DALE EMMERT BRALLIER

Dale Emmert Brallier, 69 of Rogersville, MO was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday December 30, 2006 at Cox Hospital South Springfield, MO. Dale was born on August 7, 1937 in Curlew, IA to Evan Lowell Brallier and Hazel Marie (Rouse) Brallier who preceded him in death. On October 12, 1963 in Denver, CO Dale was united in marriage to Twilla “Pat” Welch, daughter of Burnie and Rosie Welch. Dale was a 35 year resident of the Rogersville area, who along with his wife founded Sportsman Pickup Covers / E.D. Industries and Sportsland Automotive Accessories, which are still in operation today. As a young man Dale was always an entrepreneur in many different endeavors ranging from chicken farming in Mexico City, Mexico, to programming some of the earliest computers for IBM in Chicago, IL. Dale taught automotive school in Wichita, KS in the late 60’s and then moved to the Rogersville area where he started his business that currently exists. Dale was a very generous and loving man devoted to his wife, family and friends. He was happiest working in his shop, gardening, improving his land and spending time with his loved ones, as well as the challenges of business. Dale was a founding member of the Light Truck Accessory Association (LTAA), a member of the Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association (SEMA) and a member of the Rogersville Chamber of Commerce.

Surviving is his wife Pat Brallier of the home, two sons: Steve Brallier and wife Kirsten of Rogersville, MO, Randy Schamberger and wife Ann of Houston, TX; Two daughters: Debbie Maves and husband Charlie of Sennibor, Wis. and Judy Seldomridge and husband Bill of West End, NC; Two sisters: Janice Duncan and husband Howard of Evergreen, Colorado and Betty Gripe and husband Bill of Weatherford, OK; 10 Grandchildren: Alanna Brallier, Grant Brallier, Preston Schamberger, Brennan Schamberger, Melissa Sprasky, Elizabeth Ehmann-Kollipara, Josie Maves, Cono Burton, Rebecca Burton and John Burton; 7 Great Grandchildren: Brooke and Nicolas Sprasky, Courtney and Truman Burton, and Katelyn, Cole and Kamryn Bivens.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday January 3, 2007 at the Preston-Marsh Funeral Home Rogersville, MO. Burial was in the White Oak Cemetery. Visitation was from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Donors Choice. This is not goodbye, it is goodnight. We will all be together again soon.

LORENE MAE GOURLEY

Funeral services for Lorene Mae Gourley, 97, of Tuttle, Oklahoma were held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at the First Baptist Church of Tuttle.

Lorene Mae Gourley was born December 2, 1909 in Amber, Oklahoma the daughter of John Abraham and Nellie Burnley (Oliver) Conner and died December 21, 2006 in Tuttle, Oklahoma.

Lorene lived in the Tuttle area most of her life, moving back to Tuttle from Ozona, Texas in May of 2005.

She worked as a cook for several cafes in Tuttle and Tuttle Public Schools. She also served as a cook for Falls Creek and the Tuttle Care Center.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tuttle, Rebecca Lodge and the Tuttle Round-up Club.

Lorene and Dan Gourley were married, and he preceded her in death in 1979.

She was also preceded in death by: One son: J.T. Gourley; Infant grandchild: Patricia Mae; Parents; three brothers and one sister.

Survivors include: Two daughters and their husbands: Polly and Max Defibaugh of Tuttle, Pat and Richard Boykin of Water Valley, Texas; Two brothers and their wives: Jack and Alma Conner of Midland, Texas, Warren and Margie Conner of Katy, Texas; Five grandchildren: Danny Kaler and wife Cathy, Jesse Gourley and wife Debbie, Russell Gourley and wife Janet, Tony Churchill, Jerry Defibaugh and wife Bonnie; Two stepgrandchildren: Sheila Hibdon and Jeff Cunningham; 11 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; Best friends: Bernice Kruzan and Marie Garrett.

Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

BETTY JO LAY

Funeral services for Betty Jo Lay, 77, of Tuttle, Oklahoma were held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 30, 2006 at the Sowers Memorial Chapel, Tuttle.

Betty Jo Lay was born March 6, 1929 in Walters, Oklahoma the daughter of Jess and Nellie (Bullard) Mitchell and died December 27, 2006 at her home in Tuttle.

Mrs. Lay lived in Tuttle for almost 50 years.

She was preceded in death by: Her husband: Carl E. Lay in 1989; three sisters; one brother; parents.

Survivors include: Two sons and their wives: Larry Eugene and Kathy Lay of Jacksonville, Florida, Michael Charles and Debra Lay of Tuttle, Oklahoma; One daughter and her husband: Patricia and Grady White of Bridgecreek, Oklahoma; One sister: Judy Schlotter; One brother: Sam Mitchell; 11 Grandchildren; 16 Great grandchildren.

Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

ANTHONY ‘TONY’ H. COURTNEY

Funeral services for Anthony “Tony” H. Courtney, 49 of Tuttle, Oklahoma were held at 4 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007 at the Tuttle Elementary School Cafetorium.

Anthony “Tony”’ H. Courtney was born December 8, 1957 in West Virginia. He went to watch the big baseball game in heaven with Jesus on Jan. 5, 2007. Tony was preceded in death by his father Lee Courtney of Indiana and his mother Geneva Courtney of Indiana, a brother Eddie Courtney of Indiana, and his sister Trina Courtney also of Indiana. Tony leaves behind his beautiful and loving bride of nineteen years Donna of the home, four sons: Tommy Pedrosa of Tuttle, Tristan Courtney of the home, Cody Courtney of the home and Nathan Courtney of Indiana; three daughters: Tabatha Courtney of the home, Kayla Courtney of the home and Nadine Courtney of Indiana and one grandson Kyle of Indiana. Also a brother Mike Courtney of Indiana.

Tony worked for the Tuttle School system for almost 10 years. Whether he was driving the special education bus (there were so many of the children that Tony loved and he would talk about them all the time), or if he was driving the cheerleaders wherever they needed to go, or doing his maintenance job, Tony was always giving of himself to help others. You could always count on having Tony at all of the Tuttle games no matter where or what game it was, he was there cheering for Tuttle and his kids.

Tony had many friends; he never met anyone who was not his friend. He touched each one of us in some way, and we will always remember him with warm thoughts in our hearts.

Pallbearers are Tristan Courtney, Grant Glasser, Joseph Scott, Nathan Harp, Zack Ramirez, Bryce Moore, Garrett Bayliff, Corey Potter, Reno Marical and JP Curlee.

Honorary pallbearers are Travis Simpkins, Butch Glover, Jimmy Nance, Mike Courtney, Tommy Pedrosa, Denis Fine, Clint Shultz and Randy Jaco.

Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home of Tuttle.

RICHARD ‘BUGS’ LEON KILPATRICK

Richard “Bugs” Leon Kilpatrick was born December 16, 1924 in Temple, Okla. to Viola Grace (Stansbury) and Thomas Walter Kilpatrick.

He graduated from Temple High School and served in the Army during World War II. Richard and Gladys Joy Eaton married on November 8, 1947 in Wichita Falls, Texas and they celebrated 59 loving years together.

Richard lived in Oklahoma City before moving to the Tri City area in 1981. He enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with his family and friends.

Richard passed away January 9, 2007 at 82 years of age and will be greatly missed by his family.

Survivors include his wife Gladys Joy of Tuttle; his sons, Rick Kilpatrick and his wife, Shirley, of Blanchard, Mick Kilpatrick of Oklahoma City, Billy Wayne Kilpatrick of Tyrone; daughter Joy Levon Blackburn and her husband Dave of Massillon, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and one on the way; brothers, Bill Kilpatrick and his wife Liz of Biloxie, Mississippi, Tommy Kilpatrick and his wife Connie of Yantis, Texas; other relatives and friends.

Services were held at 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 12, 2007 at the Assembly of God Church in Tuttle. Reverend Larry Harris officiated with interment held in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements made by Eisenhour Funeral Home, Blanchard.

GERALD B. ‘PISTOL’ LOCKE

Funeral services for Gerald B. “Pistol” Locke, 71 former Minco resident were held on Friday January 19, 2007, 2 pm at the First Baptist Church of Minco with Rev. Jerry Cradduck officiating.

Pistol was born on March 13, 1935 at Minco to Jesse Barney and Mabel Marie (Myers) Locke. He passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at Oklahoma City.

Pistol had lived in the Minco and Cogar community all of his life and graduated from Minco High School in 1955. He joined and served in the United States Air Force after Korea. He worked and retired from the City of Minco as a maintenance worker. Pistol married Beulah Ola (Scoggins) on June 22, 1992 at El Reno.

Mr. Locke was preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Mabel Locke; wife Ola on June 26, 1995; one brother: Allan A. Locke; one sister: Linda Taylor.

He is survived by one daughter: Rebecca (Unknown last name and address); two sisters and brothers-in-law: Joy and Vernon Kettler of Tuttle and Pat and Don Chism of San Mateo, CA; three brothers and two sisters-in-law: Ben Locke of Crescent, Dean and Kelly Locke of Edmond, and Willie and Susan Locke of Frazier Park, CA; one brother-in-law: Jerry Taylor of Chandler.

Burial in Evergreen Cemetery of Minco under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.

IRIS ANNIE BRADLEY

Iris Annie Bradley, age 99 of Wayne, died Monday, Jan. 29, 2007 at Lexington Nursing Home.

She was born August 7, 1907 in Tuttle, Okla. to Lemuel Swain Rowland and Louisa Sullivant Rowland. She grew up in Tuttle and graduated from Tuttle High School. She later met and married Orin Bradley.

She graduated from the University of Oklahoma and also received a Masters degree from OU. Over the years Iris taught school in the Tuttle and Cyril School Systems. She also taught for many years at Wayne Public Schools. While in Wayne she was an active longtime member f the Wayne Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lemuel and Louisa Rowland; her husband, Orin E. Bradley in 1990; a daughter, Lemois R. Ervi in 1998; a sister, Lillian Potter in 2004; and a granddaughter, Laura Ervi in 1988.

She is survived by a son-in-law , Robert Ervi and wife Donna of Garland, Texas; one Grandson, Richard Ervi and wife Suzanne of Fairfax, Va.; and nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, 2007 at the Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle, Okla. with Mr. David Howell officiating. Arrangements by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

PERCY LOCKLEAR, JR.

Percy Locklear, Jr., age 76 of Blanchard, passed away Monday, Jan. 29, 2007 at Midwest Regional Hospital.

He was born on April 12, 1930 in Fayetteville, N.C. His parents were Percy Locklear, Sr. and Georgie Allen Locklear.

Percy grew up in North Carolina and Ohio. In the 1950s he moved to Oklahoma and it was there he met the love of his life. On May 5, 1983 he married Peggy Lou Thompson and they made their home in Oklahoma City until she passed away in 2004.

Percy worked for the City of Oklahoma City for several years before going to work for the City of Moore. He worked for the City of Moore for nearly 22 years before retiring in 2000.

Percy and Peggy were a couple that had unconditional love for the family. Together they raised several of their grandchildren and help baby sit great grandchildren. There wasn’t anything they wouldn’t do for their kids. Throughout his life Percy enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. In his later years, all that mattered was being with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Peggy on March 24, 2004; and one grandson, Michael Thompson.

He is survived by two children, Ricky Thompson of Tuttle and Karen Sexton of Blanchard; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and many friends and co-workers.

Viewing will be Wednesday and Thursday at Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Newcastle. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 2, 2007 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell.

Pallbearers will be Gary Jones, Joe Bob Thompson, Jeffery Hackett, Ricky Joe Thompson II, John Riley Thompson and John Kirkenkamp. Honorary bearers will be his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

SHIRLEY ANN ‘MICKEY’ BATES

Shirley Ann “Mickey” Bates was born May 14, 1936 in Pocasset, Okla. to Audra (Nutt) and Ed Gore.

Mickey has lived in the Blanchard area for over 50 years and attended Bridge Creek High School. She was a member of the Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God Church in Oklahoma City and enjoyed working with the Hillcrest Children’s Home and the Polycystic Kidney Foundation of America.

Mickey was a homemaker and had earned a cosmetology license. She enjoyed doll collecting and Eureka Springs was her favorite town to visit.

Mickey passed away Feb. 2, 2007 at 70 years of age.

Survivors include her husband, Don, of the home; sons, Rickie Bates and wife, Joann of Tombstone, Ariz., Don Douglas Bates and wife, Kathi of Yukon and Terry Bates and wife, Robin of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Kristi and Tobi Ross, Jeremiah, Joshua and Cyndi, Jessica, Jeffrie, Zachery, Katie, Nicholas, Mathew, Rachael, Naomi, and Jason; great grandchildren, Emily, Joey, Landon; sisters, Troy Lee Preston and husband, Orvil of Modesto, Calif., Doris Wright of Tuttle and Connie Rogers and husband Doug of Blanchard; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Sonny Gore and Billy Joe Gore.

Services were held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007 at the Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God Church in Oklahoma City. Reverend Terry Bates, Pastor Theodore Hughes and Reverend Melvin Grant officiated with interment held in the Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle. Arrangements made by Eisenhour Funeral Home, Blanchard.

HAROLD D. LEIGHTON

Harold D. Leighton, 82, on Blanchard, Okla., received his wings on Jan. 30, 2007 after a brief illness.

He was born in Cushing, Okla., Feb. 9, 1924 to Harold Dale Leighton, Sr. and Ada Blanche Lathers Leighton. Harold grew up in Stillwater with his siblings James, Virginia and Mary.

Drafted in the U.S. Army in 1943, he served in artillery in England, France, Belgium and Germany. At the end of World War II he took a break from the service. In 1947 he continued his career in the Army, stationed 16 years in Germany, eight years in Ft Bliss, Texas and serving two tours in Vietnam. After 26 years he retired in 1971 as a Sergeant First Class.

In 1973 he started working again and went to work at the Oil Center and later the Medical Tower in Oklahoma City, retiring again in 1989.

Harold was married to Susanne Krifka of Germany for 10 years and together they had two sons.

On Aug. 31, 1973, Harold married Esther Hutchinson and with this union brought two families together. Harold and Esther lived in Oklahoma City for three years and moved to the Newcastle-Blanchard area in 1976.

He accepted Jesus as his Savior and was a born again Christian.

Throughout his life, Harold enjoyed gardening, tinkering around the home, reading and collecting war memorabilia.

He will be remembered as a good husband, a loving dad and grandpa, a wonderful uncle and a good friend and neighbor.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James; and two sisters, Virginia and Mary.

He is survived by his loving wife, Esther of 33 years of the home in Blanchard; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Birgit Leighton of Oakland, Calif. and Bill and Janyce Leighton of Oklahoma City; two stepsons and wives, Dannie and Priscilla Hutchinson of Neodesha, Kan. and Chilles and Brenda Hutchinson of Newcastle; one brother, Ben Leighton and wife Amy of Okeechobee, Fla.; one sister-in-law, Lillian Leighton of Choctaw; nine grandkids; 14 great-grandkids, numerous nephews and nieces; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, 2007 at the Christian Life Assembly of God in Newcastle. Officiating was Rev. Chilles Hutchinson. Memories by family. Pallbearers were Dannie Lynn Hutchinson, Jr., Donnie Lynn Hutchinson, Michael Tieu, Michael Robertson, Justin McVay and David George. Honorary pallbearers will be his great grandkids. Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Newcastle.
