Mildred Caldwell

Mildred Caldwell, age 93, passed away May 31, 2004 in Harker Heights, Texas. She was born February 23,
1911 in Eldorado, Oklahoma to G.W. and Mae (Randolph) Sikes.
Mildred retired after 25 years of service with Retail Clerks of California and later with her husband, Fred
Caldwell owned and operated Caldwell Rentals in Harker Heights, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Harwell Henderson and Husband, Carter Henderson and Fred
Caldwell; a sister, Melba Jones; one grandson, Mike Henderson and one granddaughter, Cindy Henderson.
She is survived by a son Blane Henderson of Harker, Texas: grandsons, Randy and Ron Henderson, three
great-grand sons, two great granddaughters; two sister, Merdine Hughes, of Altus, Oklahoma, and Verdine
Clark of Del City, Oklahoma, and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held 11:00 am Monday, June 28, 2004 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home

Jose “Joe” Nieves Campos

Jose “Joe” Nieves Campos, age 54 of Altus, passed away October 12, 2003 at Jackson County
Memorial Hospital. Services, under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home, are set for 2:00 P.M.,
Wednesday, October 15, 2003 at the Thomas Street Church of Christ. Hans Oehlert, Billy Norton, Kyle
Wright and Kendall Felton will officiate and interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery.

Joe was born on September 24, 1949 at Edcouch, Texas to parents Nieves and Alberta Campos. In
the 1960’s Joe moved to the Altus area. Joe was united in marriage to Maria “Elva” Sanchez at Altus
on July 19, 1975. They enjoyed many years of marriage. Joe was a member of the Thomas Street
Church of Christ. He coached city league baseball, was a class parent and involved in the schools and
also collected knives and caps. In recent years, he loved watching the Dallas Cowboys and John
Wayne movies. Joe loved talking and making people laugh. Joe also worked at Wal-Mart where he
worked in the Sporting Goods Department.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother. He is survived by his wife, Elva
Campos of the home; one son, Joey Tomas Campos and fiancée, Amber Phillips of Altus; brother,
Jesse Campos of Altus, Oklahoma and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Edythe Canada

Edythe Canada was born June 10, 1921 in Altus, Okla. She was the daughter of the late William Henry and
Ethel Helen (Gossett) Robbins. She died July 21, 2004 in Altus. She married Wilbur Leonard Canada, Dec. 9,
1939 in Altus and he preceded her in death, July 22, 1983. She was a life long resident of Altus and Jackson
County. She was a Baptist, and had worked at Woolworths, Firestone, Lee Office, and R.C. Bottling. Her
hobbies included crossword puzzles, watching television, and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include:

1 Daughter Sue Watson and Hugh Altus
1 Brother Clifford W. (Dub) Robbins San Antonio, Tex

Services for Edythe Canada are scheduled for 10 AM Saturday, July 24, 2004 in the Lowell-Tims Chapel with
Sam Starr officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus Cemetery.

Mavis Canada

Mavis Canada age 73, passed away November 9,2004 at Intergris Baptist Center in Oklahoma City.
She was born to J.O. and Lois (Loper) Canada on October 9,1931 in Altus, Oklahoma.
Mavis took care of her mother and sister.
She is survived by one Nephew, Larry Rosenbaum of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, two great nieces, Tracie
Rosenbaum and Dea Rosenbaum both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and one great nephew Ronnie
Rosenbaum of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Mavis is preceded in death by her Parents, Sister Nadine Ruth Rosenbaum, one nephew Ronnie Rosenbaum.
Graveside service will be held Friday, November 12, 2004 at 3:00 pm at the Altus City Cemetery. Under the
direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Antonio Guadalupe Carrasco Jr

Antonio Guadalupe Carrasco Jr., age 63 of Altus, passed away October 9, 2003 at Integris Baptist
Hospital in Oklahoma City. Services under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus, are set
for 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph
Arledge will officiate and interment will follow with full military honors at 2:00 P.M. at the Fort Sill
National Cemetery in Elgin. The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Monday evening from
5:00 to 7:00 P.M. A Rosary service will follow at Prince of Peace Catholic Church on Monday evening
at 7:30 P.M.

Tony was born December 29, 1939 at San Antonio, Texas to parents Guadalupe Antonio Carrasco
Sr. and Ignacia Pena Carrasco. Tony grew up in San Antonio and joined the United States Air Force
at age 17. While in the Air Force he obtained his GED and a Masters Degree in Business
Administration. In the Air Force, Tony worked in communications and served for 27 years, before
retiring in 1984. He was also retired from the Department of Rehabilitation Services of the State of
Oklahoma. He served four tours in Vietnam, and was very proud of his military service. Tony was
active in the G.I. Forum, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Disabled American Veterans, and the
Knights of Columbus. He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Altus and enjoyed
fishing, working in the yard and wood work.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Kelly of Altus; children, Mark
Anthony Carrasco of Topeka, Kansas, Sylvia Ann Oulela of San Antonio, Texas and Samantha
McDonald of Altus; grandchildren, Christopher Luke Carrasco, Jacob Michael Timm, Jordan Oulela,
Jenna Oulela, Daniel Oulela, Orlando McDonald; sisters, Felisitas Bueno, Petra Perez, and Ann Bright
all of San Antonio, Texas and a host of other relatives and friends.

Carole Anne Carter

Carole Anne Carter was born May 31,1954 in San Antonio, Texas. She was the daughter of the late
Donald and Mabel (Kester) Burke. She died Dec. 15, 2003 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Carole graduated from High School in Rantoal, Illinois in 1972. She married Kenneth Carter, June 19,
1972 in Morris, Okla. Carole loved animals, music, gardening, cooking holiday meals, and her family.
Survivors include
Husband Kenneth Carter Duke, Okla.
1 Daughter Jeanne Herring & Jud Altus Okla.
2 Sons Donald Carter & Jennifer Lawton, Okla.
Kenneth Carter Jr. & Leslie Kinley, N Carolina
1 Twin Sister Janice Houtz &Gary Rapid City, S Dak.
7 Grandchildren 1 Granddog, and a host of loving pets and friends

Mary Victoria Chennault

Mary V. Chennault age 89 passed away Friday, May 14, 2004 at Baptist Retirement Center in Oklahoma City.
She was born to Henry Green Jones and Mary Catherine (Hayes) in Altus Oklahoma.
Mary was a graduate of Ozark High School and attended Altus Junior College. She married John Edward
Chennault on Easter Sunday March 28,1937.
Mary was a home maker and enjoyed having friends and relatives in her home, she was a member of The First
Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents, one brother; Amel Jones, six sisters; Mae Jones, Marva
Ree Niles, Alberta Jones, Feddie Lee Payne, Myrna Holdridge, and Bobbie Hamilton.
Mary is loving survived by her two sons; Rev. Henry Lee Chennault and wife Maxine of Aiken, South Carolina and
Rev. John Victor Chennault and wife Judy of El Reno, Oklahoma, four grand children; Mark Chennault and wife
Beverly of Las Vegas, Nevada, Mike Chennault and wife Becky of Aiken, South Carolina, Kristi Chennault of Tulsa
and Misti Cussen and husband Kyle of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and 9 great grand children.
Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at 10:00am at the Altus City Cemetery. Arrangements
are with Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
The family of Mary Victoria Chennault will greet friends, Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home
from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.

Wilton “Ray” Churchwell

Wilton “Ray” Churchwell, age 75 of Blair, passed away July 4, 2003 at Integris Baptist Hospital in
Oklahoma City. Services have been set for 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at the Lowell-Tims
Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverends Randy Mitchell and Gene Foreman will officiate and interment
will follow at the Altus City Cemetery.
Ray was born November 15, 1927 at Altus, Oklahoma to parents Jesse Raymond Churchwell and
Velma Elsie Brisbin Churchwell. Ray entered the United States Army in 1947 and served in Panama
and at Fort Sam Houston during the Korean Conflict. On October 8, 1950 he was united in marriage to
Bette Marguerite Davis at the First Baptist Church in Altus. In 1951 Ray was honorably discharged from
the Army and began working as a carpenter. He was well known throughout Southwest Oklahoma as a
talented carpenter and general contractor. Ray was active in the American Legion and was a skilled
gardener and cook. He also enjoyed fishing on the North Fork and bee keeping.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents. His is survived by his wife Bette of the home; two sons,
Randy and wife Mary of Joshua, Texas and David and wife Caren of Ringling, Oklahoma; three
Brothers, Richard Churchwell of Altus, Omar Churchwell of Oklahoma City, Wesley Churchwell and wife
Hermalee of Midwest City, Oklahoma; two sisters, Colene Booker and husband D.L. of Connell,
Washington and Karen Kistler and husband Bob of Tacoma, Washington; brother in law, Jim Davis of
Tuscon, Arizona; sisters in law, Vinita Davis of Altus and Wilma Jo Miner of Tulsa; grandchildren,
Darlene Smith, Wesley Jackson, Veronica Garcia, Davis John Bohlander, Leah Churchwell, Daniel
Bohlander, Logan Churchwell, three great grandchildren, Jonathan Garcia, Amanda Jackson, Lynn Holly
Jackson and many other relatives and friends.
