DAVENPORT
Janice Marie Bennett (Davenport), age 62, of Lawton, passed away on July 22, 2007, at Comanche County Memorial
Hospital in Lawton.
Ms. Bennett was born on August 3, 1944, to J.C. and Lorraine (Troxell) Bennett at Altus, Oklahoma. After attending
Altus Public Schools, Janice moved to Amarillo, Texas where she worked in clothing manufacturing and retail sales.
Living in Perryton, Texas, Soper, Oklahoma, Forgan, Oklahoma, she moved to Lawton in 1988, where she was
employed as an elementary teachers’ aide with Lawton Public Schools for a number of years. Raising her Chichua dogs
and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren were her favorite pastimes.
Preceded in death by her parents, Janice is survived by three children, Kristy Dement, John M. Overstreet and Nicole
Davenport, all of Lawton; six grandchildren, A1C Caleb Maupin, Mitchell Dement, Courtney Dement, J.J. Overstreet,
Jordie Overstreet and Jason Johnson, all of Lawton; three brothers, Johnny Bennett and wife Brenda of Amarillo, Texas,
Jerry Bennett and wife Becky of Booker, Texas and Jeff Bennett of Amarillo, Texas along with many nieces, nephews,
cousins other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Janice Bennett will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, August 3, 2007, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel
with Bro. Bob Jones officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims
Funeral Home of Altus.
The family will greet friends on Thursday, from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
DAVIS
Hubert Davis, age 70, of Eldorado, died Thursday, August 2, 2007.
Hubert Charles Davis was born in Hollywood, West Virginia on January 29, 1937. His parents were George and
Orpha (Wright) Davis. He married Fumie (Matsuda) Davis in 1960 in Tokeyo, Japan. To this union they brought two
sons, Charles and Michael Davis.
Hubert retired after 20 years of service as MSGT in the United States Air Force. He lived in California, then lived in
Altus for one year, and has called Eldorado his home for the past six years. He was a member of the NRA and the
DAV.
Hubert is survived by his wife Fumie Davis; children, Charles Davis of Germany, and Michael Davis and wife Tami of
Martinez, California; two brothers; John Davis, Barberton, Ohio and Walter Davis of Dayton, Ohio; and two
grandchildren, Danielle Davis and Alexis Davis.
Funeral services for Hubert Davis will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 7, at Eldorado First Baptist Church with Rev.
Pete Wylie officiating. Inurnment will follow at the National Cemetary. Services are under the direction of
Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.
DAVIS
Joseph Ryan Davis, age 22 of Altus Air Force Base, passed away early Monday, May 29, 2006, north of Blair, as the
result of a motor vehicle accident.
Joseph was born on February 5, 1984 to Ralph Charles Davis and Lydia Withrow in Orange County, California. As a
military son, Joseph lived in many places including; San Antonio, Texas, Tucson, Arizona, Sierra Vista, Arizona and
Altus where he moved to in 2004. Nicked named, “Jo-Joe Binx”, he enjoyed music, making people laugh, being with
his friends and picking on his sisters, whom he loved with all his heart. As a student at Western Oklahoma State
College, his goal was to become a registered nurse.
Preceded in death by his grandfather, Harry Davis, he is survived by his mother and stepdad, Lydia and Dustin
Withrow of Altus Air Force Base; father, Ralph Davis of Fullerton, California; two sisters, Sierra and Victoria Withrow
(with both living at home with him); grandmother, Florence Davis of Fullerton, California; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Guadalupe Guerrero of Pasadena, Texas; grandmother, Kathy Dodderer (Gammy) of Huntington Beach, California
along with many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends whom he dearly loved.

Lola Mae Davis
Lola Mae Davis, age 87, passed away January 1, 2006, at Comanche County Memorial Hospital.
She was born January 10, 1918, in Charleston, Arkansas, to Ernest Edgar and Martha (Gibson) Stuckey.
On July 17, 1933 in Wetumka, Oklahoma, Lola and Vernie Davis were united in marriage. They made their home in
the Blair community for over 72 years.
Lola worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aide at Jackson County Memorial Hospital for 20 years.
She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and most of all taking care of her family. Lola truly believed that her purpose in life was
to take care of her family. She was devoted to keeping them healthy and happy. She was a long time member of the
Home Economic Club at Warren. Lola was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church at Warren, Oklahoma where
she served her church as assistant pianist..
Lola is survived by her husband Vernie Davis of the home; four sons, James Davis and wife Alma of Lawton,
Oklahoma, Gene Davis and wife Karen of Warren, Oklahoma, Mac Davis and wife Nina of Warren, Oklahoma and
Dick Davis and wife Kay of Cashion, Oklahoma; one sister, Mabel Hendricks of Rogers, Arkansas; and one brother,
Ray Stuckey of Norman, Oklahoma. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, fifteen great- grandchildren, four
great- great- grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, three brothers, one grandchild and one great- grandchild.
Funeral Services for Lola Mae Davis will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at 2:00pm atWarren Baptist Church
with Rev. Kenneth Lyles officiating. Interment will follow at the Warren Cemetery. Arrangements are under the

Vernie Marion Davis
Vernie Marion Davis, age 95 passed away Monday, May 1, 2006 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
He was born January 28, 1911 in Cecil, Arkansas to James Hamilton and Mary Jane (Edwards) Davis.
On July 17, 1933 in Wetumka, Oklahoma Vernie and Lola Stuckey were united in marriage. They had lived in the
Blair community for over 72 years. She preceded him in death January 1, 2006.
Vernie farmed in the Warren community for many years, after he retired , Vernie found lots of quality time to spend
with his family and friends. He was a longtime member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Warren, Oklahoma.
Vernie is survived by four sons, James Davis and wife Alma of Lawton, Oklahoma, Gene Davis and wife Karen of
Warren, Oklahoma, Mac Davis and wife Nina of Warren, Oklahoma and Dick Davis and wife Kay of Cashion,
Oklahoma ; one sister, Clara Sizemore of Ft. Smith, Arkansas ; one sister-in-law, Mabel Hendricks of Rogers,
Arkansas ;one brother-in-law, Ray Stuckey of Norman, Oklahoma. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren,
sixteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one grandchild, one great-grandchild five sisters and four brothers.
Funeral services for Vernie Davis are scheduled for Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at the Missionary
Baptist Church in Warren, Oklahoma with Rev. Kenneth Lyles officiating. Interment will follow at the Warren
Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
DAVIS
William (Bill) Russell Davis, age 85 of Altus, passed away on Monday evening, December 4, 2006, at English Village
Manor in Altus.
Bill was born on June 13, 1921, to William Ruben and Amy Damie (Cannon) Davis at Jamestown, North Dakota. The
youngest of three children, the family moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma shortly after his birth and later to Oklahoma City
where Bill went to junior and senior high school. While in high school, Bill met Gladys Richardson and they married on
January 17, 1941, after graduating from Capital Hill High School in 1940. A veteran of the United States Army, Bill
served his country during World War II. Entering the ministry a short time later, Bill served in several capacities before
moving his family to Altus in January of 1958, to pastor the Emmanuel Baptist Church. For the next thirty and one-half
years, Bill faithfully served Emmanuel as its pastor with Gladys at his side. Even during his retirement, Bill continued to
serve churches in the area as he was needed. On June 9, 1997, Bill lost the love of his life when Gladys passed away
after fifty-six years of a wonderful marriage. Fishing, golfing and playing dominoes were some of his favorite pastimes,
but spending time with his friends, family and church members were the best times of his life.
Preceded in death by his mother, his wife, one brother, Oral Davis and a sister, Thelma Anderson, Bill is survived by
three children, Barbara Greenawalt and husband Duane of Goshen, Indiana, Deannice Hughes and husband Eldon of
Altus and Dale Davis and wife Carolyn of Yukon; one niece, Doris Jean Sikes of Farmington, New Mexico; six
grandchildren, Michael Greenawalt of Millersburg, Indiana, Melissa Tegel of Vista, California, Sheri Lyn Shores and
husband Kenny of Bristow, Oklahoma, Crystal Bilyeu and husband Scott of Altus, Trey Vorbornik of Yukon and Jesse
Vorbornik of Yukon; eight great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild along with many friends.
Funeral services for William (Bill) Russell Davis will be Friday, December 8, 2006, at 10 a.m. at the Emmanuel Baptist
Church with Rev. Ralph Chapman, Rev. Boyd Whitehead and Rev. Dean Goodfellow officiating. Interment will follow
at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.

Wilson Davis
Wilson Davis, age 78 of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Monday, October 23, 2006 at Jackson County Memorial
Hospital.
He was born July 5, 1928 in Earlsboro, Texas to Sherman Davis and Wilella (Briscoe) Davis. Wilson had lived in
the Altus community for the last twenty years.
He is survived by one brother Nathaniel Davis and wife Lorene of Stockton, California; one sister-in-law Ruby Lee
Davis of Altus, Oklahoma. Wilson is also survived by a several of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents; two brothers, Ralph Davis and Sherman Davis, and two
infant brothers.
Graveside services for Wilson Davis are scheduled for Saturday, October 28, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at the Altus City
Cemetery with Elder Dewayne Jones officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Wanda L. Davison
Wanda L. Davison, age 68 of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at Jackson County
Memorial Hospital.
She was born November 4, 1935 in Woonsocket, South Dakota to Andy Anderson and
Bertha(Tipton)Anderson.
Wanda was a previous member of the Eastern Star of the Altus Chapter. She enjoyed bowling, loved to travel
and go camping. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Wanda attended the Methodist church.
She is lovingly survived by her husband William Davison of the home in Altus, Oklahoma, her mother, Bertha
Jones of Altus, Oklahoma. two sons, William C. Davison and wife Iris of Altus, Oklahoma, Wayne Davison and
wife Chong Suk Davison of Huntsville, Alabama. Wanda is also survived by two sisters, Sharon Vauhn and husband
Waylan of South Dakota, Ruby Patterson of San Antonio, Texas, one brother Leroy Jones of California, one
grandson, Benjamin Davison of Stillwater, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her father and one grandson, Jimmie Davison.
Memorial Service will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral
Home.
Davison
William Davison, 74, a longtime resident of Altus, passed away Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at his home in Altus.
William was born in Hempfield, Penn., on April 9, 1934, to James Harvey and Thais Anna (Sager) Davison. He
married Wanda Davison on April 9, 1952, in Custer, S. Dakota, and she passed away in 2004. He later married Ann
Marie Vizzi in 2005 in Altus.
William retired from the U.S. Air Force with an honorable discharge and also worked for the Civil Service as a fire
department trainer. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion and was very active
in the Shriners as a 32nd degree Mason. He enjoyed traveling all across America with his wife Wanda for many years.
He liked collecting antiques, especially ceramics and glass, and was also an avid jogger. He would jog 3 to 5 miles
every day. He loved animals - cats and dogs were his favorites. He would bring dog biscuits on his jogs to give out.
William enjoyed spending time with family and visiting with his grandchildren. He will be missed greatly.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda L. Davison; his parents; three sisters, Sara C. Kolar, Nancy Kravanja,
and infant sister Faye Davison; and two grandchildren, Jimmie L. Davison and Claire DeLume Pilgrim.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Davison of Altus; two sons, Bill Davison and wife Iris of Altus, and Wayne Davison
and wife Chong Suk of Huntsville, Ala.; two stepchildren, Patrick Pilgrim and wife Erica of Dallas, and Joseph Pilgrim
and wife Modesty of Mesquite, Texas; two brothers, Jim Davison and wife Christina of Mount Pleasant, Penn., and
Bob Davison of Mount Pleasant; three sisters, Stella Wood of Mount Pleasant, Thelma Mismas of Ruffsdale, Penn.,
and Sandra Davison of Mount Pleasant; five grandchildren, Benjamin, Kylie, Heaven, JoAnna and Joseph; one
great-grandson, Brandon, and other great-grandchildren; one special niece, Brenda Suter and her husband Jeff of
Ruffsdale; and numerous other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Masonic Rites will be held at Altus City Cemetery at 3 p.m., Friday.
Michael Davitt
Michael Davitt age 61 of Granite, Oklahoma passed away, April 21, 2005, at Elkview General Hospital in Hobart,
Oklahoma.
Mike was born on Sept 30, 1944 to William & Norma Davitt and raised in South Bend, Indiana.
After graduating High School Mike join the United States Air Force
In 1962 and traveled to many different places including Greenland, in that time he met and married Phyllis Roberts of
Granite, Oklahoma, on August 3, 1978 and shared a wonderful marriage of over 20 years. After retiring from the Air
Force, Michael and wife Phyllis moved to Granite, Oklahoma where he spent 10 years working for OSR.
Mike was a well known respectable person who loved his family very much. He will always be remembered as a
young hearted, kind, but firm man who was always there for everyone. Mike was dearly loved by all who knew him
and will never be forgotten.
Mike is survived by his mother, Norma J. Davitt formally of Granite, Oklahoma, one sister, Eileen Fleischman and
husband Eric Fleischman of Port Orchard, Washington, one sister-in-law, Loretta Livingston and husband, Charles
Livingston of Granite, Oklahoma, two step-children, Kathy Applewhaite and husband Errol of San Antonio, Texas,
and Joseph Willis and wife Maria of Tacoma, Washington, one step-grandchild Cindy Ortiz and husband Scott of
Granite, Oklahoma and a bunch of nieces and nephews and several other relatives.
He is preceded in death by his wife Phyllis Marie Davitt and his father, William Davitt.
Graveside service for Michael Davitt will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at 1:00pm at the Granite City
Cemetery with Father Deogratisa Rutaisire, a.j. officiating. Under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
