Reverend Lovely Wallace
PARK HILL, Okla. — The Rev. Lovely Wallace, 80, of Park Hill died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, in Tahlequah, Okla.
He was born Jan. 14, 1924, in Kusa, Okla.
He worked with the Oklahoma Methodist Indian Mission Conference seeding several churches in the central United States.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Agent Funeral Home Chapel in Sallisaw with burial at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Vian.
He is survived by his companion, Okla Cheater of the home; a son, Wayne Wallace of Park Hill; a stepson, Jerry Wincle of Benedict, Kan.; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Robert, Michael and Brian Channel, Armandu Cantu, George Cheater Jr. and David Cheater.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Hazel Ochinero
PANAMA — Hazel Vernice Ochinero, 66, of Panama died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, in Panama.
She was born Aug. 21, 1938, in Poteau.
She was a nurse and a member of Panama First Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Evans & Miller Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Poteau with burial at Fairview Cemetery in Panama.
She is survived by her husband, Bill; two daughters, Kathy Bebe of San Antonio, and Krista Ochinero of Heavener; two sons, Wayne Wedge Sr. of Panama and Jim Wedge of Howe; two sisters, Katherine Skelton of Spiro and Linda Korteras of Buffalo, N.Y.; two brothers, Danny Upton of Spiro and Junior Upton of Panama; seven grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Armstrong, Wayne Wedge Jr. and Trey, Chad, Daniel and Manuel Upton.
The family will visit with friends from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Theda McKay
QUINTON, Okla. — Theda L. McKay, 87, of Quinton, Okla., died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, in McAlester, Okla.
She was a member of Quinton Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Quinton Baptist Church with burial at Quinton City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Stigler.
She is survived by four sons, Nathan Ellis of Pearland, Texas, Carroll and David McKay, both of Stigler, and Danny McKay of Weathers, Okla.; two sisters, Geraldine Hardy of Kingman, Ariz., and Billye Wilson of Quinton, Okla.; a brother, Grady Clunn of Hartshorne, Okla.; and seven grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.
Lloyd Milton Sossamon
Lloyd Milton Sossamon, 78, of Owasso, Okla., passed away Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, in Naples, Fla.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ozark, manager of the former Sossamon Lumber Co. and previously served as a member of the Ozark City Council.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Ellen Holloway Sossamon.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Sossamon Strickland and husband Jack of Naples, Fla.; son, Wesley M. Sossamon and wife Shiela of Greenbrier; and two grandchildren, Tasha Sossamon and Chase Sossamon.
The family will visit with friends Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m. at Shaffer Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in Ozark.
Burial will be immediately following at the Highland Cemetery.
Martha Mitchell
CEDARVILLE — Martha Mitchell, 87, of Cedarville died Sunday, May 25, 2003, in Sallisaw.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Grandview Assembly of God, an active member of the Cedarville Senior Citizens Center and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Mitchell, and two sons, Theodore Dickinson and Paul Holthusen.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren.
She is survived by a daughter, Darlene Edwards of Cedarville; five sons, Frederick Dickinson of MacAllen, Texas, Patrick and Steve Holthusen, both of Rudy, Richard Holthusen of Chester and Ed Holthusen of Fort Worth, Texas; a sister, Marie Endress of Okarche, Okla.; two brothers, Russell Luebking of Oklahoma City and Richard Luebking of Mangum, Okla.; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Eric Smitherman, Patrick Holthusen, Paul Henry Holthusen, Ricky Holthusen, Derek Godfrey and James Cooper.
Honorary pallbearers will be William Sheppard and Wayne Edwards.
Elvin Campbell
POTEAU — Elvin L. Campbell, 80, of Poteau died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, in Fort Smith.
He was born June 30, 1924, in Bates.
He was a sawmill worker, a member of First Assembly of God, and the widower of Cumile Campbell.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Greenhill Cemetery in Cameron under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
He is survived by four sons, Alfred Campbell of Waldron, Stoney Campbell of Longview, Texas, Winston and Harvey Cagle, both of Poteau; a sister, Stella Pomeroy of Little Rock; 10 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Betty Hall
HOWE — Betty Jo Hall, 72, of Howe died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, in Poteau.
She was a life-long resident of Howe and a member of the Howe First Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Howe First Baptist Church with burial at Howe Cemetery under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavenr.
She is survived by one sister, Janice Baker of Poteau; one brother, William Hall of Oklahoma City; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Earl Peck
SAN PEDRO, Calif. — Earl Peck, 80, of San Pedro died Monday, Dec. 4, 2000.
He was born June 24, 1920, in Poteau.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday in Green Hills Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., with burial at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes.
He is survived by his wife, Cleo; one son, Kevin of San Pedro; two sisters, Robbie Biggerstaff of Oklahoma and Billie Colvard of Alaska; and three grandchildren.
Earl Brown Jr.
BUCHANAN, Mich. — Earl I. Brown Jr., 70, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, in Poteau.
He was born June 28, 1931, in Bokoshe.
He was a Army veteran and a member of LaRue Messenger American Legion Post No. 26 of Niles, Ill.
He was in quality control.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church in Bokoshe with burial at Old Bokoshe Cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Bethel Baptist Church in Niles, Ill., the family will receive friends one hour before the service.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannette; three daughters, Janice Furr of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, Kathy Fesperman of Poteau and Linda Teel of Big Cabin, Okla.; a son, Dave Brown of Benton Harbor, MIch.; two sisters, Elizabeth Bills of Kinta and Patsy Brooks of Bokoshe; two brothers, George Brown of Bokoshe and Bobby Brown of Carlsbad, N.M.; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

David Hale
MONROE — David H. Hale, 73, of Monroe died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004, in Poteau.
He was born June 5, 1931, in Morrilton.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at Monroe Cemetery under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau.
He is survived by six brothers, Jessie Hale of Valliant, Okla., Alpha Hale of Bakersville, Calif., Lonnie Hale of Monroe, Jimmy Hale of Columbia, Tenn., James Hale of Goldsborough, Tenn., and Larry Hale of Broken Bow, Okla.
Eva Watson
SHADY POINT — Eva Nell Watson, 75, of Shady Point died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, at a local hospital.
She was born Dec. 24, 1928, in Buck Creek, Okla.
She was a rancher, a homemaker and a member of Latham Assembly of God.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with burial at Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
She is survived by her husband, Leon; a son, Larry Watson of Shady Point; two sisters, Norma Reeves of Moore, Okla., and Elinor Pierce of Shady Point; a brother, Frank Wiles of Shady Point; and a grandson.
Pallbearers will be Jim Cluck, Larry Donathan, Ilicks Hoffman, Wade Qualls, Jerry Hensley and Tom Patterson.
The family will meet with friends at the home of Frank Wiles in Shady Point.
June Scott
SALLISAW — June Scott, 85, of Sallisaw died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, in Sallisaw.
She was born May 25, 1919, near Greenwood.
A Greenwood High School graduate, she was retired as secretary for the Sallisaw schools superintendent and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Sallisaw.
She was the widow of Samuel Scott.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church in Sallisaw with burial at Akins Cemetery northeast of Sallisaw under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol Mitchell and Judy Blair, both of Sallisaw; a sister, Wanda Kolb of Dunedin, Fla.; a brother, James Woodhull of Greenwood; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
