ALANA R. HOLT
Alana Rae Holt 56, a resident of Okmulgee County died in Tulsa on March 12, 2003. Alana was born on October 26, 1946 in Steubenville, Iowa to George and Dorothy (Snyder) Shimp.
She had worked as a Medical Clerk for the Kaiser Hospital in Fontana, California before moving to Oklahoma. She married David Holt on December 13, 1969. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Morris. Her parents and one sister Georgie Ann Shimp preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband David Holt of the home, one daughter Lisa Holt Gardner and husband Bill of Stillwater, OK, one son Greg Holt of Tulsa, two sisters, Michelle Francisco of San Bernardino, CA and Becky Boyd of Thousand Oaks, CA and one granddaughter, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 15, 2003 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Morris. Rev. Don Samples will officiate. Burial will be in the Morris Cemetery under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home.
Visitation will be in Okmulgee on Friday from 12-8 p.m. The family requests donations be made in her name to the Multiple Sclerosis Society 4606 E. 67th. Tulsa, Oklahoma 74136.
Pallbearers are Mac McChesney, J.D. Meredith, David Boyett, Dick Ashley, Tom Thomas and Joe Lesley.
FAY F. NEWTON
Fay F. Newton, 97, of Beggs, died March 13, 2003. She was born Oct. 11, 1905.
Survivors and services will be announced by the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Beggs.
EARNEST CORNWELL
Earnest Marvin Cornwell, 83, a long time resident of the Bald Hill Community died at his home, March 10, 2003. He was born in Beggs, OK, November 3, 1919 to Obe and Cora Sparks Cornwell.
Earnest was a retired farmer and a deacon at the Harris Chapel Baptist Church. Preceding him in death were his parents, and on Sept. 14, 2002 his wife Inez.
Survivors include, one son, Herman Cornwell of Ft. Gibson; one daughter, Minuetta Edwards of Tulsa; one sister Lou Ella Draper (Rufus), Wichita, KS; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, along with numerous relatives and friends.
Services will be conducted, Saturday, March, 15, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. in the Twin Hills School Gymnasium, Bald Hill, OK., with Rev. Ray Lennox Jr., delivering the eulogy. Burial will be in the Bald Hill Cemetery under the direction of the House Of Winn Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Friday, 12 noon until 6:00 p.m.
LEONA M. DUNN
Leona Mae Dunn, 77, of Checotah, formerly of Henryetta died March 12, 2003 in Checotah. She was born August 22, 1925 in Earlsboro, Oklahoma to Minnie Mae (Mathis) Aday and Clarence Aday.
She was a homemaker. She lived in Henryetta before moving to Checotah, where she has spent the past several years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, R.L. Henry, second husband, Eddie Dunn and sister, Florence Francis Aday.
Leona is survived by one sister, Hazel Reynolds & husband Charles of Checotah and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be held Saturday, March 15, at 1:00 p.m., at Salem Cemetery officiated by Rev. Wesley VanMeter. Services are under direction of Shurden Funeral Home of Henryetta.
DANITA TEALE
Danita S. Teale, 59, of Wilson died March 12, 2003 at her home. She was born June 29, 1943 in Okmulgee to Fred and Georgia White.
She was married to Bill Teale in Yuma, Ariz., on March 22, 1967. She taught in the Schulter School System for 22 years.
Survivors include her husband of the home; one son, William J. Teale of Fort Polk, La.; two daughters, Kathryn S. Teale of Dallas and Megan R. White of the home; her parents of Wilson; two brothers, Fred White of Techumcee, Okla., and Richard White of Wilson; and a granddaughter.
The family requests donations be made to the Search Program on television, Cancer Care or a Scholarship Fund in her name at the Schulter School.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday at the Henryetta Church of Christ with Minister Jacky Smart officiating. Burial will be at the Salt Creek Cemetery under direction of the Robert Simons Funeral Home of Henryetta.
ROBERT CANNY
Robert "Bob" Canny, 76, of Okmulgee, died Friday, March 14, 2003 in Okmulgee.
Graveside Services will be held 11:00a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery in Ft. Gibson. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Okmulgee with Reverend Jeff Cranton officiating. Services are under the direction of the Shurden-Kelley Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
Mr. Canny was born on Monday, December 6, 1926 to Ray Walter and Treva (Chamberlin) Calmy in Alexandria, Louisiana. He was an Okmulgee resident since 1990 and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Okmulgee. He was retired but stayed busy with his grandchildren and horses. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Bettey Keeler in 1998.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Canny of the home; one son, Lance Frederick and wife, Lisa of Bixby; four daughters, Tana Yarbrough of Oklahoma City, Linda Wright and husband, Rick of Meeker, Robin Turman and husband Terry of Tulsa and Angela McCoy of Okmulgee; one brother, Jack Canny of Sarasota, Florida; one sister, Bonnie Herkal of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; 16 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
FLORENCE MCCLELLAN
Florence Avann Sabatha McClellan, 71, long time Okmulgee resident died in an Oklahoma City hospital March 14, 2003. She was born September 25, 1931 in Hoffman OK to Dock Zachary and Ozener Ligons.
Survivors includes five daughters, Evelyn Dawn Davis (Jimmie), Okmulgee, Roberta Hopson ( Maurice), Oklahoma City, Carolyn Payne, Okmulgee, Thomasine Hill (Edward), Aurora, CO; and Teletha Hayden (Gary), Oklahoma City; three sons, Jarnes McClellan, Jr., Morris, Harlas McClellan, Aurora, CO, Timothy McClellan (Malissa), Okmulgee; one sister, Shirley Carter, Okmulgee; three brothers, Andrew Zachary, Hoffman, Robert Zachary, Okmulgee, James Zachary (Teresa) Oklahoma City; 15 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Services will be conducted Saturday, March 22, 2003, at 2;00 p.m. in the Church Of God Evening Lights Saints, Okmulgee, with Bro. Lucas Warren officiating. Burial will be in Our Lady Of Grace Cemetery under direction of the House Of Winn Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Friday, 12 noon until 6 p.m.
DAVID K. MCGUIRE
David Kenneth McGuire, 76, a former resident of Schulter, died Sunday, March 16, 2003 in Lawton. Graveside Services Will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 20, at the Wetumka Cemetery with Pastor Bob Jones officiating. Services under the direction of the Shurden-Kelley Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
Mr. McGuire was born on January 22, 1927 to Thomas Jefferson and Phyllis (Graham) McGuire in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a retired machine operator with Ball Brothers Glass and a member of the Cameron Baptist Church in Lawton.
He was preceded in death by wife of over forty years Wanda Mae (Nutt) McGuire in March 17, 1999; and sister, Rose Marie Johnston in 1999.
Survivors include daughter, Heidi Chadwick and husband, Mitchell of Lawton, five sons, Perry Bedford and wife, Starr of Beggs, Hurbert Bedford and wife, Irene of California, Daniel Bedford and wife, Anna of California; Laurens Brown of Georgia and David McGuire-Blessing of Washington; one brother, Thomas Vanpool of Miami, Oklahoma; one sister, Martha Dean of California; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
WILLIAM WELTON
William L. "Bill" Welton, 75, of Henryetta died March 16, 2003 in Tulsa. He was born March 11, 1928 in Hodgen, Oklahoma,
He was married to Mary (Caldwell) Welton at Marysville, Ohio on March 14, 1964. He was a Accountant-Controller at Anchor Glass in Henryetta, retiring from Anchor Glass in 1993. He was preceded in death by his parents: William Roy Welton & Beulah Kelly Welton, 1 sister, Martha Nelson, 1 brother, Victor Welton. He was a member of the St. Pauls Methodist Church in Okemah.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Welton, of the home; four children, Ryan Welton, Dallas, Texas, Robin Marie Rathbun, Tulsa, Charles Welton & wife Kathy, Henryetta and John Welton, New Hampshire; 3 grandchildren, 2 brothers, George Welton & wife Ida, Harrah, Oklahoma and Jack Welton, Tulsa.

DAVID K. MCGUIRE

LEE ANN MCKAY
Lee Ann McKay, 42, died Friday, March 14, 2003 at her home in Coalton. She was born Feb. 21, 1961 in Okmulgee to Oren and Virginia Kanada.
She had lived in Coalton all her life and loved to collect dolls, antiques, and loved animals, flowers and gardening and planting trees. She was married to Steve McKay on March 27, 1999 in Atoy, Texas. She was preceded in death by her father, two grandsons, Jayden Austin Campbell and Damian Lee Campbell and her grandparents.
Survivors include her husband Steve of the home; two sons, Earvin and Lauren Campbell of Tulsa and Ronnie Campbell of Coalton; one step-son, Andrew McKay of Pleasant Valley; a daughter, Lora Campbell of Weleetka; three brothers, Oren Kanada of McAlester, Richard Kanada of Schulter and Leroy Kanada of Coalton; one sister, Brenda Kanada of Sydney, Australia and her mother, Virginia Kanada of Coalton.
Graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 18 at the Coalton/Angel Cemetery in Coalton with Pastor Rodney George officiating.
Pallbearers will be Oren Kanada, Richard Kanada, Leroy Kanada, Aaron Kanada, Patrick Evans, Billy Carter and Alexander Hardin.
Arrangements are under direction of the Robert Simons Funeral Home of Henryetta.
