CHARLES GASTALDO
Charles (Charlie) Gastaldo, former county resident, died June 17, 2001 in Royal Oak, Mi. He was born at Dewar, Okla.,on Dec. 8,1918 to George and Mary Barbero Gastaldo.
He entered the service in June of 1942 and served in Northern France where he was wounded. He was also in the Normandy Invasion. He was awarded the Service Ribbon, two Bronze Stars, the Purple Heart and Good Conduct Medal. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include is wife, Ruth of the home; a daughter, Charlene and husband Greg and two grandchildren of Hazelpark, Mi.; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Fisher of Royal Oak; two brothers, Adolph Gastaldo of Coalton and Leno Gastaldo of Pleasant Valley; a sister, Perina Couch of Coalton and several nieces and their families.
Funeral services
were Thursday, June 14 at 11a.m., at the William Sullivan and Son Funeral Home in Royal Oak, Mich.
THEODORE FISHER
Theodore R "Ted" Fisher Sr, 91, of Haskell, OK died Tuesday, June 12, 2001 in Okmulgee. He was born May 17, 1910 in Peale, AR to Coy B. and Martha Ellen (Green) Fisher. He was a farmer and liked to work for his church, he would often sing and was a leader of the Brotherhood at the Liberty Baptist Church for many years. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his first wife Esther Fisher and one son Billy Joe Fisher and four brothers.
He is survived by his wife Juanita (Hammock) Fisher of the home, three sons Coy Albert Fisher of Tulsa, Ted Fisher Jr. of Okmulgee, Charles Glen Fisher of Spring, TX, three daughters Betty Lou Durham of Glenpool, , Shirley Mae Poindexter of Tulsa, Laverna Kay Kelly of Okmulgee, a step-son Harold Wilburn Sr. of Haskell, two step daughters Velma Edmond of Ivanhoe, CA, Mildred Ramirez, of Haskell, a sister Josie Mae Stafford of Morris, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services
will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2001 at the Liberty Baptist Church in Liberty Morris, with Pastor Jeff Ward officiating. Interment
will follow in the Fisher Family Cemetery in Okmulgee, under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2001 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel in Okmulgee.
Casketbearers will be Al Fisher Jr., Rob Fisher, Steve Poindexter, Ralph Fisher, Randy Kelley, and Charles Fisher. Honorary Casketbearers will be the remaining grandsons.
CHARLOTTE WILLIAMS
Charlotte H. Williams, 53, of Okmulgee died Friday, June 15, 2001 in a Tulsa hospital. She was born January 11, 1948 in Washington, DC to James and Lottie Henry. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Claude Williams Jr. of Okmulgee, and Marcus Williams of Kansas City, MO, one daughter, Chiku Griffin of Okmulgee, six grandchildren, along with numerous relatives and friends.
Service of Memory will be conducted on Friday, June 22 at 3 p.m. in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. David Burks officiating.
Interment
will follow in the Beggs Cemetery under the direction of the House of Winn Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 21, from noon until 6 p.m.
MARVIN BARNETT
Marvin Wayne Barnett, 40, of Houston, TX, died Thursday, June 14 in Houston. He was born December 21, 1960 in Morris to Willmer and Naomi (Franklin) Barnett.
He graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1979 and was a veteran of the United States Marine. He was active in the Church of the Living God where he was a member and musician of the church in Houston. Before moving to Houston, he lived in San Diego, CA, where he was employed at a local bank.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Columbus and Maggie Franklin and Thomas and Mary Lou Barnett.
He is survived by parents, Willmer and Naomi Barnett, three brothers, Willard Barnett of Oklahoma City, Leonard Barnett of Okmulgee and L.C. Barnett of Las Vegas, NV; a sister, Evelena James of Houston, TX.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 30, at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Living God, C.W.F.F., 3401 Casper in Houston with pastor Elder James D. Black officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Woodforest Funeral Home, 750 Uvalde Road in Houston.
ERNEST ALLEN
Ernest Allen, age 83 and a resident of Beggs, died Saturday, June 16, 2001 at his home west of Beggs. He was born December 16, 1917 in Rogers County, OK, the son of Leon Lockett and Marie B. Flowers. He later moved to Chicago, IL, where he was a sheriff's deputy for the Cook County Sheriff's Department for many years.
He married Vestall Campbell on July 19, 1955 in Chicago. They moved to Beggs in 1979. He enjoyed his retirement as a farmer and was a member of the First Baptist Church South of Beggs.
Survivors include his wife Vestall of the home in Beggs, his sons, Wallace Allen of Okmulgee, Robert Allen of Beggs and Lee Allen of Houston, TX; daughters Carolyn Silas of Chicago, IL; Marie Allen of Beggs and Jennifer Williamson of Beggs; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with other relatives and friends.
Graveside services
will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2001 at 11 a.m. at the Beggs City Cemetery. Dr. M.M. Williams, pastor of First Baptist Church South in Beggs will officiate. Funeral services
are under the direction of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc. of Okmulgee.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 22, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
THELMA TWISDALE
Thelma M. Twisdale, a longtime resident of Okmulgee, died on Monday, June l8, 2001 at the age of 88. She was born on Thursday, August 22, 1912 in Shawnee, OK to Ella Almira (Brewer) and Jessie Otto Holmes. She worked as the manager for the Green Stamp Store in Okmulgee and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was a member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary of Okmulgee.
She was preceded in death by her husband Malcom Twisdale in 1994; one son, Jack Barton in 1992; and two brothers, Jess Norton Holmes in l987 and Bill Holmes in 1984.
Survivors include one son, Jim Barton and wife Joan of Vernon, TX, one brother, Carl Holmes of Pasadena, TX, one sister, Esther Penn of Bixby, six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
Graveside services
are set for Thursday, June 21, 2001 at the Okmulgee Cemetery at 10:00a.m. Dr. David Seymour will officiate. Services are under the direction of Kelley Funeral Home.
Family and friends are invited for visitation on Wednesday, June 20, 2001 at the funeral home from 1 to 8 p.m.

DONALD D. SULLINS
Donald D. "Jimmy" Sullins, 66, longtime Okmulgee resident died Sunday morning, June 17, 2001 in Okmulgee. He was born April 27, 1935 in Cordell, Okla., to Jesse Edward and Norma Lee (Powers) Sullins.
He owned and operated Jim's Welding and Manufacturing, Inc., until 1987. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Glenda Carter and Maymie Pennfield and a brother, Willie Sullins.
Survivors include four sons, Ted Sullins and Tim Sullins of Okmulgee; David Sullins of Tulsa and Wes Roberts of Jenks; a daughter, Regina Sullins of Tulsa; six sisters, Louise Young of Haskell, Hazell Smith and Tommie Dennis of Henryetta, Gayle Smith and Geraldine Hurst, both of Okmulgee and Rowena Pomeroy of Tulsa; four brothers, Lester Sullins of Sherman, Texas, Dale Sullins and Ray Sullins, both of Henryetta and Edward Sullins of Muskogee; four granddaughters and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services
will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 20 at the Sonora Cemetery, east of Henryetta with the Rev. Lester Sullins officiating. Casketbearers will be Ted Sullins, Harold Carter, Lee Carter, Billy Joe Young, Russell Smith and Jim Bryant. Services are under direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home.
SADIE 'ETHEL' BUNNER
Sadie "Ethel" Bunner, 77, of Glenpool, died June 15, 2001 in Tulsa. She was born Sept.12, 1923 at Okemah to Jesse and Lille (Squirrel) Wind.
She attended Sand Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed her flower gardening, doing arts ad crafts and sewing for her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David Lee Bunner; a daughter, Brenda Casey; two granddaughters, Cheryl Bunner and Ladonna Sumka; a grandson, Lynn Bunner; a great-grandson, Daniel Andrew Lowe and a brother, Stanley Wind.
Survivors include three sons, David Bunner of Tulsa, Kenneth Bunner of the home and Mike Bunner of Tulsa; two daughters, Pat Bunner of Henryetta and Margie Kelley of Glenpool; a granddaughter she raised as a daughter, Tiara Trujillo; two brothers, Daniel Wind and Jesse Wind Jr., both of Okemah; two aunts,15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services
were Tuesday, June 19 at 2 p.m., at the High Springs Baptist Church. Wake Services were Monday at the Robert Simons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daniel Wind Jr., Rev. Fred Lindsey and Rev. Thompson Billy officiating at the services. Pallbearers were Adam Harjo, Glenn Kelley, Allen Ritter, Jason Been, Eugene Kahbeah and Virgil Casey.
Burial was at the Wind Cemetery south of Okemah with a Lighthorse Escort. Arrangements are under direction of the Robert Simon Funeral Home.
ODDIE V. NASH
Oddie V. Nash, 82, a former resident of Dewar, died Thursday, June 14, 2001 in an Oklahoma City Hospital. She was born January 7, 1919 in Eufaula, OK to Angus and Addie (O'Neal) Alexander. She was a homemaker.
Preceding her in death are her parents and one son.
Survivors include two sons, Edward L. Nash of Henryetta, OK, and Earl V. Nash of Oklahoma City, OK, one brother, Nathan Alexander of Muskogee, OK, three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, along with numerous relatives and friends.
A Homegoing Celebration will be conducted Wednesday, June 20, at 11 a.m. in the Church of God, Hoffman, OK, with Bro. Lucas McKinley Warren officiating.
Interment
will follow in the Hawkin Cemetery in Hoffman, OK under the direction of the House of Winn Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 19, from noon until 6 p.m.
