Delbert N. Furney, 84, died on May 17, 2005, at a local health care facility. No services are scheduled.
Born on March 1, 1921, in Mesick, Mich., to William and Bertha Carpenter Furney, he served as a captain, first lieutenant commander pilot during World War II and was a longtime resident of this area. He and Ethel Allen were married on July 13, 1987, in Ardmore, and he retired from Big Chief Roofing Company. He was preceded in death by his wife on Nov. 20, 2003; his parents, two sisters, and a brother.
He is survived by a sister, Coral Rushton, Adrian, Mich.

Born Nov. 13, 1913, in Oswalt, Okla. to Ed and Lilian Maud Banks Dunn, she died May 17, 2005, at a local health care facility. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; niece and nephew.
Ms. Dunn had been a resident of Ardmore since 1975, moving here from New Orleans, La. She was a member of Southwest Baptist Church, a Sunday school teacher and worked as a Southern Baptist missionary. She enjoyed gourmet cooking and always had a helping hand and shared her salvation with everyone.
She is survived by three nieces, Linda Grant, Lone Grove, Connie Bailey, Edmond, and Kathy Wyatt, Ardmore; two nephews, J.D. Dunn, and Marvin Mashburn, Ardmore; several great-nieces and nephews.
Honorary bearers will be Todd Collett, Greg Grant, Chris Grant, Matt Dunn, Alex Gurrola, Jeff Mashburn, Steve Watts and Jaron Bailey.

Graveside services for Carol Howell, 58, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Provence Cemetery with the Rev. Terry Tolbert officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Craddock Funeral Home.
Born on Nov. 20. 1946, in Washington, Mo., to Pleasant Franklin and Ruth Ferrell Shelton, she died on May 12, 2005, at a local nursing facility. She was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Jeffery Paul Tilton and Thomas Gene Tilton, and a brother, Samuel Shelton.
She married Jerry L. Howell on Nov. 21, 1971, in Winterhaven, Calif.
Mrs. Howell had lived in this area the past 28 years, previously living in Phoenix. She worked recently as a caregiver at Elmbrook Nursing Home and had also worked as an independent caregiver for many people in Ardmore.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry, of the home; daughters, Paula Tungate, Hermann, Mo., Becky Farmer, Ardmore, and Andria Kelton, Phoenix; sons, Jerry Howell II, Sun City, Ariz., Kelly Wayne Howell, Oklahoma City, and Timothy W. Howell, Ardmore; sister, Bonnie Walker, Kansas; brother, John F. Shelton, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren; and her former husband, Paul Tilton, Washington.
Bearers are Robbie Armstrong, Ben Burris, Kenny McDonald, Timothy Howell, Tim Milliken and Martin DeLaRosa. Honorary bearers are Gary Craig and David Wilkins.

Born on Sept. 15, 1919, in Milburn, Okla., to John W. and Lola Haley Earhart, she died on May 10, 2005, at a local health care facility. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and a sister.
Mrs. Ritchey had been a resident of Ardmore for 50 years, coming from Tishomingo, Okla., and was a teacher in the Ardmore City School System. In the summer of 1963 she co-authored the S.M.S.G. Geometry text book at Northwestern University in Chicago. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
She and Lee Roy Ritchey were married in May 22, 1939, in Durant, Okla. He preceded her in death in 1998.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Virginia Ritchey, Lindsay, Wendall and Vicki Ritchey, Ardmore; two sisters, Mahota Fruits, Wichita, Kan., and Frances Herzer, Houston; a brother, Kenneth Earhart, Midlothian, Texas; four grandchildren, Celeste Price, Seminole, Regina Bear, Savannah, Ga., Haley Ritchey Brookover, Los Alamos, N.M., and Regan Ritchey Kerber, Blackhawk, Colo.; and four great-grandchildren.

Services for Ruby Jane Still, 93, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Craddock Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Dr. Alton Fannin officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Born on Feb. 9, 1912 at Benton, Ark. to Charles William and Georgetta Grimmett Thomas, she died on May 6, 2005 at a local nursing home.
She married Denton B. Still on June 15, 1955 at Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jerry Williams; three sisters and one brother.
Mrs. Still had been a resident of the area since 1979, coming from Oklahoma City. Mrs. Still was a beautician at the Vincie Ann Beauty Salon in Oklahoma City until her retirement in 1969. She was a Pink Lady Volunteer at Mercy Memorial Health Center.
She was a member of the Darcas Sunday School Class and First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Folsom, Ringling, son, Bob Still, Albuquerque, N.M.; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; nephew, Joe Roger Kilpatrick, Florida, and niece, Mardice Bracken, Buncombe Creek.
Bearers are great-grandsons and members of the First Baptist Church. Honorary bearers are the staff of Western Hills.

Donna Sumner

Born on July 12, 1932, in St. Cloud, Minn., to Albert Failes and Rose Baker Ferguson, she died May 4, 2005 at a local hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, Merlyn Ferguson, and a grandson, Ramon Perez.
She married Jack Sumner on Aug. 31, 1973, at Maize, Kan.
Mrs. Sumner had been a resident of Ardmore for 11 years, coming from Wichita, Kan. She enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Sumner belonged to the Ardmore Village where she loved playing bridge on Fridays. She also enjoyed trips to Yuma, Ariz., to visit her friends and fellow bridge players. She was an avid golfer until her health declined. Mrs. Sumner also enjoyed her computer and reading.
Survivors include her husband, Jack, of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Shirley and Craig Marino, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Bonnie Crow, Wichita; a son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Lisa Synder, Colorado Springs, Colo.; a stepdaughter and husband, Leevona and Brian Fortune, Benton, Kan.; a brother and sister-in-law, Don and Arlene Failes, Waynoka; five grandchildren and their spouses, Christopher and Katy Wiebe, Julie and Seth Anderson, Tim and Amy Wiebe, Daniel Synder Jr. and Matthew Synder; three great-grandchildren, Alexandra Wiebe, Sydney Anderson and Hannah Wiebe; and her dog, Ernie.
