Private family services were held for Joyce (Griffin) Cates, 64, Sulphur with Cowley-Krien Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Born December 3, 1940 in Modesto, Calif. to Merle Troy and Martha Jane Henderson Griffin, she died February 1, 2005 in Artesian Nursing Home.
She was born and raised in Modesto and she and her husband had lived in Washington and Texas before moving to Sulphur in 1995 where she lived the remainder of her life.
She married Johnny Cates on August 3, 1958 in Modesto, Calif.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny, of the home; one son, Johnny Eric Cates, Oakdale, Calif.; three daughters, Rebecca Jane Brown, Senora, Calif., Laura Jean Morris, Oakdale, Calif. and Tiffany Darlene Stinson, Sulphur; two brothers, David Lee Griffin, Esclon, Calif. and Danny Ray Griffin, Fresno, Calif.; three sisters, Carol Jean Longden, Denair, Calif., Ruth Elaine Henley, Eufaula and Janie Malk, Denair, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Russell Cates.
Chineenah Jo Baker
Services for Chineenah Jo Baker, 83, Sulphur, were held Friday, Jan. 28 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Sulphur with Rev. Eddie Malphrus and Rev. Willard McCartney, Jr., officiating.
Interment was in Wolf Cemetery, Seminole with Clagg Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Born November 18, 1921 in Ravia to Dan York and Dollie Fagan York, she died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005 in Sulphur.
She married Vernon Wayne Baker on July 24, 1942 in Oklahoma City.
He preceded her in death on July 5, 1999.
She grew up in this area, graduating from Byng High School in 1939.
She lived several years in Yampa, Colorado before coming to Sulphur.
She was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church of Sulphur.
Surviving are two sons and their wives, Dan Arthur and Dusty Lynn Baker, Sulphur and Jeffrey Wayne and Deborah Baker, Greenbrier, Ark.; five grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Seth Moore, Luke Davenport, Jeff West, Levi Davenport, Ron Davenport, James Baker, Linzy Peterson, Larry Peterson and Wayne Baker.
Phyllis Jean Lewis
Services for Phyllis Jean Lewis, 87, Sulphur, were held Saturday, Jan. 29 at 10:00 a.m. at the Vinita Avenue Church of Christ with Tom Byrd and Bill Hearn officiating.
Interment was in Oaklawn Cemetery with Clagg Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Born November 20, 1917 in Coalgate to Guy Sinnett and Ann Sinnett, she died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005 in Sulphur.
She married A.P. Lewis, Jr. in December of 1938 in Ada.
She grew up in Ada, graduating from Ada High School and East Central University with an elementary education degree.
She taught several years in Garvin and Murray County schools.
She taught third grade at Washington Elementary School in Sulphur before retiring.
She was a member of the Vinita Avenue Church of Christ and the Murray County Extension Homemakers.
She is survived by her husband, A.P. Lews, Jr., of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Pat and Earlene Lewis, Stillwater; two grandchildren, Melody Ann Rucker, Edmond and Regan Ray Lewis, Tampa, Fla. and two great grandchildren, Victoria Lynn Rucker and Storm Michael Rucker.
Pallbearers were Bob Bumgarner, John Cagle, Gayle Frederick and Alan Wynn.
Barbara Imotichey
Services for Barbara Imotichey, 58, Sulphur will be held Friday, Feb. 5 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cowley-Krien Funeral Chapel with Rev. Eddie Malphrus and Rev. Willard McCartney, Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in Mill Creek Cemetery with Cowley-Krien Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Born April 4, 1946 in Bennington to Willie and Eula Mae Smith Jones, she died Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at her residence.
She was raised in Mantica, Calif. and moved to Florida in 1967, then to Bay City, Mich.
She moved to Sulphur in 1978 where she lived the remainder of her life.
She married Clarence Imotichey on June 13, 1983 in Sulphur.
She is survived by her husband, of the home; two sons, James Marks, Cushing and Andrew Marks, Octillo, Calif.; two daughters, Robin Akers, and Sherrie Lancaster, both of Sulphur; three brothers, Terry Jones, Splendora, Texas, Allen Jones and Harley Jones, both of Sulphur and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Douglas Jones.
Pallbearers were Jerry Lancaster, Jr., Donnie Akers, Ronnie Akers, Scott McGaha, Kirt McGaha and Kenny Curry.
Beverly Ann (Cochran) Cox
Graveside services for Beverly Ann (Cochran) Cox, 58, Sulphur were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25 at the Condon Grove Cemetery with Rev. Willard McCartney, Jr. officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Cowley-Krien Funeral Home.
Born August 13, 1946 in Altus to Charles and Edna Jones Cochran, she died February 22, 2005, at her residence in Sulphur.
Mrs. Cochran was raised in Sulphur, graduating from Sulphur High.
She married Warren Cox in Gainesville, Texas on June 3, 1988.
She was a homemaker and loved to be with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Samantha Gates, in 2002 and her parents.
Surviving are her husband, Warren, of the home; three daughters, Danielle Wilson, Sulphur, Melissa Blackburn and her husband, Wayne, Sulphur and Karen Matson, Moore.

Born April 1, 1936 in Mill Creek to Minor and Audrey Baker Hughes, she died Friday, Feb. 25, 2005 at her residence.
She married Edward Maxon on April 4, 1993 in Mill Creek.
She was raised in Mill Creek and traveled with her family in the service before moving back to Mill Creek in 1988 where she lived the remainder of her life.
Surviving are her husband, of the home; her mother, Audrey Hughes; six sons, Shawn Taylor, Troy, Forrest Taylor, Mill Creek, Todd Taylor, Reagan, Scott Taylor, Helena, Ronnie Maxon, Denison, Texas and Steve Maxon, Norman; three daughters, Pamela Bice, Mill Creek, Debra Hamilton, Karen Crow, La. and Vicki Baker, Pottsboro, Texas; 27 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; four brothers, Delwyn Hughes, Selwyn Hughes and Howard Hughes, all of Mill Creek and Dewey Hughes, Seminole; five sisters, Jennette Hoefer and Jeannie Nelson, both of Mill Creek, Joyce Solrez and Carrie Pennel, Louisiana and Mildren West, Ada.

Born July 6, 1942 in Norman to Dorothy Lorene (Coggins) and Eddie Clouse (E.O.), Sr., she died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005.
She had lived in Blanchard all her life and attended school there.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a caregiver for Griffin Memorial Hospital.
She enjoyed gardening and baking.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy; two sons, Rex Wigley, and his wife, Lavitta, and Mike Wigley, all of Blanchard; one daughter, Brandi Wigley, Blanchard; her mother, Lorene Dunn and husband, Clinton, Sulphur; three brothers, Mark Dunn and his wife, Kelly, and Tracy Dunn, all of Sulphur and Eddie Clouse and his wife, Sherri, Blanchard; one sister, Brenda Smith, Poteau; a grandson, Justin Wigley; great grandson, Curtis Siler; a nephew, Conner Dunn and nieces, Lauren Dunn, Brighten Dunn, Devin Dunn and Ryan Dunn.
She was preceded in death by her father, E.O. Clouse.

Born February 16, 1947 to William H. and Roxie (Digby) Kellum at Wadley, Alabama, she died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005.
Surviving are two daughters, Angeline and Jennifer McEwin; grandchildren, JoAnna, William, Teena, April, Kaelyn, Harlyn and Jade; a sister, Evelyn Craig and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
