Ida Durham, 96, of Muskogee died December 13, 2001 in a Tulsa hospital. Funeral services
are scheduled for Saturday, December 22 at 11 a.m. in Muskogee.

Jewel Rosetta Schutte, 93, of Henryetta died Dec.15, 2001 in Alexandria, Va.

Helen June McKinney, 57, of Henryetta died Dec. 17, 2001 in Tulsa.

JESSIE ROBERTS
Jessie Irene Roberts, 96, of Henryetta died Dec.15, 2001at Henryetta. She was born March 6, 1901 in LaHarpe, Kans., to Geniah B. Runyan and Lulu Arnold.
She moved to Kusa, east of Henryetta, in 1915. She loved to fish and care for tropical fish and raised and sold dogs and worked for Avon for more than 60 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Alma Jean Simmons and Barbara Louise Brice and a granddaughter Lanora Eike.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Lee Roberts and wife Virginia of Pharoah; one daughter, Doris Taber and husband Bill of Henryetta; 11grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services
were scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 18 at 2 p.m., at the Sonora Cemetery with Rev. Jim Ray officiating. Arrangements were under direction of the Robert Simons Funeral Home of Henryetta.
LEONA M. GEORGE
Leona Mae (Trover) George, 92, of Okmulgee died Saturday, December 8, 2001 at the local hospital. She was born September 13, l909 to Walter E. and Pearl (Tate) Trover in Dagman, OK.
She married John "Dale" George on November 6, l 926 in Okemah. She enjoyed working with flowers, quilting and embroidery. She was a member of the Church of Christ for over seventy years.
Survivors include one son John Dale and his wife Paula George of Choctaw, OK, two daughters Pearl Marie and husband Ted Kaltenbach, Betty Ann and her husband Howard Fredrick both of Okmulgee; ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, John "Dale" George on Oct.12, 1989; parents, one son Walter E. George, two grandsons and one great grandson.
Funeral Services will be at 2p.m., Wednesday, December 12, 2001 at the Okmulgee Church of Christ with Mr. Jack Shock officiating. Burial will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
Visitation will be from l 0:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2001 at the McClendon Winters Funeral Home.
Casketbearers will be: Kenneth Wilson, Charles Cargill, John Lee, Kenneth Fredrick, David George, Ted Kaltenbach Jr. and Nick Gray.
MARY K. PATTERSON
Mary Katherine Patterson, 78, a resident of Henryetta died Dec. 7, 2001 in Tulsa. She was born Tuesday, May 15,1923 to John Brennon and Katherine Grant Patterson.
She was married to Andrew H. Patterson Jr. on Dec. 19. 1941 in
McAlester. She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 9, 1999. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a son, David Patterson of Wildcat Junction Community; two daughters, Andrea Ryan and husband Mark of Oklahoma City and Linda Whitlock and husband John of Henryetta; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one brother, Ralph Brennon and other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 12, at the Shurden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Vance officiating. Burial will be at the Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta under the direction of the Shurden Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Earl Strawn, Robert Whitlock Jerris Ryan, Dave Gragg, Stephen Ellis and Brett Murcer.
Viewing will be from 8 a.m., until 8 p.m., Tuesday at Shurden Funeral Home.
CLATON C. HAGGARD
Claton Clarence Haggard, 88, a resident of Mounds died Dec. 7. 2001. He was born Tuesday, February 11, 1913 in Laura, Texas to Luther C. Haggard and Martha May (Hill) Haggard
He was married to Elva N. Justus on Sept. 16, 1936 in Henryetta. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elva N. Justus Haggard on October 20, I983; a daughter, Martha Jane Grace; five brothers and one sister. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include two sons, Bobby G. Haggard and wife Norma and Billy D. Haggard and wife Mary, all of Mounds; two daughters, Wanda June Baker of Lodi, California and Dawna Anita Fay Peterson & husband Harvey of Stockton, California; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one brother, Jim Haggard of Yuba City, Calif.; one sister, Nita; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 12, at the Shurden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lewis Havener officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery under direction of the Shurden Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Claton Haggard, Mike Haggard, Brian Haggard, Doug Casey, Ronald Tarwater and Jim Beldon.
Viewing will be Tuesday from 8 a.m., until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
VELDA M. GANUN
Velda M. GaNun, 83, of Henryetta died Dec. 10, 2001in Tulsa. She was born Sept. 30, 1918 at Henryetta to David Reid and NIcholas Rae Reid.
She was married to Frank GaNun and was retired from the First National Bank of Tulsa. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Wagoner. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1981, her parents; three brothers, David Reid, W.R. "Chick" Reid and Johnny Reid; and two sisters, Anges Sievert and Margaret Linebarger.
Survivors include one daughter, Nikki Longacre and husband Keith of Sapulpa; one sister, Evelyn Broome of Henryetta; four nieces, a nephew and a sister-in-law, Theda Reid of Henryetta.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 13 at the Shurden Chapel with Rev. Lowell Churchill officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery under direction of Shurden Funeral Home.
LETHA GASAWAY
Letha Rae Gasaway, 89, of Sapulpa and former Okmulgeean, died Dec.10, 2001. She was born Nov. 27, 1912 in Pittsburg, Okla., to P. L. and Maude Warrick.
She was a graduate of Okmulgee High School and was previously employed by Dr. Mullins, as a bookkeeper for Katz Department Store, Harrisons Shoe Store, City of Sapulpa Water Department and P&D Pipeline Construction Company. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, J.D. Gasaway and Levi Gasaway and one sister, Dollie Bradburn.
Survivors include her sisters, Lorene Ator of Okmugee and Helen Bowling and husband Gerald of Drumright; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services
will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m., in the Lee and Walnut Church of Christ with Dub Mowery officiating. Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m., in the Okmulgee Cemetery under direction of the Smith Funeral Home of Sapulpa.
JACOB B. ELLIS
Jacob B. Ellis, 83, died Dec. 6, 2001. He was born at Natura, OK on October 14, 1918 to Abner Doolie & Nellie (Bruner) Ellis. died Jacob was a member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation and an inventor holding three patents. He was a rancher/farmer, retired from the City of Tulsa as a heavy equipment operator "A Class", a World War II veteran, a graduate of Oklahoma State Tech Okmulgee in the Upholstery Dept., and a Native American artist, instructor counselor.
He is survived by his wife, Laurabelle Elizebeth Ellis; a son, Michael Anthony Ellis and his brothers & sisters; Lillian, Willie, Richard Douglas, Dorothy Lee Adeline, Nellie (Cotty), Pandora and Andrew Dolphus Ellis. At Jacob's request, a graveside memorial service was be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Bald Hill Cemetery.
Arrangements were under direction of the Leonard & Marker Funeral Home of Bixby.
DOROTHY J. PRINE
Dorothy Jean Prine 70, a resident of Okmulgee died in Tulsa on January 10, 2001. She was born in Edna, Oklahoma on December 17, 1930 to Charles Newton and Anna litaye (Warren) Sadler.
She had worked as a waitress and child care provider. Dorothy moved from Tulsa to Okmulgee five years ago. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Tulsa. Her parents, two husbands and other relatives preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son Gary D. Prine of Okmulgee, one brother C.D. Sadler of Beggs, a sister Marie Gunkel of Okmulgee two grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services
will be on Thursday, December 13, 2001 at 10 a.m. at the McClendon-Winters Chapel. Rev. Raymond Doke will officiate. Burial will be in the Beggs Cemetery under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 a.m., until 8 p.m.
RALPH M. KIKER
Ralph Malcolm Kiker, 78, a longtime resident of Okmulgee, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2001. He was born on Friday, September 30, 1923 in Okmulgee, OK to Malcolm A. and Myrtle (Dixon) Kiker. Ralph graduated from Okmulgee High School and Okmulgee Junior College. Afterwards he served in the U.S. Army AirCorp during WWII as a Gunner on a B17. He owned and operated Okmulgee Service Station before retiring and was a long time member of the Okmulgee Elks, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Ralph was very witty and appreciative of all the care and attention given to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Lawrence Dixon Kiker and wife, Alice Faye Kiker.
Survivors include: one son, Lawrence Kiker and his wife Deena of Broken Arrow; one daughter, Connie Clevenger and her husband Jim of Okmulgee; two sisters, Genevieve Gary of Tulsa and Ora Mae Piester of Muskogee; four grandchildren, Derrick Kiker, Ryan Kiker, Michael Clevenger, and Michelle Hushbeck; three great-grandchildren; Gunner & Makenzie Clevenger and Kylie Hushbeck; as well as many friends.
Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2001 at the Kelley Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Dennis Taylor will be officiating. The interment will be at the Okmulgee Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Lester Mitchell, Tim Ridgeway, Steve Shurden, John Hushbeck, John Martin, and Ryan Kiker.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Ralph "Sonny" Viersen.
Military Honors for Mr. Kiker will be provided by VFW Post 1189 of Okmulgee and VFW Post 539 of Henryetta.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
