Frances Marie Montgomery
Age 82, Lawton, Services will be 10:00 am Monday in the Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Baggett, officiating.
Mrs. Montgomery died Thursday in a Lawton Hospital.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home.
She was born September 25, 1922 at Hobart, Oklahoma, to Daniel and Hazel Clark Fowler. She grew up in Hobart and was a 1940 graduate of Hobart High School. Following graduation she worked for the telephone office in Hobart. She came to Lawton in the mid 1940’s and worked as a secretary for the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union but she was primarily a homemaker.
She was married to William Shwen in February of 1945 in Lawton. She later married Albert E. Taylor on January 24, 1954 at Rockwall, Texas. He preceded her in death on November 2, 1963. She then married Ray Montgomery in December of 1967 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He also preceded her in death. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was very active, having taught Sunday school and served in the church nursery.
Survivors include two daughters and sons in law, Sarah and Tom Riddle, Lawton, and Dana and Larry Newsom, Elgin; a son, Dwight Taylor, Austin, Texas; six grandchildren, Janna Davis and husband Donald, Wes Riddle, Kyle and Kristan Newsom and Katie and Lauren Taylor; two great grandchildren, Miranda and Madeline Davis.
Two sisters, Vivian Powers and Virginia Beverly, and a brother, John Fowler, preceded her in death.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to Calvary Baptist Church.
Betty Jane Gates
Age 82, Lawton - Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Irv Johnson, Chaplain, Hospice of Southwest Oklahoma, officiating.
Mrs. Gates died Saturday after a lengthy illness.
Entombment will be under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home.
Betty was born July 20, 1923 in Topeka, Kansas to Earl and Lillian Wentworth. She grew up in Topeka, where she met and married MAJ (Retired) C.G. "Pete" Gates on May 31, 1947. He died on July 12, 1995. She was a homemaker, making a home for her family in many places during her husband’s military career.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Rita Eubanks and Dale of Lawton and Laura Glenn-Thompson and Terry of Fresno, California; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward Wentworth and Barbara of Topeka, Kansas; a sister, Marie McMinn of Kansas City, Missouri; six grandchildren, Catherine J. Sinning and husband, Dennis, of Eldridge, Iowa; Michael Munos and wife, Amy, of San Antonio, Texas; Thomas J. Munos and wife, Laura, of Corpus Christi, Texas; John David Glenn, III and wife, Stacy, of Georgetown, Texas; Melanie Fortier and husband, Warren, of Fresno, California; Christine Sloan of Lexington, Kentucky; and eleven great grandchildren.
Her husband, a son, Robert L. Gates, and a brother, Earl J. Wentworth, preceded her in death.

MSG (Retired) Leonard J. Rulon
Age 86, Lawton - Services will be at 10:00 AM Friday at the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Leonard Reimer, chaplain, Faith Healthcare and Hospice officiating.
Sgt Rulon died Tuesday at his home.
Burial with full military honors will be at Post Cemetery, Fort Sill.
He was born August 20, 1919 in Saratoga, Texas to Frank Luther and Lola Caldona (Woodard) Rulon. He attended school in Merryville, Louisiana from 1926 to 1929 and in Kountze, Texas from 1930 to 1936. He also attended Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas and Cameron University in Lawton. Sgt Rulon was inducted into the U.S. Army on August 11, 1942 in Liberty, Texas and retired on October 1, 1967 at Fort Sill. He served in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He married Velma Geraldine Ellison on May 19, 1988 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.Sgt Rulon was a member of the VFW Post 5263.
Survivors include his wife; of the home, eight children and their spouses; Jack and Judy Rulon, Hardin, Texas, Kenneth and Valerie Rulon, Silsbee, Texas, Nan and Will Doucet, Midland, Georgia, Anna Rulon, Columbus, Georgia, Bryan and Kathy Rulon, Columbus, Georgia, Betty and Ronnie Vaughan, Lawton, Jerry Rulon and his fiancée Kitko, Elgin, and Kellie and Drew Dyer, Oklahoma City, a stepson and his wife; Frank and Michelle Harrington, Lawton, a sister and brother-in-law; Jewel and Kelly Meacham, Apalachicola, Florida, sixteen grandchildren, three step grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a grandson; Jack Dale Rulon, Jr.

Leroy Allen Lawson
Age 77, Fletcher - Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, July 19, 2006 in the Fletcher Assembly of God with Rev. Robert Whitley, Pastor officiating.
Mr. Lawson died Saturday in an Anadarko nursing home.
Burial will be in the Fletcher Cemetery under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home of Fletcher (formerly Robbins Funeral Home).
He was born August 5, 1928 in Apache, Oklahoma to Henry and Myrtle (Brown) Lawson. He married Mable Ruth Parson on June 19, 1956 in Wichita, Kansas. They had been married fifty years this past June. He operated Leroy’s Service Station in Fletcher from 1971 to 1976, and did custom bailing in the area for many years. He attended the Fletcher Assembly of God.
Survivors include his wife of the home, four children: Rockey Lawson and his wife Bobbie of Apache, OK, Rodney Lee Lawson of Tulsa, OK, Gaylen Blackburn and her husband Claud of Fletcher, OK and Sharon Kay Griffin of Fletcher, OK. He is also survived by a sister Gladys Robinson of Oklahoma City, OK, a brother Hank Lawson and his wife Ginger of California, three grandchildren, Christopher Dean Blackburn of Lemoore, CA, Tabitha Kay Blackburn of Fletcher, OK and Steven Carl Griffin of Fletcher, OK. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Strawn, Angus and Everest and a sister Lahoma.

Arvazene “Zene” Pair
Age 81, Lawton - Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Cameron Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Teel, Associate Pastor, and Rev. John Pair, officiating.
Mrs. Pair died Sunday in Lawton.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m.
Burial will be in the Post Cemetery, Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, under the direction of Becker Funeral Home.
She was born on October 10, 1924 in Rockwood, TN, to James T. and Iva Lee (Pelfrey) Riddle. She was a homemaker, but she also held several accounting positions with Civil Service. She married Thomas E. Pair on July 13, 1956 in Rockwood, TN.
Survivors include her husband of the home; 2 daughters, Alice Dunn of Freeport, IL, and Libby Windover of Lawton; 6 grandchildren, Paul and Mark Winegar, Debbie Maksl, Thomas, Robin, and Austin Windover; 8 great grandchildren, Mitch and Amanda Kuczynski, Joshua and Jacob Winegar, Kyndahl and Brayden Windover, and Tyler And Jodie Maksl; a brother, George Riddle of AL; and a sister, Deanie Brown of TN.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Owen Riddle; infant daughter, Brenda Sue; and 2 grandsons, Todd and Joseph Kuczynski.
Jeanne H. Weatherly
Age 77, Lawton - Services will be at 1:30 pm Wednesday in the Becker Memorial Chapel with Rev. Doug Passmore, Pastor of First Baptist East officiating.
Mrs. Weatherly died Sunday at her home.
A private family burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
She was born November 4, 1928 in Mangum, Oklahoma to Joseph Ripley and Mildred (Bartee) Harris. She married John M. Weatherly on June 11, 1967 in Choctaw, Oklahoma. He died May 29, 1974. On March 19, 1998 she re-connected with her high school sweetheart Joe N. Moore. They were together until his death on September 14, 2005. She was retired from Civil Service.
Survivors include her son Bart Wheeler and his wife Susan of Lawton, grandson Kramer Wheeler of Lawton, and a step-grandson Matthew Duplechain also of Lawton.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Katie Jo O’Toole
Age 81, Lawton - Memorial service will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, October 12, 2006 at the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jim McGuire, chaplain, Hospice of Southwest Oklahoma officiating.
Mrs. O’Toole died Wednesday in Lawton.
She was born March 7, 1925 in Gainesville, Texas to Leathon Otis and Delitha Elizabeth (Curtis) Toole. Mrs. O’Toole was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include four children; William Delbert Edwards, Hamilton, Ohio, Vy and her husband Dr. Rick Brittingham, Lawton, Kathy Brown-Edwards, Sacramento, California and Rebecca Mae Edwards, Oklahoma City, a brother; Mark, California, four sisters; Flora and Florence, both of California, and Eunice and Betty, both of Nevada, eight grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers; Jack, Otis and Carl and two sisters; Emma and Laura.

Geraldine “Jeri” Massad
Age 79, Lawton - Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the First Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Massad died Thursday in Lawton.
Private family burial will be in Highland Cemetery under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home.
Friends may greet the family from 6:30 pm – 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
She was born January 30, 1927 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Nayef and Hazel Massad. She grew up in Tyler, Texas. She graduated high school in Tyler and later attended Texas Women’s University in Denton, Texas. She married Glen W. Massad on July 11, 1948 in Tyler. He preceded her in death on January 12, 1992. She was a longtime Lawton resident having moved here from Duke and she and her husband owned and operated Glen’s Namebrands in Lawton for several years.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she had served as president of the Presbyterian Women. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and served on the board for Hospice of Southwest Oklahoma.
She is survived by two daughters and a son in law, Debi and Ed Condra, Dallas, and Darla Massad, Lawton; a son, Dr. Dale Glen Massad, Port Richey, Florida; two brothers and sisters in law, Frank and JoAnne Massad, Houston, Texas, and Joy and Trish Massad, Tyler, Texas; a sister, Jean Massad, Tyler; seven grandchildren, Rainey Massad, Luke Condra, Kelsey Condra, Casey Gordon, Brittney Condra, Chelsey Gorgon and Westcott Condra.
