PATRICIA J. SEWELL
GROVE, Okla. -- Patricia J. Sewell, 56, of Grove, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Okla.
She was born Oct. 14, 1946, to Glen C. and Bonnie (Pinegar) Hall in McPherson.
She married Maurice L. Sewell March 18, 1967. He survives.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Cornerstone Church in Grove, and a past member of Christian Life Center in Liberal.
She was a former resident of Liberal.
Other survivors include, her mother; two sons, Dr. Mark A. Sewell and wife, Regina, Springfield, Ariz., Timothy S. Sewell and wife, Kati, Grove; three sisters, Nada Tuman, Ulysses, Roberta Boyd, Grove, Sudy Schmidt and husband, Paul, Grove; and one grandson, Braegan Andrew Sewell.
Funeral services
will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cornerstone Church in Grove with the Pastor Bill Lay and the Pastor Ken Willard of Liberal presiding.
Graveside services
will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Cambridge Cemetery in Cambridge.
Friends may call from 6-7 p.m. Friday at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.
STEPHEN B. PHILLIPS
MIDWEST CITY, Okla. -- Stephen B. Phillips, 83, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003.
He was born Dec. 1, 1919, to Sidney B. and Pearl Phillips in Aline, Okla.
He married Oleta D. Phillips Oct. 23, 1943, in Fort Worth, Texas. She survives.
He was a pilot during World War II and was also manager/vice-president of Ideal Foods.
He was a former resident of Liberal.
Survivors include, one son, Larry Phillips, Midwest City; one daughter, Penny Hoskinson, Midwest City; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Burial was Jan. 27 at Ada Oklahoma Memorial Cemetery.
EARLENE L. KILGORE
TYRONE, Okla. -- Earlene Leona Kilgore, 89, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, at Beadles Nursing Home in Alva, Okla.
She was born July 31, 1913, to Will and Vida (Rearick) Harr in Haviland.
She married Elton Kilgore April 27, 1931. He preceded her in death.
She worked as a Stanley Home Products Representative for 43 years.
She was a member of Tyrone Baptist Church in Tyrone, where she taught Sunday school, vacation Bible school, and worked in women's missionary.
She was also a member of the Tyrone Home Demonstration Club where she won many awards for sewing and cooking.
She is survived by two sons, Dean and wife, Evonne, Alva, Larry and wife, Janice, Liberal; one daughter-in-law, Beverly Kilgore, Liberal; two sisters, Mildred Martens and husband, Wallace, Turpin, Okla., and Jane Atherton and husband, Lee, Denver, Colo.; one sister-in-law, Stella Harr, Boulder, Colo; four grandchildren, Jamie Howell and husband, Larry, Liberal, Rick Kilgore and wife, Patti, Alva, Lana Hasik and husband, Jack, Liberal, and Leslie Kilgore, Norman, Okla.; 11 great-grandchildren, Teryn Draper and husband, Branden, Tyler Brown, Andy and Danielle Howell, Kale Dean Kilgore, Tiffani, Ericka, Ashlee, and Mitchel Kilgore, Micah and Jarred Hasik; and numerous other relatives.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Nola Alice Harr; one son, Jim; one grandchild, Randy Kilgore; one brother, Merlin "Budd" Harr; and one sister, Esther Harr.
Funeral services
will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Tyrone Baptist Church in Tyrone with the Rev. Clifford Dane presiding.

FERN F. POUNDS
BALKO, Okla. -- Fern Frances Pounds, 100, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003, at Beaver County Nursing Home.
She was born June 13, 1902, to Francis Lincoln and Louisa Ellen (Tchirgi) Pounds in Millersburg, Iowa.
She attended school in Valley View, Beaver, and Goodwell, Okla.
She was a farmer.
She was a member of Church of God.
Survivors include one grandson, Leonard Pounds; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Hallie Abernathy, June Frazee, Dola Pounds, Marjorie Pounds, Jessie Pounds; one brother, Don Pounds; and one son, Waldean Pounds.
Graveside services
will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Capitol View Cemetery in Elmwood, Okla. with Edwin Waterbury presiding.
Burial will be at Capitol View Cemetery in Elmwood.
MYRTLE M. PUGH-RIGGS
BALKO, Okla. -- Myrtle Marie Pugh-Riggs, 88, died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, at Newman Medical Center in Shattuck, Okla.
She was born Nov. 4, 1914, to William and Clara (Kievel) Young in Beaver County, Okla.
She was a farmer.
Survivors include, two sons, Don L. Pugh, Yukon, Okla., and J. Wayne Pugh, Shattuck, Okla.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives.
Funeral services
were at 10 a.m. Saturday at Balko Apostolic Church in Balko with Joe Day and Edwin Waterbury presiding.
Burial was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Balko.
DR. JIM CHOCKLEY
BEAVER, Okla. -- Dr. Jim Chockley, DVM, 66, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, at Beaver County Memorial Hospital in Beaver.
He operated and ran the Beaver Animal Clinic for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Ann, Beaver; two sons, Charlie Chockley, Beaver, and step-son Jimmie Valentine, Oilton, Okla.; three daughters, Karen Trippet, Ft. Collins, Colo., Brenda Cooper, Tulsa, Okla., and step-daughter Dana Martin, Goodwell, Okla.; two brothers, Roger and Roy Chockley, both of Beaver; one sister, Otha Marie McDaniel, Felt, Okla.; step-mother, Iris Chockley, Beaver; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services
will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Beaver First Church in Beaver with Jim SUtherland presiding and Dr. Don Rogers assisting.
Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Clearlake, Okla., with Clark Funeral Service in Beaver in charge of arrangements.
HOMER S. BLANKENSHIP
HOOKER, Okla. -- Homer S. Blankenship, 93, of Hooker, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
He was born June 13, 1909, to Lewis R. and Daisy (Issacs) Blankenship in Marshall, Ark.
He married Lillie Reba Javurek Feb. 5, 1929, in Hooker. She died Jan. 15, 1990.
He worked as a farmer his whole life, retiring in 1995.
He was a member of United Methodist Church in Hooker.
Survivors include one daughter, Nelda Reed and husband, Merlin, Boleyn, N.M.; one brother, Curt Blankenship and wife, Maxine, Guymon, Okla.; four grandchildren, Tom Arnold and wife, Vickie, Hooker, Mike Arnold and wife, Tammy, Hooker, Mernel Times and husband, Phil, Flagstaff, Ariz., Londe Hunter and husband Tommy, Guymon; six great-grandchildren, Greg, Valerie, Wade, Jake, Clint and Tonde; and four great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Darlene Arnold; and seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services
will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church in Hooker with the Rev. Rick Trobaugh presiding.
Burial will be at Hooker Cemetery in Hooker.

JAMES L. DUERSON
TURPIN, Okla. -- James. L. "Jim" Duerson, 52, died Sunday, March 2, 2003, at his home in Turpin.
He was born Nov. 4, 1950, to Vernon A. and Lenore (Adams) Duerson in Perryton, Texas.
He married Ronna R. Pittser on July 19, 1974, in Clayton, N.M. She survives.
He graduated from Turpin High School in 1969, and later attended Northwestern State University of OK.
He worked for Air Products, and was a farmer.
His hobbies included snow-skiing, reading, hunting, and history.
He was a member of Turpin Baptist Church.
Other survivors include, two sons, James Duerson Jr. and companion, Terrie Jones, and John Duerson, Turpin; one daughter, Andrea Duerson and companion, Alex Stalker, Topeka; one brother, Alvin Duerson and wife, Lisa, Turpin; one sister, Jane Ulibarrie and husband, James, Turpin; three grandchildren, Alexis Jones, James Lee Duerson III, and Trysta Kay Duerson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services
will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Turpin High School Gymnasium with the Rev. Jimmy Reed and Rev. Dianna Izquierdo presiding.
Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today, from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, and from 8 a.m. until noon Thursday at Miller Mortuary.
