BEAVER, Okla. -- Willy Lopez Barria, 17, died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005, in Beaver County, Okla.
He was born to Wilfrido Fermin Lopez and Jubencia Lopez Barria in Bellflower, Calif.
He was a senior at Beaver High School.
He was involved in running track and in Quiz Bowl.
He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Booker, Texas.
He is survived by his parents, Beaver; two sisters, Cynthia Barria and Irene Barria, Beaver; his grandparents, Wilfrido and Ofelia Lopez and Justina Baranda; uncles and aunts, cousins and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather.
Funeral services
will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Beaver Field House with Torrey Curtis presiding and Jim Sutherland assisting.
Mass services will be at 11 a.m. in the United Methodist Church of Beaver with Msgr. Joe Bixenman presiding.
Burial will be at Chihuahua, Mexico.
TOVA J. DURFEY
BEAVER, Okla. -- Tova JoDee Durfey, 17, died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005, in Beaver County, Okla.
She was born to David Walter Balconi and Tammie Durfey in Tucson, Ariz.
She was a senior at Beaver High School.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
She was involved in the Beaver FFA, the National Honor Society and CMSA.
She is survived by her mother, Beaver; her father and wife, Donna; two half-brothers, Joshua and Matthew; one half-sister, Tianna; grandparents, Hank and Patty Balconi and Connie Burrows; uncles and aunts, cousins and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services
will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Beaver Field House with Torrey Curtis presiding and Jim Sutherland assisting.
Burial will be at Kiowa Cemetery.
FLORENCE L. SORTER
BEAVER, Okla. -- Florence Laverne Sorter, 82, died Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005, at Beaver County Nursing Home in Beaver, Okla.
She was born Aug. 29, 1923, to Pearl (Drake) and Peter Roth in Huntersville, Minn.
She married Frank Sorter June 12, 1944, in Hooker, Okla.
He preceded her in death.
She attended a country school.
She was a farmer's wife and a homemaker.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Forgan, Okla.
She is survived by three sons, Jerry Sorter, Larry Sorter and Terry Sorter, all of Forgan; one daughter, Joanne Price, Forgan; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Grace Stephens, Porter, Texas, and Ester Holzrichter, Guymon, Okla.; and many nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services
will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Forgan First Christian Church with Dennis R. Woods and Bobby Gainer presiding.
Burial will be at Forgan Cemetery.
JUDY HELMICK
TYRONE, Okla. -- Judy Helmick, 60, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005, at her residence in Tyrone, Okla.
Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced by Miller Mortuary.
ABIGAIL D. BURNS
TURPIN, Okla. -- Abigail D. Burns, 94, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, at Southwest Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 30, 1910, to Frank and Winifred Begley Sweigart in Wellington.
She married Edward P. Fuller April 28, 1927, in Perryton, Texas.
He died Feb. 12, 1962.
She then married Charles Burns in 1968 in Liberal.
He died Oct. 16, 2002.
She was a mother and homemaker.
Survivors include one son, John Fuller, Cushing, Okla.; four daughters, Natalie Phelps, Colorado Springs, Colo., Clara Cowan, Sedan, N.M., Clara Means, Balko, Okla., and Dee Smotherman, Turpin, Okla.; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister, one son, one granddaughter and one great-grandson.
Funeral services
will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Balko Baptist Church in Balko, Okla., with Wade Tannehill presiding.
Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery in Balko, Okla.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Miller Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to Cal Farleys Boys Ranch and Girls Town or to the High Plains Childrens Home in care of the mortuary.
DOROTHY I. KYGAR
BEAVER, Okla. -- Dorothy Irene Kygar, 86, died Feb. 11, 2005, in Dumas, Texas.
She was born Feb. 22, 1918, to A.G. and Sara Brooks in Fentress County, Tenn.
She married A. Clint Kygar May 20, 1936, in Bentonville, Ark.
He died in 1978.
She was a cook in the restaurant business.
She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include five sons, Ned Kygar, Beaver, Okla., Ronnie Kygar, Edmond, Okla., Rocky Kygar, Dallas, Ore., Judd Kygar, Dumas, Texas, and Roy Kygar, Dumas, Texas; four daughters, Montray Ann Mercer, McAllen, Texas, Beatrice Heinsohn, Dumas, Texas, Linda Dumler, Russell, and Carolyn Feltner, Dumas, Texas; 32 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Billy Brooks, Dallas, Ore.; two sisters, Alice and Christina, Sun City, Ariz.; and many relatives and friends.
Funeral services
will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Beaver Baptist Church with Jim Parker and Oscar Ragan presiding.
Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery in Beaver, Okla.

Anita Harbison, 66, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, at Integris Canadian Regional Medical Center in Yukon, Okla.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Western Avenue Church of Christ in Liberal.
Graveside service will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Sunnyside Cemetery in Vici, Okla.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday with family present to receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home in Liberal.
