JOHNNY G. MCBEE
TYRONE, Okla. -- Johnny G. McBee, 78, Tyrone, died Friday, Aug. 23, 2002, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
He was born Sept. 15, 1923, to Fred W. and Gertie G. (Cook) McBee in Goodwell, Okla.
He married Peggy J. Nelson April 25, 1943, in Liberal. She survives.
He attended school in Liberal.
He entered the U.S. Navy and served during World War II.
Upon returning from the Navy, he worked at Light Mill and Grain and the Conoco Service Station. In 1954, he began a 32-year career with the Hugoton-Plains Gas Co., which later became Mapco and then Santa Fe.
He retired in 1986 as a field technician.
He moved to the Tyrone community in 1954.
He was a member of the Tyrone Baptist Church and had served as a Boy Scouts leader for many years.
Other survivors include two sons, J.K. McBee and wife, Mickey, Amarillo, Texas, and Russ McBee and wife, Janet, Tyrone; one daughter, Joan Herrell and husband, Steve, Valley Center; one sister, Joy Whitney, Tacoma, Wash.; six grandchildren, Rowdy K. McBee, Johnny Ross McBee, Kristy K. Wyer, Stephanie M. Taylor, Robin Wohlotz and Sharina Lynn Jenkins; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one grandson.
Graveside services
will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Tyrone Cemetery in Tyrone with the Pastor Derrick Cox presiding.
Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. today at Miller Mortuary in Liberal.

LEONA F. NICHOLES
GUYMON, Okla. -- Leona Fern (Delano) Nicholes, 91, long-time Guymon, Okla., resident, died Aug. 22, 2002, at Pioneer Manor in Hugoton.
She was born Oct. 31, 1911, to Cliff and Avis (Allender) Delano in St. Johns.
She married Chester Nicholes April 12, 1927. He preceded her in death.
She was raised in the Hugoton/Liberal area and attended country grade schools. She attended high school in Hugoton.
She and her husband lived on the Nicholes family farm southwest of Hugoton until 1935, when they moved to Hugoton. In 1952, they moved to Republic Natural Gas Plant, 12 miles north of Guymon. They moved to Guymon in 1963.
She was a homemaker until her children left home and then began her career as an Avon Representative. She completed 30 years of service with Avon before her retirement.
She was a member of First Church of God in Guymon where she served for many years as pianist.
Survivors include one son, C.L. Nicholes, El Paso, Texas; four daughters, Meriem Nicholes, Guymon, Delores Breton and husband, Jim, Amarillo, Texas, Brenda Nicholes, Cleveland, Ohio, and Charlsye Oblander and husband, Jim, Goodwell, Okla.; three sisters, Jo Packard and husband, Roy, Hugoton, Avis January and husband, Clarence, and Elda Nichols, all of Liberal; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother; two sisters; one son; one daughter-in-law; and two grandsons.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bunch-Roberts Chapel in Guymon with the Rev. Stan Lehnert presiding.
Memorials are suggested to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for Alzheimer's Research in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942.
DOROTHY I. WALKER
BEAVER, Okla. -- Dorothy Isis Walker, 76, died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002, at Baptist Integris in Oklahoma City, Okla.
She was born July 17, 1926, to George and Alice (Gothard) Collinson in Leeds West, England.
She married John Walker Sept. 27, 1945, in Suffolk, England. He died April 7, 1992.
She and her husband moved to Beaver in 1950.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by numerous relatives.
Funeral services
will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Beaver United Methodist Church in Beaver with John Breon presiding.
Burial will be at Pioneer Cemetery in Beaver.
Clark Funeral Service in Beaver is in charge of arrangements.
MILDRED E. WILLIAMS
TYRONE, Okla. -- Mildred E. Williams, 93, died Monday, Aug. 26, 2002, at her son's home near Tyrone.
She was born March 23, 1909, to Edward G. and Grace (Nighswonger) Vanantwerp in Sparland, Ill.
She married Dale E. Williams Sr. Feb. 20, 1930, in Alva, Okla. He died in 1964.
She attended public school in Alva and attended Northwestern State University.
She taught school for two years in Two Buttes, Colo. and then moved to Tyrone, where she lived for 71 years.
She was a member of Baker United Methodist Church in Baker, Okla.
Survivors include one son, Sonny Williams and wife, Kimberley, Tyrone; one daughter, Luann Pehle, Richardson, Texas; three grandsons; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; one great granddaughter; and one step-great-grandson; and friend Louise Ferguson, Hugoton.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Tyrone Cemetery in Tyrone with the Rev. Odie Nunley presiding.
A private burial will precede the memorial service.
Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker is in charge of arrangements.
ELDON D. BANISTER
EDMOND, Okla. -- Eldon D. Banister, 64, died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002, in Edmond.
He was born July 16, 1938, to Delano and Dorothy (Donnelly) Banister in Little River.
He married Neoma Ledford. She survives.
He was retired from Cain's Coffee Company.
His hobbies included fishing, hunting, shooting sporting clays and his RV club, Frontier Sams.
Other survivors include his father and stepmother, Barbara, Hugoton; two daughters, Lynn Chambliss and husband, Bob, Jefferson, Texas, and Dona Pickard, Tulsa, Okla.; one brother, Daryl Banister and wife, Ellen, Augusta; two sisters, Janice Bell and husband, E.H., Liberal, and Cheryl Handy, Oklahoma City; three step granddaughters; one step-grandson; one step-great-granddaughter; two nieces; and eight nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Funeral services
were at 10 a.m. Saturday at Baggerley Funeral Home Chapel in Edmond.
Burial was at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Oklahoma City.
BRUCE D. BLACKWELDER
HOOKER, Okla. -- Bruce Dee Blackwelder, 55, died Friday, Aug. 30, 2002, as the result of an auto accident near Optima, Okla.
He was born May 31, 1947, to Lawrence and Ulah Mae (Fox) Blackwelder in Guymon, Okla.
He married Millie Starkey July 9, 1967.
He married Kay Foutch Oct. 12, 1978, in Eagle Nest, N.M. She survives.
He attended Hooker schools and graduated from Hooker High School with in 1965. He attended Panhandle A&M in Goodwell, Okla., earning a degree in animal husbandry.
He farmed and ranched his whole life, and in 1997 became the owner and operator of Pan-Ok Service, working in the oil and gas industry.
He was a member of the Methodist Church, the leader of Grassland Gunfighters, the secretary of No Man's Land Rifle and Pistol Club, administered the Jr. and Sr. High NRA Scholarship, was the secretary of Five State Friends of NRA, Past Master of Hooker Lodge #366 AF&AM, and a 32-degree Mason in the Valley of Guthrie.
Other survivors include two sons, Brent Blackwelder and wife, Ranee, Pearland, Texas, and Brady Blackwelder and wife, Ana, Friendswood, Texas; two daughters, Daina Davis and husband, David, Liberal, and Steffanie Liebman and husband, Chris, Hardesty, Okla.; one brother, Albert Blackwelder and wife, Carolyn, Hooker; one sister, Gail Gordon and husband, Dan, Hooker; one aunt, Millie Blackwelder, Hutchinson; 12 grandchildren, Allen, Becky, Josh, Ryan, Matt, Amanda, Caily, Allix, Jax, Brandon, Jesse, Sabrina, and an expected grandchild in April.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services
will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Hooker with the Pastors Rick Trobaugh and Don Calvert presiding.
Burial will be at Hooker Cemetery in Hooker.

MILTON B. FRIESEN
ADAMS, Okla. -- Milton B. Friesen, 87, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
He was born March 23, 1915, to Jacob E. and Elizabeth (Bartel) Friesen on the family farmstead near Adams.
He married Evelyn Martens Nov. 26, 1939, in Hooker. She survives.
He attended school in Neff and high school at Buehler. He attended Panhandle A&M in Goodwell, Okla., where he received his degree in education. He later attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Okla., receiving a master's of science degree in 1956. He attended Western State College in Gunnison, Colo., earning a degree as a specialist in education administration.
He taught school in Adams and at Eureka School in Baker, Okla. He taught at Mennonite Mission School in Indiahoma, Okla., for one year and later taught in Balko, Okla. He taught at West Junior High in Liberal. He retired in 1980. He farmed his whole life and continued after retirement.
His hobbies included woodworking.
Other survivors include one daughter, Janice Colvin and husband, Dwayne, Adams; one adopted daughter, Frances Friesen, Newton; one sister, Elma Kliewer, Perryton, Texas; one grandson, Michael Friesen and wife, Valerie, Dallas, Texas; two great-grandsons, Chase and Chad; and three adopted grandchildren, Jermiah, Jacob and Jarod.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Elmer, Dick and Jacob; and three sisters, Elizabeth, Sarah and Olga.
A committal service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Adams Mennonite Cemetery near Adams.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Hooker with the Pastor Rick Trobaugh and Gordon Schroeder presiding.
The family will greet friends and relatives from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker, Okla.
