ALICE M. SHOOK
BEAVER, Okla. -- Alice Marie Shook, 92, died Friday, March 7, 2003, at Beaver County Memorial Hospital in Beaver.
She was born Feb. 12, 1911, in Major County.
She married Vernon Shook on Dec. 22, 1929, in Beaver. He died Sept. 5, 1983.
Survivors include, one son, Sheldon Shook, Amarillo, Texas; three daughters, Jean Phillips, El Reno, Okla., Verna Faye Rodosta, Beaver, and Dolly Barr, Oklahoma City; one brother, Dr. Harold Kachel, Beaver; one sister, Letha Howe, Dodge City; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services
will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Beaver First Christian Church in Beaver with Doug Baty and Phil Rodosta presiding.
Burial will be at Pioneer Cemetery in Beaver.
J.J. NIELSEN
LAVERNE, Okla. -- J.J. "Lefty" Nielsen, 66, died Sunday, March 9, 2003, at his residence in Laverne.
He was born June 21, 1936, to James and Selma (Vanfleet) Nielsen in Laverne.
He married Charlene Rice on Oct. 13, 1973, in Buffalo, Okla. She survives.
He graduated from Laverne High School in 1954.
He was owner/operator of Nielsen Enterprises Trucking Co., and also served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a lifetime resident of Laverne.
Other survivors include, his mother; two daughters, Jacqueline Stand, Cimarron, and Dege Nielsen of Laverne; two brothers, Don Nielsen, Buffalo, and Gary Nielsen, Laverne; three sisters, Carolyn Goebel, Moundridge, Marilyn McDaniel, Apache, Okla., and Jeralyn Hartman, Tulsa, Okla.; three granddaughters; one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1978; one brother, Norman Nielsen; one nephew, Clayton Eugene Nielsen; and one brother-in-law, Tom Hartman.
Funeral services
will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Assembly of God in Laverne with the Rev. Wes Peterman presiding.
Burial with military graveside rites by Laverne/Buffalo American Legion will be at Laverne Memorial Cemetery in Laverne.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today, and from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday at Myatt-Seeger Funeral Home in Laverne.

ELSIE LAMB
GUYMON, Okla. -- Elsie Luella Byrd Blagg Lamb, 78, formerly of Hardesty, Okla., and Gruver, Okla., died Friday, March 14, 2003, at Norwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.
She was born Aug. 8 1924, to Edgar and Edna (Driscoll) Pierson in rural Range, Okla.
She married James Franklin Byrd Aug. 9, 1940 in Reno, Nev. He died Dec. 13, 1944, in France while serving his country.
She married Perry William Blagg Dec. 11, 1945, in Modesto, Calif. He died July 19, 1992.
She married George Keith Lamb Aug. 10, 1996 in Adams, Okla. He survives.
She attended Range Country School.
She moved to Hardesty in 1982, where she had worked for Hardesty City Hall for many years before retiring.
She moved to rural Gruver with George.
Other survivors include one daughter, Betty Rankin, Guymon; one sister, Clarice Gilbert and husband, Lewis, Hardesty; one grandson, Tommy DeWayne Roberson; two great-grandchildren, Tommy Wayne Roberson, and Ballie Dawn Roberson; and numerous step-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Vernon Pierson and Pete Pierson; and one granddaughter, Marianne Mendoza Roberson.
Funeral services
will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Hardesty High School Auditorium in Hardesty with the Rev. Greg Keith presiding.
Burial will be at Range Cemetery in Range.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Hardesty Senior Citizens in care of Henson-Novak Funeral Directors, Box 1306, Guymon, OK 73942.
HERBERT SPRAGUE
BEAVER, Okla. -- Herbert Andrew Nelson Sprague, 100, died Thursday, March 13, 2003, at Beaver County Memorial Hospital.
He was born June 7, 1902, to Herbert Andrew and Minnie Alice (Nelson) Sprague south of Hydro, Okla.
He married Vena Belle Getz Aug. 11, 1927, in Canadian, Texas. She survives.
He attended school, and later became a farmer and rancher in Beaver County.
Other survivors include, two sons, Herb and John Sprague, Beaver; two daughters, Beulah Winchester, Beaver, and Lavona Bell, Weed, N.M.; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous other relatives.
Funeral services
will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Beaver United Methodist Church with John Breon and David Glaseock presiding.
Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Beaver.
Services under the direction of Clark Funeral Service in Beaver.
INA M. JONES
HOOKER, Okla. -- Ina Melissa Jones, 91, died Sunday, March 16, 2003, at Integris-Bass Hospital in Enid, Okla.
She was born Feb. 8, 1913, to John Robert and Ida Mary (Akers) Wilson in Hooker.
She married Edwin Jones in 1933. He died in 1960.
She graduated from Hooker High School in Hooker.
She was a member of the Nazarene Church.
She had been a Hooker resident until she moved to the Living Center in Enid 13 years ago.
Survivors include six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two children, Gerald Jones and Mary Ann Heeke; and 10 brothers and sisters.
Graveside services
will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hooker Cemetery in Hooker with the Brother Ron Mimms presiding.
Arrangements directed by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker.
DEBRA J. KINK
FORGAN, Okla. -- Debra J. Klink, 51, died Thursday, March 20, 2003, in Garden City.
She was born Jan. 4, 1952, to Eugene and Wilma Sherrill in Beaver, Okla.
She graduated from Meade High School in 1970, and graduated from St. Mary's of the Plains College in 1975.
She worked as the blood donor recruiter for the American Red Cross in Dodge City.
She was a member of the Methodist Church, Boot Hill Toastmasters, Great Plains Foundation, and past director of Scott City Chamber of Commerce.
She had been a Scott City resident since 1981.
Survivors include, two sons, Patrick and Andrew, Scott City; her father, Eugene Sherrill and step-mother, Wanita, Beaver; and numerous other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her mother; and one sister, Barbara.
Graveside services
will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Forgan Cemetery with John Breon presiding.
Inurnment will follow under the direction of Clark Funeral Home in Beaver.

LAVON TOWNER
HOOKER, Okla. -- Lavon Towner, 63, died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at Memorial Hospital of Texas County in Guymon, Okla.
She was born Dec. 6, 1939, to David and Ola (Denman) Blalock in Purcell, Okla.
She married Gary Towner in June of 1962, at Cameron University in Lawton, Okla. He survives.
She graduated from Lawton High School, and earned an associate degree at Cameron University in 1961.
She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company until 1968, and later was a homemaker and bookkeeper for the family farm.
Her hobbies included gardening, raising flowers, vegetables and fruit trees.
She was a member and Sunday School teacher at United Methodist Church in Hooker, and was den mother for the cub scouts.
Other survivors include one son, Scot and wife, Karen, Lubbock, Texas; two brothers, James Blalock and wife, Annalee, Pilot Point, Texas, and Larry Blalock, Norco, Calif.; two sisters, Doris McNeil, Lawton, and Sharon Westmoreland and husband, Charlie, Lake Charles, La.; three brother-in-laws, Roy Towner and wife, Marie, Rolla, Don Towner and wife, Mary, Wichita, and Dwain Towner and wife, Adena, Hugoton; one sister-in-law, Eileen Keyser and husband, Bill, Pueblo, Colo.; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services
will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church in Hooker with the Rev. Rick Trobaugh presiding.
Burial will be at Hooker Cemetery in Hooker.
