White
Bobby Ray White Jr., 31, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, following an auto accident.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, 2004, at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. David L. Griggs officiating. Interment will be in Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home of Vernon, Texas.
Bobby was born March 6, 1973, in Vernon, a son of Bobby Ray White Sr. and Virginia Ann McBride White.
He was a resident of Vernon all of his life. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and was a good fisherman.
He is survived by his mother, Virginia Ann McBride White of Vernon; father, Bobby Ray White Sr. of Fort Worth, Texas; step-father, Adolphus Newman of Vernon; loving and devoted companion, Frelicia Johnson (Shun) of Dallas; one son, Demarco Brown of Dallas; step-children, Frelandis Johnson, Danesha Hollingsworth and Kiana Hollingsworth, of Dallas, and Mobutu, Armani and Quinlan of Altus; three brothers, Brad White of Vernon, Bobby Ray White III of Fort Worth and Zachary Dean White of Dallas; two sisters, Djuanna Newman of Vernon and Destiny Reshann White of Fort Worth; a very special friend, Kimberly Hardiman of Altus; and a grandparent, Johnny McBride of Vernon.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Mary McBride, Lovie White and Gladys White.
The family will be at 2319 Maiden Street, Vernon, Texas.
Holt
Myrtle Lee Holt, 81, of Altus, died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at Plantation Village Nursing Home. Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Brother Gary Usher officiating. Burial will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.
Myrtle was born Feb. 3, 1923, in Boggy Bin, Texas, to John B. and Mattie Lou (Lawsons) Williams. She married Thomas Guy Holt on Nov. 16, 1940, in Hollis. To this union 12 children were born. Myrtle worked tirelessly as a homemaker raising 14 children. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family and was most proud to be the matriarch of five generations. She loved playing bingo and bowling. She attended the Church of God in Altus.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Guy Holt; her parents; a daughter, Shirley Ann Smith; two sons, James and J.C. Holt; one sister and five brothers.
She is survived by eight daughters, Betty Farrow of Binger, Darlene Evans and husband Thurman of Altus, Thelma Sandborn and husband Jim of Kissamee, Fla., Lewanda Rogers and husband Billy of Altus, Francine Sims (wife of the late Tom Sims) of Altus, Lynette Mullis and husband Sherman of Altus, Valarie Holt of Altus, and Janet and Fred Collier of Altus; three sons, Roy G. Holt of Tulsa, Jackie Holt and wife Amy of Plant City, Fla., and John G. Holt of Missouri; 36 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at Kincannon Funeral Home.
Grider
Paulione Grider, of Altus, died today, Aug. 3, 2004.

Rester
Hazel Rester, 87, Altus died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003 in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with John Lingle officiating. Burial will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.
Hazel was born July 18, 1916 in Dunn, La. to Augusta and Nora (White) Best. She attended school in Baskin, La. She married Emanual O'Con Rester in April of 1935 in Dunn, La.
Ms. Rester worked as a seamstress with the Kelwood Company until her retirement. In her retirement years, Hazel enjoyed sewing, cooking, music, reading, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Altus.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emanual; a son, Ronald O'Con Rester; her parents, and a brother, James Best.
Hazel is survived by her children Betty Katherine Allen and husband Arvis and Stanley Bruce Rester and wife Kathy, all of Altus; a brother, Henry Best of West Monroe, La.; six grandchildren, Johnette Wheeler, Diana Litton, John Whitten Jr., Kenneth Hammett, Matthew Rester, and Holly Rester Becerra; eight great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Kincannon Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Roberts
Wanda (Weber) Roberts, 71, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2003 at her home in Altus. A celebration service is set for 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, 2003 at the First Baptist Church in Altus with Dr. Jeff Moore and Brother Keith Wiginton officiating. Burial will follow at the Altus City Cemetery.
Roberts was born April 7, 1932 to J P. and Lena Mae Weber in Crandall, Ga. The Webers moved to Olustee in 1936 where they established their family farm and Wanda learned about hard work, humility and her love for God.
Roberts worked at Altus United Supermarkets in the 1960s and later was a loan officer for Red River Credit Union. She and Jack Roberts were married in 1971. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she and husband Jack taught Sunday School together for many years.
In her retirement years, Roberts' passion was her work as a volunteer Christian counselor where she was allowed to help many people in need. She also loved gardening, writing and spending time with her family.
Her parents and two brothers Gene Weber and Kenneth Weber preceded Wanda in death.
She is survived by her husband, Jack; daughter, Beverly Jackson and husband, Mike, of Edmond; son Keith Kirby and wife, Patty, of Altus; stepson Lowell Roberts; sister Gerry Thompson and husband, Joe, of Altus; brother Larry Weber and wife, Yulonda, of McAlester; brother Bruce Weber and Sharon of Olustee; grandchildren, Kevin Kirby and wife, Kerri, Jennifer Pickett and husband, Brad, Buckey Hunter, Brad Kirby, Nikki Robbins and husband, Mark, and Shelby Jackson; and five great-grandchildren. Also, special friends Gail Allen, Bernice Barela and Sue Howland who made it possible for Wanda and Jack to live in their home during her lengthy illness.
Friends, who wish to make memorials in Roberts' name in lieu of flowers, may donate to First Baptist Church Women's Ministries or a charity of their choice.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Kincannon Funeral Home.
Johnson
Bill Johnson, 65, passed away Friday night in Hollis. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Hollis.
Bill had been a firefighter for over 20 years, and also served as fire chief. He is also former manager of the Harmon County Co-op. Services will be arraigned by Stewert Funeral Service in Hollis.
Heap
Funeral service for Jerry Bob Heap, 57, of Frederick, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, 2003, at the First Christian Church, Frederick, with the Rev. Truman Ferguson, Anadarko First Christian Church minister, and the Rev. Ish Engle, Frederick First Christian Church.
Heap died Friday, Oct., 31, 2003, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Burial will be in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery, Frederick, under the direction of Gray Gish Funeral Home, Frederick.
He was born Saturday, June 22, 1946, in Altus, to Ralph Warren and Edna Lee (Brown) Heap. Jerry grew up and attended Frederick schools, graduating from Frederick High School in 1964. During school, Jerry was active in Boy Scouts of America, where he received the Eagle Scout Award, and Future Farmers of America, where he received the State Farmer Award. He attended the University of Oklahoma, Southwestern Oklahoma State College and Cameron. He was united in marriage to Clydia Lee Cottrell on August 26, 1965, in Frederick. They were married until 1980. He joined his father's car dealership, Frederick Motor Company (Chrysler), as a salesman in 1967, and later became the owner. He also was engaged in farming and ranching. More recently, Jerry traveled throughout the northeastern United States buying and selling auto parts for classic auto restoration. He had been a member of the Frederick Country Club, Frederick Jaycees, where he was a Jaycee of the Year Award recipient, and the First Christian Church, where he had served as a Deacon. Also, Jerry had served as a City of Frederick councilman of Ward 4 from 1979 to 1983.
He is survived by two sons: Chad Heap, of Washington, D.C., and James Heap, and his wife, Bridget, of Frederick; parents, Ralph and Edna Heap, of Frederick; sister, Dianne Allen, and her husband, Bobby, of Benbrook, Texas; brother, Roger Heap and his wife, Nancy, of Frederick; three grandchildren, Justin, Colt, and Sadie; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; his friend and companion, Carol Gauldin, of Vernon, Texas and Lucky.

Hazel Rester, 87, of Altus, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.

Massey
Seleeta V. (Kelso) Massey, 69, of San Antonio, Texas died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003. We will miss your sense of humor and your strength of character. You were one of the bravest people we ever knew and we love you very much. She is preceded in death by husband, William H. Massey; parents, Herbert and Louise Kelso.
