SUSIE H. GAMMILL
Susie (Hicks) Gammill, 86, of Okemah, died July 15, 2001. She was born to the family of Sayochee and Lucy Roberts Hicks on Jan.14, 1915 in the Okemah area.
She attended Buckeye Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Gammill in December of 1979.
Survivors include a daughter, Laura Bushyhead of Oklahoma City; twobrothers, Andy Hicks of Castle and Stanley Roberts of Nuyaka; four sisters, Lena Sands of Castle, Sallie Suger of Arkansas, Sarieda Fixico of Okemah and Ina Hicks of Nuyaka; one granddaughter; two great-grandsons and a host of longtime friends and neighbors.
Services will be held Wednesday, July18, at the Buckeye Church at 11 a.m. Wake services will be Tuesday at 7 p.m., at the Robert Simons Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Gammill Family Cemetery under direction of the Robert Simons Funeral Home.
OMA LEONA EARTHMAN
Oma Leona Earthman, 94, of Justin,Texas and formerly of Henryetta, died July 15. She was born in Henryetta on Sept. 22, 1907 to Lee and Vergie Ferguson.
She was married to Hall J. Earthman on Sept.16, 1924 in Hanna. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 72 years in 1996; a grandson Alan David Stout in1972 and a daughter-in-law, Norman Swartz Earthman in 1999.
Survivors include her children, William Lee Earthman and wife Billie Jo of Charlotte, N. C., James Calvin Earthman of Flower Mound, Texas, Mayoma Jean Stout and husband Robert J. of Fort Worth, Texas; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday, July 20, at 1p.m., at the Hanna Cemetery in Hanna under direction of the Shurden Funeral Home of Henryetta.
OPAL BUCKLEW
Opal Bucklew, 103, died July 19 in Okmulgee.
Services are pending with the Kelley Funeral Home.
LILLIE LOUISE ALLEN
Lillie Louise Allen of Okmulgee died July 16 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa. She was born to Silas E. and Molly (Baker) Carner on March 5, 1916 in Coweta, Okla.
She was a housewife and a member of the Butler Memorial Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wade Allen; a son, James Allen, three brothers and one sister.
Survivors include two sons, Donald Allen of Okmulgee and Silas E. Allen and wife Janie of Springfield, Mo.; a daughter, Linda Sawyer of Council Hill; a daughter-in-law, Ann Allen of Okmulgee and six grandchildren.
Services are pending with the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home.
BERTHA THOMAS
Bertha Thomas,101, of Henryetta died July 13, 2001in Okmulgee. She was born April17,1900 in Grayson to George and Bell Dillingham.
She was married to Jurdy Thomas. She was baptized in the Baptist Faith at an early age.
Survivors include one son, J. T. Thomas of Los Angeles, Calif., one grandson and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 21, at the Union Baptist Church in Grayson. Burial will be in the Grayson Cemetery under direction of the Shurden Funeral Home of Henryetta.
DOROTHY BRISCO-WOOLERY
Dorothy E. Brisco-Woolery, 84, died Wednesday, July 18, 2001. She was born on Sunday, April 22, 1917 in Wolf City, Texas.
A resident of Okmulgee for 63 years, she attended the First Assembly of God Church for 47 years and Crosstown Pentecostal Holiness Church for the last 19 years where her son-in-law was pastor. She retired as an L.P.N. after 60 years of service working mostly in private care. She was an active church member and former Sunday school teacher and an active member of the T.O.P.S. #141.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Quincy Ray Brisco; second husband, Alfred Woolery; one son, Ray Brisco, and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include, two daughters, Wanda Mason and Louise Baldridge and husband Willis, all of Okmulgee; one brother, Billy Joe Cagle of Tulsa; one sister, Earline Webster of Irving, Texas; ten grandchildren, 15 great- grandchildren and 13 great- great- grandchildren
Funeral Services are set for Friday, July 20, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at the Kelley Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Willis Baldridge will officiate. Burial will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Services under the direction of Kelley Funeral Home.
Pallbearers for the service are Wallace Ashwood, Ronnie Griffin, Charlie Scott, Johnny Watkins, Junior Baldridge and Floyd Baldridge.
Family and friends are invited for visitation on Thursday, July 19 from noon until 8p.m.
MARILYN JOAN CARROLL
Marilyn JoAn (Carley) Carroll, 38, of Henryetta died July 15, 2001 at Henryetta. She was born Feb. 13, 1963 in Attica, Kan., to Bert Howard Carley and Dona Jean (Bloxham) Carley.
She was a home health nurse in the Wetumka area for 14 years and in the Henryetta area for six years.
Survivors include two sons, Manning Tyson Carroll and Swain Sawyer Carroll, both of Henryetta; her father, Bert Howard Carley of Henryetta; her mother, Dona Jean Carley of Henryetta; and a sister, Marcia Renee Dewing of Tampa, Fla.
Services will be held Wednesday, July 18 at 10:30 a.m., at the Henryetta First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Rodney George officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery under direction of the Shurden Funeral Home.
PATRICIA IRVINE
Patricia Ann (Johnson) Irvine, 50, died July 14, 2001 in Tulsa. She was born Jan. 10, 1951 to Donnie A (Travis) and George Johnson in San Francisco, Calif.
She married Paul L. Irvine on Nov. 29, 1986 in Clovis, Calif. She served in the United States Army during Desert Storm and worked as a unit administrator for the U.S. Army. She was preceded in death by her mother in May of 2001.
Survivors include her father, George Johnson of Beggs; her husband, Paul of Joplin, Mo.; two daughters, Tricia Ann Anderson of Horn Lake, MS and Kerry Gresham of Kimberely, ID; one brother, Kenneth Johnson of Beggs; two sisters, Kathy Foreman of Hannibal MO., and Carol West of Beggs; and seven grandchildren.
Graveside services
were Tuesday, July 17 at 2 p.m., at the Okmulgee Cemetery. James Nichols officiated at the service under direction of the Kelley Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Paul Irvine, Kenneth Anderson, Kenneth Dustin, Kenneth Johnson, Kris McCorley and Eric Downey.
CHARLENE KAYE DEAN
Charlene Kaye Dean, 62, of Tulsa died July 10, 2001. She was born Oct. 31, 1938 in Tulsa to Charles Sylvanus and Grace (Moyer) Maben.
She graduated from Okmulgee High School and was retired from the State of Oklahoma where she worked many years as a Vocational Rehabilitation Councilor. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. and Mrs. C.S. Maben.
Survivors include her husband, Arland Dean of Tulsa; a daughter, Nicole Sylvanus Sears of Tulsa; a sister, Martha G. Maben of Okmulgee and a grandson.
Funeral services
were held at 2p.m., Friday, July 13, at Rose Hill Abbey Mausoleum Chapel with entombment in Rose Hill Abbey Mausoleum.
ELLIS J. TOLBERT JR.
Ellis James Tolbert Jr., 50, lifelong resident of Okmulgee, died July 14, 2001 at Okmulgee Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb. 26, 1951 in Okmulgee to Ellis James Tolbert Sr. and Ethel Claudette (Sampson) Tolbert.
He was an oil field driller. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Lee Harvey and Shelly LeAnn Tolbert, both of Okmulgee; two sisters, Brenda LeGrand and Carol Morgan, both of Okmulgee and a granddaughter.
Funeral services
will be at 2 p.m, Wednesday, July 18, at the Harvest Christian Center with Rev. Paul Ramsey officiating. Burial will be in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Jimmy Wittman, Clay Nolan, Richard Chastain, Bill Grissom, Tony Barlow and Clifford West.
Friends may visit the funeral home from 2 until 8 p.m., Tuesday. Arrangements are under direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home.
