HOMER L. JOHNSON
Homer L. Johnson, 59, of Tulsa and formerly of Okmulgee, died Sept. 23, 2001 in Tulsa. He was born Feb. 16, 1942 in Okmulgee, the son of Tommie and Gertrude (Grant) Johnson.
He attended school in Schulter before moving to Tulsa. He was owner and operator of Homer's Auto Detail in Tulsa and was a member of the Church of the Living God Temple #166 in Tulsa. He was married to Bettye Holland on Jan. 31, 1969. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of the home; his brothers, Lovie D. Johnson of Bakersfield, Calif., and Kenneth Johnson of Coweta; a sister, Leneta Johnson-Dyer of Tulsa and a host of other relatives and friends.
Service of Memory will be at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Sept.29 at the Church of the Living God Temple #166 at 2124 East 31st Place North. The pastor, Elder Felix Taylor, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Tulsa under direction of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., of Okmulgee.
Visitation will be held Friday from 12 noon until 7 p.m. at the Rose Hill Funeral Home at Admiral and Yale in Tulsa.
JERRY MAYES
Jerry Mayes, 17, of Red Bird, Okla., and as former Okmulgee resident, died Sept. 26, 2001 in a Muskogee hospital.
Arrangements are pending with the House of Winn Funeral Home.
ORTHA A. GRIFFIN
Ortha Almeda Griffin, 90, longtime Okmulgee resident, died Thursday morning, Sept. 27, 2001 at Okmulgee Memorial Hospital.
Arrangements are pending with McClendon-Winters Funeral Home.
DAVY JESS SMITH
Davy Jess Smith, 30, of the Natura area died Tuesday, September 25, 2001. He was born Saturday, July 24, 1971 to Ed and Stella Smith in Okmulgee. Davy graduated from Morris High School in 1989 and later received his bachelor degree from NSU. On December 20, 1996 in Morris, he married his wife Nancy Shearhart. Davy enjoyed the outdoors; if he was outside he was happy. He liked to fish, golf and go snow skiing. Most important to him was his family; He was known at family get-togethers around the holidays to dress up as Santa Claus. Just recently his pride and joy was born, his name is Sawyer. His wife Nancy and son Sawyer both survive of the home.
Other survivors include, his mom and dad Ed and Stella Smith of Morris, a sister Misty and husband Jackie Lynch of Beggs, a brother Eddie and his wife Darla Smith of Inola, Grandparents Ted and Hope Smith of Morris, Sister-in-law Cindy and husband Marc Kutz, sister-in-law Stacy and husband John Miller, a brother-in-law Bret and wife Jackie Shearhart, Mother-in-law Carol and husband Don Copenhaver, Father-in-law Wayne and wife Pat Shearhart, Many cousins, Nieces and Nephews.
His maternal grandparents Dave and Ellen "Ger" Maple preceded Mr. Smith in death.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Friday, September 28, 2001 at the Morris Church of Christ with Mr. Kelly Brown and Mr. Lee Keele officiating. Interment
will follow in the Morris Cemetery under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee.
Visitation will be at the Funeral Home in Okmulgee from 12 noon until 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 27, 2001.
Casketbearers will be Dane Couch, Ronnie Duncan, James Richel, Sean Blackwell, Johnny Sadler and Mark Fleming.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers a Memorial fun for the care of his son Sawyer Smith has been set up at the Morris State Bank. Contributions may also be made to the funeral home.

Davy Jess Smith, 30, of the Natura Area, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy, and son, Sawyer, of the home.

Rheba Mae Withrow, 73, longtime Henryetta resident, died Sept. 25, 2001 at Henryetta. She was born Sept. 6, 1928 at Henryetta.

JEAN GUNTER SADLER
Jean Eileen Gunter Sadler of Shawnee, OK., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 24, 2001. She was the daughter of Thomas Arthur Hunter and Doris (Sandusky) Gunter. She was born June 22, 1924 at Bald Hill, OK,
She graduated from Twin Hills High School in 1941. She worked at Boeing Airplane Factory in Wichita, Kansas during World War II and for Ball Glass Co. in Okmulgee for 22 years. She married Charles Sadler in Okmulgee March 9, 1946. He preceded her in death on April 2, 2001. She was a member of Northside Assembly of God Church in Okmulgee
Survivors include a son, Charles Sadler, Jr., of Shawnee, a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Gary Washburn, of Shawnee, one granddaughter, Stefanie Washburn of Dallas, Texas; one brother, A.W. Hunter, of Tulsa; a sister, Nadine Burzio of Sapulpa; several nieces and nephews and many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, several aunts and uncles, and a great nephew

will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 27, 2001 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend John Lovett officiating. Interment
will follow in the Beggs Cemetery with Fred Sadler, Billy Sadler, Mike Sadler, Wayne Gunkel, Frank Burzio, and John Burzio serving as Casketbearers.
Services are under direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
MARY Y. LEE
Mary Y. Lee, 95, of Okmulgee died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001 in Okmulgee. She was born Sept. 4, 1906 in Osterfeld, Germany to Rudolph and Rosalia (Gevorene) Yeglic.
Survivors include three daughters, Elizabeth Cubstead of Houston, Texas, Ruth Kaiser and husband Louis of Houston and Rosemary Presser of Okmulgee; one brother, John Yeglic of San Antonio, Texas; one sister, Josephine Dzierzanowski of San Antonio; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, B.W. Lee, four brothers, a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter.
Graveside services
will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 26 at the Atwood Cemetery in Atwood with Pastor Jack Shock officiating. Services are under direction of the Kelley Funeral Home.
LLOYD JAY WALTON
Lloyd Jay Walton, 58, a resident of Henryetta, died September 22, 2001 in Henryetta. He was born July 9, 1943 in Vancouver, Washington to Beulah (Pead) and Lloyd Rock.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, National Rifle Association and the Paralyzed Veteran Association. Lloyd married Paula Thornberry on March 25, 2000 in Henryetta. Lloyd served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. His father preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Paula Walton of the home; mother, Beulah Walton of Reno, Nev., his sister, Iretta Rock of Reno, Nev., and a brother, William Kelly Walton of Reno, Nev.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 26 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. Bishop Tony Gustin will be officiating. Burial will be in Fairview, Wyoming. Services are under direction of the Rogers Funeral Home of Henryetta.
NAHMAN JASE WHITE
Nahman Jase White, age 1, of Urbana, Mo., died Friday, Sept. 21, 2001. He was born July 7, 2000 at Henryetta to Jason White and April (Rule) White.
Survivors include his parents, Jason and April White of the home; a sister, Makenzie White of the home; grandparents, Tom and Patty Rule of Henryetta and Terry and Darlene White of Urban, Mo., and great-grandparents, Goldie Rule of Shelbyville, Ind., George and Rose McKinney of Midwest City and Tom and Margorie James of Urban, Mo.
Funeral services
were at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 25 at the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn. Burial was in the New Sonora Cemetery under direction of the Shurden Funeral Home.
PAULINE PREVETT
Pauline Prevett, 69, of Owasso, native of Morris, died Sept. 23, 2001. She was born March 15, 1932 at Morris to Merlin and Christine (Bussey) King.
She received her teaching degree from NSU in 1953 and was married to Eugene Prevett in 1954. They raised three children, Donald, Dale and Deidre. She taught school for 27 years. She was a founding member of the Eastview Church of Christ in Miami and was active for many years in church and professional groups. In 1996 the Prevetts moved to Owasso to be near family.
In addition to her husband and children, she is survived by two daughters-in-law, five grandchildren and two sisters.
Funeral services
will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday at the Owasso Church of Christ. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m., at Salt Creek Cemetery near Schulter under direction of the Moore Funeral Home.
