ESTHER L. HARR
HOOKER, Okla. -- Esther Leila Harr, 82, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, Okla.
She was born June 25, 1920, to Will Frank and Vida Rearick Harr in Tyrone, Okla.
She was raised on a farm in the Oklahoma Panhandle.
She was a member of Adams Baptist Church.
Her hobbies included singing and helping to direct her church choir.
Survivors include three sisters, Earlene Kilgore, Alva, Okla., Mildred Martens and husband, Wallace, Turpin, Okla., and Nola Jane Atherton and husband, Lee, Denver; one sister-in-law, Stella Harr, Boulder, Colo.; six nephews; three nieces; and numerous great-nephews and great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Nola Smith; one brother, Merlin Harr; one nephew, James Kilgore; and one great-nephew, Randy Kilgore.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. today at Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker with the Rev. Jimmy Reed presiding.
Burial was at Tyrone Cemetery in Tyrone.
Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker was in charge of arrangements.
AUSTIN L. SMART
MEDFORD, Okla. -- Austin L. Smart, 93, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at Methodist Home in Enid, Okla.
He was born Sept. 23, 1909, to James Robert and Leona Elizabeth (Weed) Smart in Utopia, Texas.
He married Doris E. Eberle May 31, 1933, in McPherson. She died July 27, 1998.
He spent 10 years of his youth in the Imperial Valley of California. At that time, he worked a variety of jobs and moved back to Uvalde, Texas, where he graduated high school.
He attended business school in San Antonio and Central College in McPherson. He graduated from San Marcos State Teachers' College. He began his studies toward his master's degree at Texas A & I College in Kingsville and taught high school students at Banquete, Texas. He took summer courses at the University of Colorado and Interamerican University of Saltillo in Coahuila, Mexico.
He was a teacher and coach in Tarpley, Texas. He also sold Maytag washing machines door-to-door in the Hill Country of Texas.
In 1938, he began working for his father-in-law at the Eberle and Company Hardware and Implement Store in Deer Creek, Okla. He also farmed north of Deer Creek and operated a Grade A milking shorthorn dairy until 1955.
In December 1955, he and his family moved back to Texas where he returned to teaching. His first assignment was at the "Over-Age School" in Edcouch-Elsa, Texas.
In 1960, he became the Spanish teacher at Bishop High School in Bishop, Texas. He later taught Spanish and history at Deer Creek High School until his retirement.
He received a Grant County Soil Conservation Award.
He was a member of the Deer Creek Lions Club, Milking Shorthorn Association and later the Wheat Growers Association, the Oklahoma and Texas retired teachers' associations, Deer Creek Methodist Church and later the Willow View United Methodist Church. He was a Grant County ASCS board member.
His hobbies included raising cattle and horses, farming and teaching lessons from the Bible.
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Dohner and husband, Chuck, Kingston, Wash., Nancy Webster and husband, Kenneth, Garden City, formerly of Liberal, and Carol Wagar and husband, Mike, Nash; nine grandchildren, Debbie Dixon, Seattle, Dan Dohner and wife, Sherri, Marysville, Wash., Diane Everett and husband, Stephen, Kingston, Wash., Kirsten Edwards and husband, Jay, Enid, Beth Webster, Liberal, Celia Palmer and husband, Dan, Bethany, Ken Webster and wife, Jen, Geneva, Ill., Will Wagar and wife, Meredith, Enid, and Travis Wagar and wife, Jill, Oklahoma City; 18 great-grandchildren, Ryan and Bethany Dixon, Shayla, Seth and Sarah Dohner, Maxwell, Isaac and Ellena Everett, Jason, Aaron and Cristiana Edwards, Kyle and Kevin Palmer, Theodore Webster, Michelle, Meredi and Samuel Austin Wagar and Anna Eberle Wagar.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Marshall; and one sister, Irene Stanfield.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Nov. 30 in the Willow View United Methodist Church in Enid, Okla., with the Rev. Rik Marion presiding.
Burial was at 3 p.m. at Bayard Cemetery in Deer Creek with Norman "Shorty" Unruh presiding.
Hills-Ely Funeral Home in Medford was in charge of arrangements.
MALCOLM L. BREWER
GUYMON, Okla. -- Malcolm Lee Brewer, 44, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002.
He was born Feb. 3, 1958, to Billy Joe and Vivian (Cothron) Brewer in Fulton, Calif.
He attended school in Hooker, Okla., and graduated in 1976.
He was a resident of Hooker.
He was a pumper with Anadarko Petroleum since 1984.
He was a dive master with Scuba Ventures of Liberal.
He attended the Hooker Nazarene Church and was affiliated with the Philadelphia Church of God.
Survivors include his parents, of Optima; one son, Shaun Harris and wife, Michele, Hooker; two daughters, Camille Vess and husband, Kelly, Guymon, and Deanna Brewer, of the home; four grandchildren, Kyler Vess, Kaden and Kolten Vess and Jonathan Miller; one brother, Joe Brewer, Hooker; one sister, Kathleen Hanson, Altus, Okla.; fiance, Paula Miller, Hooker, and her children, Brandon Miller and J.J. Miller, Ponca City, Okla., and Chelsi Miller, Hooker; and numerous other relatives.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Trisha Ann Brewer.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Church of the Nazarene in Guymon with Dr. David Hoffman presiding.
Burial will be at Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon.

EUNICE L. LITTELL
HOOKER, Okla. -- Eunice Louella Littell, 88, long-time Rolla and Hugoton resident, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2002, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
She was born April 21, 1914, to Charles D. and Fannie Ellen (Christopher) Ipson in Englewood, Colo.
She married William "Delmas" Littell dec. 7, 1930, in Hooker. He died Nov. 6, 1983.
She and her family moved to the Rolla area in 1915.
She and her husband moved from Rolla to Hugoton in the early 1970s.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Rolla United Methodist Church, Rebekah Lodge and Eastern Star.
Survivors include two sons, Dr. Charles Littell and wife, Virginia, Hugoton, and Dr. William Jon Littell and wife, Ann, Houston, Texas; four grandchildren, Mark C. Littell, Wichita, Lisa Ann Castro, Maryland, James S. Littell, Houston, and William Jon Littell II, Oregon; five sisters, Opal Littell, Liberal, Erma Parker, Guymon, Alma Lane, California, Cleo Clinesmith, Rolla, and Carrol Lakin, Oregon; and six great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and five brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rolla United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Jordan presiding.
Burial will be at Rolla Cemetery in Rolla.

EARL W. CLAYTON
HOOKER, Okla. -- Earl Whittier Clayton, 87, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, near Hooker.
He was born Oct. 1, 1915, near Rattan, Okla.
He married Mae McEachern in 1938. She died in 1989.
He spent most of his life in the Broken Arrow-Tulsa vicinity where he farmed, raised cattle and worked for North American Rockwell for 18 years, retiring in 1981.
He was a member of the Church of Christ, where he served as an elder for 28 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Earlene Witt, Hooker, and Mary Poplin, Owasso, Okla.; eight grandchildren, Katy McKinley and husband, Neal, Hooker, Ellen Bare and husband, Brian, Houston, Julie Hurst and husband, Doug, Hooker, Annica Slater and husband, Joe, Hooker, Clay Witt and wife, Melissa, Hooker, Lance Poplin, Tulsa, Carmen O'Brien and husband, John, Tulsa, and Eric Poplin and wife, Chanda, Tulsa; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Church of Christ in Hooker.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Park Grove Cemetery in Broken Arrow, Okla.
Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at South Lawn Chapel in Moore's Funeral Home in Tulsa.

NEIL D. HOLMES
BEAVER, Okla. -- Neil Dewayne Holmes, 24, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, as a result of a vehicle accident southeast of Beaver.
He was born Oct. 1, 1978, to Billy Thomas and Helen May (Cadenhead) Holmes in Haskell, Texas.
He graduated from Beaver High School. He worked for the Oklahoma State Department of Transportation and was a volunteer fireman with the Beaver Volunteer Fire Department.
He was a member of the Beaver Firefighters Association and the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his father, Billy Thomas Holmes and wife, Linda, Woodward, Okla.; his mother, Helen Mary Clements and husband, Wayne, San Angelo, Texas; one brother, Bill Ron Meyer, Laverne, Okla.; three sisters, Misty Woods, Wylie, Colo., Susan Shrum, Forgan, Okla., and Kim Holmes, San Angelo; grandparents, Eldon Schuermann, Woodward, Jim and Maxine Black, Booker, Texas, Frank and Billie Cadenhead, Haskell, and Dorothy Black, Perryton, Texas; great-grandmother, Nellie Bird, Haskell; and numerous other relatives.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Beaver Baptist Church in Beaver with Jason Dirks presiding.
Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Woodward.
