WENNONA SLATTEN
TYRONE, Okla. -- Wennona Slatten,84, died Monday, January 5, 2003, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
She was born March 2, 1919, to Henry H. and Vinny M. Cassidy Lubbers in Lorena, Okla.
She married Frank L. Slatten Aug. 8, 1940 in Turpin, Okla. He died May 3, 1933.
She graduated from Turpin High School in 1937.
She moved to Tyrone in 1956.
She operated the Sale Barn Cafe for 15 years. She also operated the Ideal bakery and was a cook at the High Plains Petroleum Club for 01 years. She was a caretaker of children and the elderly.
She was a member of the Tyrone United Methodist Church in Tyrone, Okla.
She is survived by three sons, Herman Slatten and wife, Jonnie, Tyrone, Okla., Truman Slatten and wife, Donna, Collins, Mo., Robert Slatten and wife Louella, Lafors, Texas; one daughter, Sandra Painter and husband, Earl, Pauls Valley, Okla.; one brother, Daryll Lubbers, Cheney; one sister, Mabel Foster, Turpin, Okla; 15 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents,one son, Kenneth Slatten, one brother, one sister, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services
will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Miller Chapel with the Reverend Rick Trobaugh presiding.
Burial will be at the Tyrone Cemetery in Tyrone.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until service time Thursday.

LLOYD GODFREY
HOOKER, Okla. -- Lloyd Godfrey, 63, Baker, Okla. died Jan. 7, 2004, at his home.
He was born Aug. 25, 1943, to John Raymond and Loy Sapp Godfrey in Beaver, Okla.
He married Dorothy Ellis June 30, 1960, in Clayton, N.M. She died March 6, 1996.
He then married Sharon Kay Vardiman Ellis Dec. 1, 1996, in Topeka. She died April 4, 2002.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator working for 26 years for Harley Kruse at Kruse Dirt Construction in Liberal.
His hobbies included fishing and speaking to people on his CB.
Survivors include one son, Robert Godfrey, Hooker; three daughters, Peggy Williams, Dairyland, Wis., Stacy Higgins, Rawlins, Wyo., and Becky Eure, Tyrone, Okla.; his mother, Marietta, Ga.; one step-son, Danny Ellis, Florence; two step-daughters, Brenda Corbin, Augusta, and Cindy Ellis, Austin, Texas; one sister, Ardis Lee Godfrey, Anaheim, Calif.; nine grandchildren; six step grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services
were at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Christ in Hooker with Neville Buchanan presiding.
Burial will be at Tyrone Cemetery in Tyrone directed by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. in Hooker.
LOYAL F. HAMM
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- Loyal F. Hamm, 90, died Jan. 2, 2004, in Oklahoma City.
He was born Feb. 19, 1913, to Charles Chester and Lula Stalcup Hamm.
He married Nellie I. Marshall Sept. 20, 1935, in Liberal. She died Dec. 7, 2001.
He attended school at Preston and came to Liberal in 1927. He worked as an auto mechanic for several years. He began a long career in auto parts sales at Hood Chevrolet and Stu Emmert's Chevrolet for more than 50 years and three years at Rose Pontiac before retiring at age 78.
He was a member of the Church of Christ in Liberal where he was a song leader for 60 years. He was a member of Southwest Church in Christ in Oklahoma City and volunteered at Caregiver Solutions Adult Daycare Center in Oklahoma City.
Survivors include four sons, Rodney Hamm, Oklahoma City, Darrel Hamm and wife, Barbara, Great Mills, Md, Jim and Terry Hamm both of Liberal; one daughter, Marilyn Storm, Oklahoma City; four grandsons, Timothy and Nicholas Hamm, Shawn Storm, Phillip Hamm; two great-grandsons, Damien Hamm and Devin Robinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; Morris and Ernest Hamm; two sisters, Lena Winters and Clara Fagerquist, one granddaughter, Cortney Hamm.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Western Avenue Church of Christ in Liberal with the Minister Wade Tannehill presiding.
Burial will be at the Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorials are suggested in lieu of flowers to the Loyal Hamm Memorial Fund at Southwest Church of Christ at 3031 SW 104th, Oklahoma City, OK 73159.
Miller Mortuary is in charge of local arrangements.
HENRY E. HODGES
HOOKER, Okla. -- Henry Hodges, 83, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004, at his home in Hooker.
Graveside services
will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Hooker Cemetery with the Brother Eddy Scoggins of the First Baptist Church in Hooker and Neville Buchanan of the Church of Christ in Hooker presiding.
Roberts Brothers Funeral Home Inc. in Hooker is in charge of arrangements.
GEORGIA BRADLEY
BEAVER, Okla. -- Georgia Bradley, 88, died Thursday January 15, 2004, at Beaver County Nursing Home.
She was born December 11, 1915, to George Alvin and Lou Vena (Jones) Reinmuth in Beaver County, Okla.
She married W. Roy Ragsdale in Clayton, N.M. in 1939. He died. She then married H.E. Bradley in Beaver, Okla. April 20, 1963. He died March 20, 1990.
She graduated from Beaver High School in 1933 and completed two years of college.
She was a dry clothes cleaner.
She was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Beaver Pioneer Park Association.
She is survived by her daughter, Jacque Broadfoot, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many relatives and friends.
Graveside Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m., Monday at the Pioneer Cemetery with Wayne Moore presiding.
PRYCIE PIERPONT MYERS
Beaver, Okla. -- Pyrcie Pierpont Myers, 99, died Tuesday January 20, 2004 at Beaver County Memorial Hospital.
She was born Dec. 17, 1912, to Leslie Travis and Versa Dee (Hill) Adelman.
She married Floyd Myers Feb. 16, 1942 in Liberal. He died Oct. 17, 1990.
She graduated from high school and attended college and Panhandle A&M, Goodwell, Okla.
She was a member of the Balko Sunflowers and Rebekahs.
She is survived by one son, Travis Boston, Elmwood, Okla.; one daughter, Mae Dee Durbink, Grove, Okla.; one brother, James Keith Adelman, Creed, Colo.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services
are at 2 p.m., at the Beaver First Christian Church with the Bob Blazek presiding. Burial will be at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Balko, Okla.
LESTER R. "RONNIE" COBLE
DUNCAN, Okla. -- Lester Ronald "Ronnie" Coble, 61, died Sunday January 25, 2004, at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
He was born March 21, 1942, to Fred Grant and Marjorie Elizabeth (Holmes) Coble in Denver, Colo.
He married Virginia M. Gaddis June 26, 1971. She survives.
He was a resident of Effingham for 23 years before moving to Liberal in 1991. He then moved to Duncan, Okla. about a year ago. After graduating from high school he entered the U.S. Army on April 11, 1966, and received his honorable discharge Nov. 22, 1968.
He was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Liberal and American Legion in Atchison.
His hobbies included fishing and and having family fellowship.
Other survivors include two sisters, Carol Jean Benedick and husband, Larry, Duncan, Okla. and Sandie Kay Monnin and husband, Ken, Karnack, Texas; and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Fred Raymond Coble Jr.
Funeral services
will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church in Liberal with the Reverend Andrew Wehling presiding.
Burial will follow at Liberal Cemetery in Liberal. Military honors given by Ft. Riley Honor Guard.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home.
