A private family service for Susan Kay Green, 54, Enid, will be scheduled at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Krien Funeral Home of Davis.
Interment will be in Rock Cemetery in Livingston, Wisc.
Born March 11, 1952 to James and Pauline Hill in Platterville, Wisc., she died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007 in Enid.
Susan grew up on the farm and liked to work in the field with her dad, helping with cattle and riding her horse.
She had worked at Arbuckle Memorial Hospital as marketing coordinator until ill health caused her to resign.
She had resided in both Sulphur and Davis and performed volunteer work with the Davis Elementary School, working with the physical education department to promote healthy students.
She was on the "Safe and Healthy School Committee, " helping to perform pre and post testing on children's physical fitness program, which was inspirational to both staff and children in encouraging healthy living.
Her desire was to develop a "Rose Walk-A-Thon" on Mother's Day for school children to promote good health.
A Susan Green Rose Garden was established in 2005 at Fullerton Park in Davis in her honor.
She is survived by her mother, Pauline Hill; one sister, Joyce and a brother, John.
She was preceded in death by her father.
In lieu of flowers, a rose bush may be planted in the Susan Green Rose Garden in her honor.
Charles Grant “Bimbo” Lowrance
Services for Charles Grant “Bimbo” Lowrance, 60, were held 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 23, 2014 at Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Sulphur with Charles Cook officiating.
Interment followed at the Lowrance Family Cemetery, south of Sulphur, under the direction of Hale’s Funeral Home of Sulphur.
Born April 10, 1954 in Sulphur to the late Charles Oric Lowrance and the late Eunice Amelia (Miller) Lowrance, he died Tuesday, May 20, 2014, in Oklahoma City.
Charles and Charlotte Caldwell were married on July 14, 1995 in Lone Grove.
He was a 1972 graduate of Fox High School.
He worked in the oil and gas industry.
Throughout his career, he worked for several companies including Baroid, Baker-Hughes and Anchor Drilling.
He was a senior drilling fluid engineer.
In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his grandsons, listing to music, welding and reading.
He was an avid gun collector.
Survivors include his wife Charlotte; daughters, Amelia Lowrance) Cook and husband, Russell, Norman and Chari Wheeler and husband, Danny, Ardmore; one son, Brandon Warren and wife, Sharla, Springtown, Texas; three grandsons; three sisters, Layne (Lowrance) McAdoo and husband, Jim, Albuquerque, N.M., Carolin Lowrance, Norman and Charlotte (Lowrance) Bronstad and husband, Bob of Houston, Texas; one brother, Landon Lowrance and wife, Laura, Sulphur; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Olen Dyer
Olen Dyer of Sulphur passed away May 14, 2014 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 70.
He was born May 15, 1943 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Olen D. Dyer, Sr. and Agutha Ruth (Hill) Dyer.
Olen was united in marriage with Carol Madison in 1964 they were happily married until her passing in 2003.
Olen served his country in two tours of Vietnam.
After the service he worked in the oilfields and was a truck driver.
He enjoyed being in the outdoors fishing and camping.
He loved being with his family and his two dogs, Penny and Rosey.
He is survived by one daughter, Shonda Flowers and husband Corry; one sister, Betty Lowe; three grandsons, Derrick and his wife Morgan, Sean and Carson; one granddaughter, Macey and other family members. Olen was preceded in death by his wife Carol; his parents; one daughter, Shelly Patterson; and one brother, Robert Dyer.
Funeral services were held 11:00am Friday, May 16, 2014 at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at Graham Cemetery.
Services were under the care of Resthaven Funeral Home, Oklahoma City.
Rachel Liann Gilbert
Funeral services for Rachel Liann Gilbert were held 3:00 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2014 at the United Pentecostal Church in Hennepin with Brothers Daniel Johnson and Carl Sledge officiating.
Interment followed at the Hennepin Cemetery.
Rachel was born Nov 16, 1985 in Paul's Valley, OK to Joe and Lisa (Foster) Gilbert.
She died Wednesday, May 21, 2014, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 28 years 6 months and 5 days.
Rachel was a 2004 graduate of Sulphur High School.
She was very much a people person and cherished her time being with friends and family.
She enjoyed listening to music and throwing things, whether it was the remote control, a ball or a piece of paper.
Rachel was happiest when being around babies.
Survivors include her mother, Lisa (Foster) Ivey and husband Mark of Hennepin; father, Joe Gilbert and wife, Terry of Ardmore; sisters, Aimee Gilbert and Karlee Ivey; brother, Jonathan Gilbert; step-brothers, Larry and Jeremy Carter; maternal grandmother, Margie Foster of Hennepin; special friend, Amie Cloyd and numerous aunts, uncle, cousins and friends.
Rachel was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Hal Foster; paternal grandparents W.A. and Juanice Gilbert; great-grandmother, Marie Garrett; uncle, Tim Foster and cousin, Robby Foster.
Services were entrusted to Hale’s Funeral Home, Davis.
Earl Garrett
A memorial service for Earl Garrett, 78, of Sulphur, will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at the Ft. Sill National Cemetery in Elgin with Bro. Eddie Dye, officiating.
Services are under the direction of the Elgin Funeral Home.
Earl L. Garrett left this earth to be with his Lord and Savior and his bride of nearly 53 years, Joan Garrett.
He was 78 years old. Earl Leon Garrett was born on March 22, 1936 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Jess and Cleopatra (Barnett) Garrett.
He graduated from Chickasha High School in 1953 at the age of 17 and immediately joined the United States Navy.
He served our country for 22 years, retiring in 1976.
He later went to work for GSA serving as Federal Building manager in Lubbock, Texas until retiring from GSA in 1992.
He resided in a home at Lake Arbuckle where he finally established his roots.
Earl loved his family, church family along with his OU Sooners, amongst several other hobbies.
“Poppy” loved his children and grandchildren with all of his being.
Earl can now rest forever with his wife.
He will forever be loved and missed.
He is survived by one son, David Garrett and his wife Karen of Little Elm, TX; one daughter, Dara Guffey and her husband Mike of Foster, OK; five grandchildren: Travis Gosnell and his wife Ashlynn of Lindsay, OK, Tyler Gosnell of Lindsay, OK, Kayla Gosnell of Foster, OK, Michael Garrett of Little Elm, TX, and Brenna Garrett of Little Elm, TX; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of nearly 53 years just two weeks prior, Joan Garrett; his parents: Jess and Cleopatra Garrett; one sister, Celeste “Sis” Sanders; three brothers: G.J., Bill Garrett; and Carol G. “Tyke” Garrett.
