FORREST COLE
Forrest Cole, 75, Cherokee, Okla., formerly of Liberal, died Thursday, June 27, 2002, at Cherokee Manor in Cherokee.
He was born Nov. 1, 1926, to Chester and Florence (Ford) Cole in Cherokee.
He married Billie Jean Sloan Sept. 21, 1949, in Perryton, Texas.
He married Carol Everett May 22, 1975, in Dalhart, Texas. She survives.
He graduated from Hardesty High School in Hardesty, Okla.
He was employed for the U.S. Postal Service for 24 years in Liberal, and later he was a mechanic for USD 480 for several years.
He moved to Camp Verde, Ariz., and to Cherokee in November 2001.
He was a member of the South Church of God in Liberal.
Other survivors include six sons, Gary Cole and wife, Lynda, Olathe, Dale Cole and Alan Cole, both of Liberal, David Cole, Chattanooga, Tenn., Coy Wallace and wife, Terri, Lincoln, Neb., and Kevin Wallace, Tucson, Ariz.; two daughters, Rev. Patti Cole Sullivan and husband, Rev. James, Flanders, N.Y., and Rhonda Shields and husband, Chris, Lamar, Colo.; one sister, Margaret Pennock, Cherokee; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and former wife, Billie Jean Wriston, Liberal.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the South Church of God in Liberal with the Rev. James P. Sullivan presiding.
Cremation will follow.
Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. Sunday and from 8-11 a.m. Monday at Miller Mortuary in Liberal.
The family suggests memorials to either the American Cancer Society or the Cherokee Friends Church, both in care of Miller Mortuary, 908 N. Lincoln, Liberal, KS 67901.
BELVA THOMPSON
GUYMON, Okla. -- Belva "Nadine" Thompson, 84, died Sunday, June 30, 2002, at Dunaway Manor Nursing Home in Guymon.
She was born Dec. 20, 1917, to J.R. and Lusetta (Carmack) Phillips in Cumberland County, Tenn.
She married Everett Eugene "Gene" Thompson June 10, 1939, in Liberal. He died Aug. 22, 1981.
She graduated from Hooker High School in Hooker, Okla., in 1937.
She had been a long-time resident of Liberal and moved to Guymon in 1991.
She was a homemaker and had attended Faith Tabernacle Church in Liberal.
Survivors include one son, Larry Thompson, Shawnee; one brother, Herold Phillips and wife, Imogene, Midland, Texas; two sisters, Jewell Parker and husband, Elmer, Guymon, and Joye Walters and husband, Albert, Amarillo, Texas; one sister-in-law, Edna Phillips, Liberal; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Lorraine Fleming, Guymon; three grandchildren, Tracie Alexander, Robert Thompson and Angela Januszewski; and three great-grandchildren, Marshall, Madison and Miranda Januszewski.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Howard Phillips, Clifford Phillips and Cecil Phillips; and one sister, Clura Criss.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel in Liberal.
Burial will follow at Liberal Cemetery in Liberal.
Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to either Dunaway Manor Nursing Home or a charity of the donor's choice, both in care of Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home, 1212 W. Second St., Liberal, KS 67901.
RANDY C. JOHNSON
GUYMON, Okla. Randy Charles Johnson, 46, Guymon, died Friday, July 12, 2002, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
He was born June 27, 1956, to Robert Charles and Patricia Ann (Bronson) Johnson in Plainview, Texas.
He married Nancy Lee Noble Nov. 28, 1975, in Guymon. She survives.
He moved with his family to Guymon in the 1960s from Amarillo, Texas.
He had worked as a mechanic with Duke Energy since 1980.
His hobbies included golfing, especially with his wife and granddaughters, and hunting with his son.
Other survivors include one son, Jeremiah Johnson and fiancé, Rebecca Dachille, Guymon; one daughter, Nicole Spry and husband, Michael, Guymon; his mother, Guymon; one brother, Robby Johnson and wife, Vickie, Elk City, Okla.; one sister, Donna Esser and husband, J.B., Kismet; four grandchildren, Baleigh Watson, Jayden Johnson, Braylon Spry, and Kambrian Dachille; and numerous nephews, nieces, uncles and aunts.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Lane Baptist Church with the Rev. Lloyd Riddles presiding.
Burial will follow at Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon.

VICKY COLE
HOOKER, Okla. Vicky Cole, 52, Hooker, died Thursday, July 11, 2002, at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, Okla.
She was born Jan. 11, 1950, to Elmer Raymond and Rzona (Davis) Reed in Wichita Falls, Texas.
She married David Cole June 9, 1973, in Arlington, Texas. He survives.
She lived in Wichita Falls, and later in Dallas. She moved to Hooker in 1994 from Lubbock, Texas.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hooker.
Other survivors include two sons, Jeffrey Vanzandt, Corpus Christi, Texas, and Christopher Lee Cole and wife, Carol, Seattle; one daughter, April Christian and husband, Tony Walker, Hooker; two brothers, Wayne Reid and wife, Kay, Texas, and Donnie Reid, Wichita Falls; three sisters, Martha Vanzandt and husband, Eddie, Alvarado, Texas, Mary Jane Reid and Ruth Ann Reid, both of Wichita Falls; four grandchildren, Cade Scott Gregg, David Michel Zuniga, Harley Michele Zuniga, and Keana Cole.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and one sister.
Funeral Services were at 2 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Hooker with the Brother Ron Mimms presiding.
Burial was at Hooker Cemetery in Hooker and directed by Robert Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker.

ROSS PIRTLE
BEAVER, Okla. -- Ross Stinson Lee Pirtle, 92, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at Beaver County Memorial Hospital in Beaver.
He was a long-time resident of Beaver County.
He was a retired farmer and rancher.
He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife Pauline, of the home; four daughters, Junetta Barby and Jo Ann Herchock, both of Beaver, Joy Shryock, Guymon, Okla., and Janell Pirtle, Fort Collins, Colo.; two sisters, Grace Hibbs, Turpin, Okla., and Gladys Cook, Strasburg, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Beaver United Methodist Church with John Breon presiding.
Burial will at Pioneer Cemetery in Beaver.
Clark Funeral Service in Beaver is in charge of arrangements.
PAUL D. CALDWELL
BALKO, Okla. -- Paul Dean Caldwell, 49, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002, at Beaver County Memorial Hospital in Beaver, Okla.
He was born Feb. 22, 1953, to Paul Baker and Delores Maedean (Brown) Caldwell in Beaver.
He married Diana Kane March 8, 1975, in Meade. She survives.
He graduated high school in 1971, attended one year of college and was a farmer and rancher in Beaver County.
Other survivors include one son, Jamie Paul Caldwell, Beaver; one daughter, Candace Michelle Caldwell, of the home; his parents, of Balko; three sisters, Delores Coxwell, Booker, Texas, Vivian Godfrey, Pampa, Texas, and Debra Fox, Amarillo, Texas; one granddaughter, Cheyenne Caldwell, Beaver; and numerous other relatives.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Beaver First Christian Church in Beaver with Dennis Warren and Brian Loreg presiding.
Burial will be at Pioneer Cemetery in Beaver.

MARGARET TEEL
HOOKER, Okla. -- Margaret Teel, 87, died Friday, Aug. 2, 2002, at Rebold Manor in Okmulgee, Okla.
She was born Aug. 30, 1914, to Pleas and Tennie Carlin in Monett, Mo.
She married Glenn Austin Teel in November 1931 in Hooker. He preceded her in death.
She and her husband worked to establish Teel's Sunshine Dairy.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hooker, having served as the president of the Women's Missionary Group and Sunday school teacher.
She was a member of the Loyal Helper Home Demonstration Club and participated in many educational and community programs at local, state and national levels. One project she contibuted to was the improvement and beautification of Hooker Cemetery, including the establishment of trees and shrubs along Memorial Drive.
Every August for many years she hosted the Loyal Helpers Sunshine Breakfast.
She served as an adult 4-H Club leader for more than 30 years.
Her hobbies included gardening and attending family gatherings.
During World War II, she cooked for servicemen from the Liberal airbase. She hosted meetings for groups such as 4-H, home demonstration groups, and dairy and farm associations.
In 1967, she was honored by the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service as the Texas County Homemaker of the Year, and she and her husband were honored in 1973 as the Oklahoma Farm Bureau's Farm Family of the Year.
Survivors include three sons, Dean Teel, Pete Teel and wife, and Bill Teel and wife; one daughter, Bonnie Seago; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two children, Jerry Teel and Carolyn Henderson.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Hooker with the Brother Ron Mimms presiding.
Burial will be at Hooker Cemtery in Hooker.
Family will greet friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday at Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker.
