hadden and Geneva Lacy; a sister, Geraldine Castle; and a brother, James Mayhew.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Montgomery, Grove and Betty Norrid, Norman; six sons, Ralph Hobaugh, Dike, Texas, Albert Hobaugh, Canadian, Okla., Johnny Hobaugh and David Hobaugh, both of Norman, Hershell Hobaugh, Noble, Okla., and Wendell Hobaugh, Shawnee; brother, T.O. Mayhew, Spencer; 21 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cooper Funeral Chapel in Tecumseh with the Rev. William Tiger officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery.
Nora M. Mason
Shawnee pastor Nora M. Mason died Saturday in Norman. She was 82.
Services will be 3:30 p.m. today at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Paul Mason officiating. Burial will be in Tecumseh Cemetery.
She was born March 25, 1916, in Rowe, Okla., the daughter of Emery David and Lavada (Sanders) Rose. She attended school in Nederland, Texas, and married Harold T. Mason on Jan. 8, 1932, in Nederland.
She had lived in Oklahoma since 1963 and was a member of Prayer Mission Fellowship. She was a pastor.
Preceding her in death were her husband in 1989 and her parents.
Surviving are two daughters, Shirley Weaver, Las Vegas, Nev., and Jo Jo Mason-Mazzu, Beaumont, Texas; a son, Harold E. Mason, Tecumseh; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Wilma Pellerin, Port Neches, Texas; companion, George Channon, of the home, and many other relatives.
