ARLEAN M.F. HAMM
Arlean Maggie Flaming Hamm was born on December 27, 1937, at Corn, Oklahoma, to HBR and Maggie Flaming.
She was the eleventh of twelve children.
She passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on January 23, 2005 in Dallas, Texas, at the age of sixty-seven.
She attended high school at Corn Bible Academy, Corn, Oklahoma, where she met Leonard "Bud" Hamm.
Bud and Arlean were united in marriage on November 30, 1956, at the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church.
Bud and Arlean spent the greater part of their married life in Liberal, Kansas, where for 36 years they owned and managed Bud Hamm Insurance and Real Estate, Inc.
They moved from Liberal to Allen, Texas in 1995, where most recently, Arlean worked as a sales associate with Huntington Homes in the Dallas area.
Arlean was known for her hospitality, always happy to add another plate to the dinner table.
She had an infectious laugh, usually accompanied by tears falling down her cheeks when she became particularly amused.
She was a gifted peacemaker, being a patient, loving woman who brought out the best in people.
She was an active member of the Prestonwood Baptist Church in the Dallas area, and was dedicated to serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Bud; sons, Delano Kent Hamm and his wife, Karen, of Mohegan Lake, New York, and Kevin Don Hamm and his wife, Teri, of Sacramento, California; grandchildren, Kerri Lynn, Andrew, Brittani and Christian Hamm; three brothers, Rev. John Flaming of Corn, Oklahoma, Vern Flaming of Clinton, Oklahoma, Leonard ěLenî Flaming of Artisia, New Mexico; and one sister, Mable Thiessen of Fairview, Oklahoma; and a host of additional relatives and friends.
Preceding her were her parents, four brothers, Ed, Roy, Allen and Gene Flaming, and three sisters, Pearl Friesen, Doris Karber and Mary Ann Reimer.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2005 at Prestonwood Baptist Church, Chapel, Plano, Texas.
The family request that those who wish to honor Arleanís memory with a memorial gift make a donation in her name to Great Plains Christian Radio, P.O. Box 991, Meade, Kansas 67864, in lieu of flowers.

BOBBY J. McGRIFF
GROVE, Okla. -- Bobby J. McGriff, 75, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, at his residence in Grove, Okla.
He was born April 6, 1929, to Charles L. and Irma (Burks) McGriff in McGehee, Ark.
He married Catharine Jamieson in 1953 in Chatham, Ontario, Canada.
She survives.
He graduated from high school in Lake Village, Ark.
He worked as an oil and gas consultant before his retirement in 1993.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954 obtaining the rank of staff sergeant.
Other survivors include one son, Robert McGriff, Los Gatos, Calif.; one daughter, Susan Kearney, Olathe; one grandson, Andrew Kearney; and one granddaughter, Brenna Kearney.
Memorial services are pending at Grace Presbyterian Church.

FRANCES C. SHEPARD
BOISE CITY, Okla. -- Frances Christine (Marquez) Aguilar Shepard, 62, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, in Elkhart.
She was born April 24, 1942, to Pedro Marquez and Frances (Duran) Marquez in Des Moines, N.M.
She attended school in Des Moines, N.M.
She married Tomas Aguilar.
Survivors include her mother; five daughters, Rose Marie Armas, Elkhart, Rose Ann Hiner, Satanta, Mary Louise Aguilar, Satanta, Veronica Tracy Fernandez, Elkhart, and Tammie Aguilar, Elkhart; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Pete Marquez, Albuquerque, N.M., and David Marquez, Elkhart; three sisters, Beatrice Hall, Oklahoma City, Ruth Williams, Oklahoma City, and Cora Aguilar, Albuquerque, N.M.; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, two sisters, Elsie Blan and Veronica Mae Salinas, and two grandchildren, Joshua Lee Aguilar and Adriana Sherie Rosas.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Boise City, Okla., with Mark and Gail Smith presiding.
Burial will be in the Boise City Cemetery.

MAYME SHAFFER
GUYMON, Okla. -- Mayme Shaffer, 90, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at Dunaway Manor.
She was born April 1, 1914, to Mary Marie (Trimpa) and Merritt Ross Stewart in Liberal.
She married Roger Y. Shaffer May 16, 1935, in Gentry, Benton County, Arkansas.
She was an educator, teaching in the Wilburton schools, Unity, Goodwell and Guymon, Okla., schools.
She was a member of the Victory Center.
Survivors include two sons, T. Gene Shaffer and wife Melva Jean Guymon, Okla., and Philip C. Shaffer and wife Sue, Amarillo, Texas; one daughter, Susan L. and husband F. Steve Crouse, Rose Hill; three granddaughters, Gayle L. and husband John Patterson, Alvin, Texas, Rebecca L. and husband Brett Perrymore and Marie E. and husband Heath Vanarsdale, all of Wichita; four great grandsons, Nathan David Shaffer, Ralley John Patterson, Richard Michael Van Arsdale and Ronald Steven Perrymore; three brothers, Estel K. Stewart and wife Martha, Hastings, Neb., Jamie B. Stewart and wife Gudren, Melbourne, Fla.; and Ross M. Stewart and wife Doris, Pittsburgh; and one sister, Nina K. Welch, Huntington Beach, Calif.
She had also been blessed with the special care of caregivers Madeline Cooper, Mary Daniels and Tamara Martinez, all of Guymon, Okla.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, Jeffrey G. Shaffer, one great grandson, Stephen B. Shaffer, one sister, Frances Perdue Tyndal and one brother, William Allen Stewart.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Henson-Novak Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Charles Mendenhall of Victory Center presiding.
Burial will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Henson-Novak Funeral Home.

WILLIE M. HAZZARD
TYRONE, Okla. -- Willie M. Hazzard, 77, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at Southwest Medical Center.
Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced by Miller Mortuary.
LEO WINTERS
OKLAHOMA CITY -- Leo Winters, 82, died Saturday March 5, 2005, in Oklahoma City.
He was born Nov. 7, 1922, to David and Gertrude (Stroschein) Winter in Hooker, Okla.
He attended Panhandle State University and the University of Oklahoma School of Law, where he earned his law degree in 1957.
He joined the Army Air Corps and flew a B-17 in Africa and the Mediterranean during World War II.
He was stationed in Alaska after the war.
He was a former Secretary of the Oklahoma State Election Board, former Oklahoma State Treasurer and former lieutenant governor.
He was also active in the horse industry.
He was elected to the Oklahoma Hall of Fame and recieved an Honorary Doctorate of Law from the New England School of Law in Boston.
Survivors include one son, John Justin Winters, Oklahoma City; two daughters, Juliana M. Winters, Atlanta, and Lisa Maria Winters, Oklahoma City; one step-daughter, Stephanie Gallad, Indianapolis; one granddaughter, Jenny Kathryn Winters, Oklahoma City; five sisters, Mary Spencer, Selma Witzke, Martha Witzke, all of Oklahoma City, Vera Ruth, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Anita Uphaus, Georgetown, Texas; eight nieces and nephews and 22 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Wesminster Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City.
Inurnment will be in the Hooker Cemetery.

M.G. SHAW
M.G. Shaw, 87, died March 31, 2005, at Memorial Hospital of Texas County in Guymon, Okla.
He was born Oct. 6, 1917, to Luther and Bertha Lewis Shaw in Baker, Okla.
He attended school in Baker, graduating from Eureka High School.
He married Ethelyn Grounds Aug. 17, 1940, in Guymon, Okla.
She survives.
He was a farmer.
Other survivors include one son, Gerald A. Shaw, Amarillo, Texas; one daughter, Katherine "Kathy" Pierce and husband Tom, Guymon, Okla.; three grandchildren, Michael Pierce and wife Dana, Oklahoma City, Pamela Dougherty and husband Kevin, Miami, Texas, and Robert Pierce, Liberal; five great-grandchildren, Mykah Pierce, Desiree Pierce, Rachelle Graue, Samantha Graue and Jarrett Dougherty; two sisters-in-law; and many relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Hooker Cemetery with Jim Maynard presiding.
Burial will be in Hooker Cemetery.
