He is survived by his three daughters, Rainy Gross, Stormy Beaudro, Windy Alarie of Grants Pass, OR; one son, Rocky Park, Ft. Benning, GA; one sister, Shirley Shepard; five grandchildren.

Velma Elizabeth Evans
Velma Elizabeth Evans, 66, of Poteau, Okla., was born Aug. 26, 1931 in Twitty, Tex. She passed away
Monday, March 9, 1998 at the Sparks Regional Medical Center, Ft. Smith, AR. She was an insurance clerk.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 1998 at the Poteau Valley Baptist Church with Bro. Jim Parsley, Pastor officiating. Interment
Oakland Cemetery, Poteau.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Evans of the home; one daughter, Bonny Venus of Poteau; two sons, Richard Evans of Poteau and Jerry Evans of El Paso, Tex.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Iva Owens of Lincoln, AR, Carolyn Bradley of Ontario, CA, Darlene McClelland of Prairie Grove, AR, and Sharon Gilmore of Westfork, AR; five brothers, Oscar Henson of Sanford, TX, Leslie Henson of LaRussell, MO, Dorsey Henson of Cameron, George Henson of Trona, CA, Rodger Henson of Sarcoxie, MO; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Juanita Moore, 71, of Spiro, Okla. was born June 5, 1926 in Spiro to William McKinley Higgins and Rosie May Taylor Higgins. She passed away
Monday, March 9, 1998 in Spiro. She was self-employed - Moore's Furniture Factory in Spiro. She was of the Pentacostal faith.

will be held Thursday, March 12, 1998 at New Hope Cemetery, Spiro with the Rev. Fred Beesley and Bro. Joe Perry officiating.
Juanita Higgins Moore married
Vance Moore Feb. 18, 1946 in Van Buren, AR.
She is survived by her husband, Vance of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Judy Moore of Spiro; one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Randy Moore II and Paula of Spiro; one great granddaughter, Alexandria Moore of Spiro; one brother Gene Higgins of Spiro; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be Thursday, March 12, 1998 from 11 a.m. until service time at Church of God of Prophecy in Spiro.

Kathryn Delude
Kathryn Delude, 81, of Poteau, Okla., was born May 28, 1916 in Red Oak, Okla. She passed away
Wednesday, March 11, 1998 at the Oaks Health Care Center, Poteau. She was a homemaker.
Private graveside services will be held at the Calvary Cemetery
in Wilburton with Father Joseph Nguyen officiating.
She is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth McClendon of Poteau; two sons, Robert and John Delude, both of Poteau; five grandchildren; eight grandchildren; other relatives, loved ones, and a host of friends.
She is preceded in death
by her parents, Columbus and Mary Williams, her husband, Raymond Delude, her son, Ronnie Delude, and two brothers, Raymond and Paul Williams.

Ruby Willis
Ruby Willis, 93, of Poteau, Okla. was born Oct. 12, 1904 in Huntington, AR. She passed away
Wednesday, March 11, 1998 at the Oaks Health Care, Poteau.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 1998 at the Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau with Rev. Jim Cook officiating. Interment
at the Shady Point Cemetery.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charley and Jan Willis of Melbourne, FL, daughters and sons-in-law, Jewell and James Brice of Anaheim, CA, Mabel and Buddy Hill of Broken Arrow, OK, Carolyn Sue Butler of Independence, MO, Barbara and Bill Ennis of Poteau; brother, Kenneth Rodden of El Centro, CA; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; other relatives, loved ones, and many friends.
She is preceded in death
by her husband, Emery Willis; son, Floyd Taylor Willis, brothers, Oscar, Truman, and Frank Rodden, and two grandchildren.
Ruby and Emery owned and operated a grocery store and restaurant for over 30 years. Ruby was a resident of this community for nearly all of her life.

Willard Vernon Gullick Sr.
Willard Vernon Gullick Sr., 78, of Summers, AR, was born April 4, 1919 in Poteau, OK to William C. Gullick and Bissie (Idea) Cloinger Gullick. He died March 14, 1998 in his residence. Vernon was a disabled veteran, serving in World War II, he was a former employee of the Arkansas Highway Department, and a farmer. He was married
to Bessie Marler in 1937.
He is survived by his wife, Bessie Opal Gullick; four sons, Willard Vernon Gullick Jr. of Lincoln, William Gullick of Siloam Springs, AR, John S. Gullick and David E. Gullick both of Summers, AR; four daughters, Dorothy Perez of Rogers, AR, Edna M. Kelsay of West Siloam Springs, AR, Jean Holland of Summers, AR, and Freda J. Epperson of Lincoln, AR; one brother, Virgie L. Gullick of Miami, OK; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

William Morris Himes
William Morris Himes, 35, of Howe, OK was born Nov. 2, 1962 at Waldron, AR. He passed away
March 14, 1998 at Sparks Regional Medical Center at Ft. Smith, AR. He had been a resident of the Heavener and Howe area all of his life. He was self employed in the forestry business. he was a member of the Protestant faith and was married
to Norma Elwood on Jan. 21, 1992. He is preceded in death
by his father Charlie Himes.
He is survived by his wife, Norma of the home; two sons, William Lynn and Michael Lee Himes, both of Waldron; one step-daughter, Shawna Jean Keeney of the home; mother, Eva Lea Hicks of Hon, AR; seven brothers; and three sisters.

Quinton T. "O.T." Johnson
Quinton T. "O.T." Johnson, 57, of Pocola, OK, died Saturday, March 14, 1998 in a local hospital. He was an employee of Whirlpool Corporation in Fort Smith where he worked in the paint department.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia of the home; two daughters, Tammy White of Fort Smith, and Tina Johnson of the home; one sister, Dorothy Johnson of Muskogee; one brother, Cecil Johnson of Gans; and one grandson, Eric White of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Dearl Hunt, Garry Hunt, Kenneth Hunt, Billy Hunt, Calvin Hunt, and George Horne.
The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Edwards Funeral Home, 201 North 12th Street, Fort Smith.

Corine Alice Miller, 69, of Peggs, OK was born March 3, 1929 in Black Gum, OK. She passed away
Friday, March 13, 1998 in Peggs.
She was a homemaker and a Foster Grandparent at Peggs Elementary School for the 3rd grade class.
Services were held 2 p.m. Monday, March 16, 1998 at the Pentecostal Church of God, Poteau with Rev. Gary Walden officiating. Interment
at Mt. View Cemetery, Hackett, AR.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Terry Hewitt of Durant, two sons and daughters-in-law, Dwight and Lana Miller of Bixby, and Gary and Debra Miller of Pryor; four sisters, Betty Henderson of Peggs, Velma Tehee of Locust Grove, Juanita Newberry of Springdale, AR; three brothers, Kenneth Morris and Everett Morris both of Cameron, Johnny Morris of Stonewall, LA; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Miller was a member of the Assembly of God Church of Peggs, OK. She is preceded in death
by her husband, Floyd; two sons, Billy Ray Miller and Darrell Miller.
Doris Wilburn Moore
Doris Wilburn Moore, 74, of Smithville, OK was born Feb. 10, 1924 at Hatfield, AR to John and Exie (Nichols) Moore. He passed away
March 12, 1998 at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Muskogee.
He was an honorably discharged World War II Army Veteran. He had lived in the Octavia area since 1959 where he was a member of the Octavia Baptist Church.
He was married
to Gladys Fitzgerald on Feb. 21, 1964 in Octavia. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge, Heavener. His employment had been with the LeFlore County Highway Department District #3. He retired as Road Supervisor after 27 years.
He is preceded in death
by a sister, Inez Mullin, 1966 and his first wife, Geraldine Hensley Moore.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys of the home; son, Deriel Moore of DeQueen, AR; brother, Lee Moore of Vista, CA; two sisters, Wilma Leonard of Cheyenne, WY, Leona Moore of Lawton; four grandchildren; Russell Moore and Skyla Moore both of Van Buren, AR, Chelsea Jetton and Olivia Jetton both of DeQueen; numerous friends and loved.
Services were held 11 a.m. Monday, March 16, 1998 at the Octavia Baptist Church with Rev. Carrol Fitzgerald and Rev. Ed Rogers officiating. Interment
Octavia Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Will J. Smith, Edgel Phillips, Rudy Barnes, Lee Roy Williams, Lowell Nichols, Garland Owens, and John Hensley.
Honorary bearers: Charlie Cox and J. C. Moore.
Eldon Simmons
Eldon Simmons, 73, of Pocola, OK. died Saturday, March 14, 1998 in a Fort Smith, AR hospital. He was a retired supervisor for ABF Freight, member of First Baptist Church in Fort Smith, World War II Veteran of the U.S. Navy, member of the Western Arkansas Scottish Rite Bodies, and member of Madison Masonic Lodge #91 in Madison, Mo.

Fred Wilbanks, 84, of Heavener, OK, died Sunday March 15, 1998 in Henryetta, OK. He was a lifelong resident of the area.

He is survived by his sister, Myrtle Wilbanks of Heavener; three brothers, Ted Wilbanks, Ed Wilbanks, both of Heavener and L.G. Wilbanks of Tulsa.
Billie M. Reyes
Billie M. Reyes, 94, a resident of River Park Health Care Center, Rock Island, IL, formerly of Poteau, Okla., died Sunday, March 15, 1998 at Trinity Medical Center West Campus, Rock Island.
Funeral services
will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 1998 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island, where she was a member. Interment
will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island.
Visitation was Tuesday, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. today at Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island, where a Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Memorials or Mass intentions may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church.
Billie Mae Owens was born May 9, 1903 in Gilmer, TX, the daughter of William and Lucinda Smallwood Owens. She married
Anthony Reyes in 1953 in Chicago, he died in 1955.
During World War II, she was active in promoting the sale of War Bonds.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Melissa Reyes of Rock Island and grandchildren, Dawn Reyes Mier of Ft. Smith, AR, Sarah M., James G. and Tony M. Reyes, all of Rock Island.
Leta Dorothy Kirkley
Leta Dorothy Kirkley passed away
Jan. 14, 1998 in Pasadena, TX. She was born Feb. 11, 1926 in Poteau, OK.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Amos Howard Kirkley; daughters, Peggy Hall and husband, Robert of Huntsville, TX, Judy Walker and husband Lou of Seneca, MO, Pamela Howard and husband Larry of La Porte, TX and Debra Widener and husband, Wayne of Houston, TX; sons, David Kirkley and wife Carolyn of League City, TX, Richard Kirkley and wife Pamela of La Porte, Keith Kirkley and wife, LeAnn of La Porte, and Steven Kirkley of Dallas, TX.
She is also survived by five sisters, and one brother; 11 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services
were to have been held Saturday, Jan. 17 in the Chapel at Paul U. Lee-La Porte Funeral Home, with burial
at the La Porte Cemetery.
