MICHELE D. FULLER
TURPIN, Okla. -- Michele D. Fuller, 43, died Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at her residence in Turpin, Okla.
She was born June 20, 1960, in Chickasha, Okla., to Tim and Sue Holman Watson.
She married Randy D. Fuller, Aug. 22, 1992, in Red River, N.M. He survives.
She came to Liberal in 1970 and attended the Liberal Schools.
She moved to the Turpin community in 1991 and operated a home day care center for many years.
Other survivors include one son, Aaron Harvey and wife Lynettee, Liberal; three daughters, Kerri Farris and husband, Brad, Broken Arrow, Okla., and Jennifer and Anne Harvey, Liberal; her mother, Sue Watson, Liberal; four grandchildren; one brother, Michael Watson and wife, Sandra, Wichita; and two sisters, Kathy Anderson, Edmond, Okla., and Debra Wighs and husband Terry, Salina.
She was preceded in death by her father, one sister, Karen Sue Watson, and grandparents L.B. and Ruth Holman and Edith Watson.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, at the Western Avenue Church of Christ with Wade Tannehill presiding.
Burial will be in the Liberal Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. today and 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday at Miller Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to the Cancer Relay Race for Life in care of Miller Mortuary.
CARL H. OWENS
BEAVER, Okla. -- Carl Henry Owens, 93, died Thursday, May 27, 2004, in the Beaver County Nursing Home.
He was born Oct. 22, 1910, to Arthur and Elnora (Ogden) Owens in Shattuck, Okla.
He graduated from Spearman, Texas High School.
He owned and operated a clothing store in Beaver.
He was a member of the Beaver United Methodist Church for more than 60 years.
He was a Veteran of the United Stated Army and served in World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia, Beaver; one son, Larry Owens, Coronado, Calif.; two daughters, Patricia Alley, Edmonds, Wash. and Joyce Ritter, Eufaula, Okla.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren; one sister, Eula Gassner, Amarillo, Texas; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the United Methodist Church, Beaver, with Torrie Curtis and Jim Parker officiating.
Burial will be in the Pioneer Cemetery.
DONALD L. HARMON
BEAVER, Okla. -- Donald Leonard Harmon, 76, died June 2, 2004, at the Beaver County Memorial Hospital.
He was born Dec. 20, 1927, to Leonard Leroy and Ethel Loraine (Waugh) Harmon.
He married Geneva Casey Aug. 9, 1947, in Buffalo, Okla. She survives.
He owned the Beaver County Stockyards for 11 years, and he was also a farmer at retirement.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Other survivors include one son, Steve Harmon, Beaver, Okla.; one daughter Rita Sue Richardson, Delray Beach, Fla.; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Bill Harmon, Buffalo, Okla., and Pete Harmon, Fairview, Okla.; three sisters, Wanda Lee Johnson, Woodward, Okla., Leona Mae Kirkhart, Laverne, Okla., and Margie Lou Falkner, Shawnee, Okla.; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday in the Beaver United Methodist Church with Read Barby and Torrey Curtis presiding.
Burial will be in the Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Clark-Williamson Funeral Service, Beaver, Okla.
MARY A. GILL
Mary A. Gill, 81, of Hooker, Okla. passed away June 3, 2004 at Odyssey Hospice in Amarillo, Texas.
Mary Alice Brauchi was born Nov. 10, 1922, in Amarillo, Texas, the daughter of Adolph Gifford and Mary Pearl Baker Brauchi. She attended school in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School. She attended nursing school at St. Anthony's Hospital School of Nursing.
On June 19, 1944, at Ft. Bragg, Fayetteville, N.C., Mary was united in marriage to Harold Dee Gill. Harold served in WWII and Mary worked as an RN at St. Anthony's Hospital. After Harold returned from the war they made their home in Hooker, Okla. She worked as a private duty nurse in Hooker and after her children entered junior high age she worked full time at Epworth Hospital and later Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
Mary was an accomplished pianist, a devoted homemaker and mother. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Those preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, Harold, December 27, 1972, and two brothers, Garwood and Elwood.
Survivors include three sons, Dee and his wife Susan Gill of Amarillo, Texas, Mike and his wife Marilyn Gill of Amarillo, Ken and his wife Rhonda Gill of Plano, Texas; one daughter, Debbie and her husband Greg Kubin of Moscow; two brothers, Dale Brauchi and his wife Billie of Amarillo and Victor Brauchi and his wife Doris of Amarillo; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2004 at the Hooker Cemetery in Hooker, Okla. with Pastor Larry Bradford of the First Baptist Church in Moscow.
Arrangements directed by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker.
Memorials may be given to the Mary A. Gill Scholarship Fund at the Seward County Community College School of Nursing in Liberal and may be left at the Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. Box 745, Hooker, Okla. 73945.
CECIL I. COOK, JR.
BEAVER, Okla. -- Cecil Irven Cook, Jr., 81, died June 4, 2004, in the Beaver County Nursing Home.
He was born Aug. 11, 1922, in Logan, Okla., to Cecil Irven and Anna Mae (Ford) Cook, Sr.
He married Christine Crouse in Seattle, Wash. She preceeded him in death.
He graduated from Beaver High School in 1939.
He was a member of the United States Navy and served there for 30 years.
Survivors include one grandchild; one great grandchild; four brothers, Morris Dewey Cook of Beaver, Okla.; Roy Cook, Amarillo, Texas, Donald Cook, Mt. Vernon, Mo., and Melvin K. Cook, Crawford, Ga.; and one sister, Wava Laine Bowdle, Kyle, Texas.
He was preceeded in death by his son.
Graveside funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday in the Beaver Pioneer Cemetery with Jim Maynard presiding.
Burial services will be in the Beaver Pioneer Cemetery.
GEORGE A. BUECHNER
BALKO, Okla. -- George Ambrose Buechner, 96, died Friday, June 11, 2004, in the Beaver County Nursing Home.
He was born Feb. 12, 1908, to John Ambrose and Mary Catharina (Blanke) Buechner.
He married Georgia Anna Cramer, Dec. 10, 1931, in Guymon, Okla. She died Oct. 3, 1996.
He graduated from high school and attended two years of college.
He was a farmer and rancher in Beaver County.
He was a member of the Apostolic Faith Church for more than 40 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Edna Mae Zimmerman, Huntsville, Ala., and Karen Sue McNerlin, Argonia; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Virgil Eugene Buechner, Beaver, Okla.; and many relatives and friends.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m., Monday, in the Balko Apostolic Faith Church with Fred Huff presiding.
Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
SCOTT V. DEBURGH
BEAVER, Okla. Lester Scott Van Deburgh, 68, died June 11, 2004, in Wichita.
He was born to Irvin Lester and Lois Doreen (McCoy) Van Deburgh Sept. 12, 1935, in Beaver, Okla.
He married Jane Reiswig Aug. 20, 1955, in Beaver, Okla. She preceded him in death.
He graduated from Beaver High School.
He was a farmer and rancher in Beaver County all his life.
He was a member of Beaver Christian Church for more than 50 years.
Survivors include three sons, Steve Van Deburgh, Balko, Okla., Craig Van Deburgh, Medford, Okla., and Douglas Van Deburgh, Oak Harbour, Wash.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Dewey Don Van Deburgh, Ponca City, Okla.; one sister, Emma Lou Lightfoot, Alva, Okla.; and many relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, at Beaver United Methodist Church with Rick Main and Chuck Lightfoot presiding.
Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Clark Funeral Services, Beaver, Okla.
ROGER W. SPAULDING
TYRONE, Okla. -- Roger W. Spaulding, 78, died Tuesday, June 15, 2004, in Tyrone, Okla.
He was born June 30, 1925, in Chicago, Ill.
He married Jackie L. Pierce Oct. 1, 1974, in Oracle, Okla. She survives.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Corps.
Upon returning from the service, he began a long career in road construction. He worked in Michigan and Illinois, moving to Liberal in 1983, when he went to work for Pope Construction in Ulysses for 14 years and the J and R Sand Company, Liberal, for the past six years as a superintendent.
He was a member of the American Legion, Hooker, Okla.
He was an avid sports fan.
Other survivors include three sons, Keelan Spaulding and wife Lisa, Thompson, Texas, Brandon Spaulding and wife Jennifer, Midland, Texas, and Mike Spaulding, Liberal; two step-sons, Dennis Hudson, Konawa, Okla., and Calvin Hudson, Huntsville, Texas; one step-daughter, Cheryl Haley, Amarillo, Texas; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
Memorial services will be announced later by Miller Mortuary.
