CHARLES W. MYERS
PERRYTON, Texas -- Charles William "Bill" Myers, 93, formerly of Guymon, Okla., and a long-time resident of Eva, Okla., died Thursday, April 25, 2002, in Perryton.
He was born May 20, 1908, to George and Della (Peterman) Myers in Drummond, Okla.
He married Myrtle Mahnken Aug. 2, 1929, in Enid, Okla. She survives.
He grew up and attended school in Ringwood, Okla.
He and his wife moved to the Eva community in 1943, where they farmed until retirement in 1972.
In 1974, they moved to Guymon and then in 1998, they moved to Perryton.
He was a member of the Sunset Lane Baptist Church in Guymon.
His hobbies included fishing and traveling.
Other survivors include one son, Charles Myers and wife, Donna, Redondo Beach, Calif.; four daughters, Doris C. McClenney and Helen Bates and husband, Byerl, all of Perryton, Pat Berry and husband, Doug, Weatherford, Texas, and Ruth Sipes, Elkhart; two sisters, Bertha Reynor, Redding, Calif., and Mary A. Weisner, Orange Park, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers; and five sisters.
Funeral services
will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home in Guymon with the Rev. Lloyd Riddles presiding.
Burial will be at Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon.
Memorials are suggested to either Perryton Hospice or the charity of the donor's choice, both in care of Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home, Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73945.
EMMA WEEKS
GUYMON, Okla. Emma Weeks, 88, died Thursday, April 25, 2002, at Memorial Hospital of Texas County.
She was born Sept. 24, 1913, to James Wilson and Nancy Ellen (Hamilton) Pope north of Guymon, in what is now the Hough community.
She married Russell Weeks June 28, 1933, in Liberal. He died July 6, 1992.
After marriage, she made her home in Hough.
She attended Morning Star United Methodist Church in Hough for many years, before joining the Straight Christian Church.
She moved to Guymon in December 1994.
Most recently, she was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Guymon.
She taught Sunday School, Bible Study, Vacation Bible School, and worked in Christian Women's groups.
She was a member of the Home Demonstration Clubs for 66 years, and held many offices. She was a member of the Home Builders Demonstration Club, the Willing Workers, Mothers and Daughters in Guymon, and the Early Risers HCE group.
She was also a member of the Guymon Order of Eastern Star No. 419, serving as Worthy Matron and District Deputy.
She was the 1997 Pioneer Queen.
Her hobbies included cooking for friends, helping neighbors, visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include one son, Dwight Weeks, Guymon; one daughter, Phyllis Stephens and husband, Tom, Guymon; four grandchildren, Vicki Jo Fehlberg and husband, Randy, Guymon, Tamra Kay Clawson and husband, Dan, Hardesty, Okla., Kimberly Ann Weeks, Amarillo, Texas, and Douglas Allen Weeks, Tulsa, Okla.; 10 great grandchildren, Sterling Taylor, Lauren Taylor, Braxton Taylor, Taylor Fehlberg, Kyle Fehlberg, Truth Fehlberg, Cooper Clawson, Jacqueline Clawson, Walker Clawson, and Gatlin Clawson; and niece, LoRee Booth and husband, John, Spearman Texas.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Clarence Harley Pope; five sisters, Katie Blanche Goodloe, Edith May Pope, Clara Lois Pope, Edna Irene Lanham, and Lola Wilma David; one granddaughter, Lacrisha Diane Stephens Earls; one great-granddaughter, Heidi Grace Clawson; and grandson-in-law, Andy Clawson.
Funeral services
will be at 3 p.m. today at the Church of the Nazarene in Guymon with the Rev. Terry Armstrong presiding.
Burial will follow at Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon.
Memorials are suggested to the Church of the Nazarene in Guymon, either at the church, or in care of Henson-Novak Funeral Home, Box 1306, Guymon, OK 73942.
JESSE D. SCOGGINS
HOOKER, Okla. -- Jesse D. Scoggins, 86, Hooker, died Monday, April 29, 2002, at Memorial Hospital of Texas County in Guymon, Okla.
Funeral services
will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Hooker.
Burial will be at Hooker Cemetery in Hooker.
Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker is in charge of arrangements.
ALVIN PENNER
BALKO, Okla. Alvin Penner, 82, died Sunday, April 28, 2002, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
He was born Nov. 27, 1919, to Peter F. and Martha (Ratzlaff) Penner in Balko, Okla.
He married Esther Kliewer Aug. 28, 1943, in Belton, Mont. She survives.
He had been a long-time resident of the Balko area. He was a farmer and rancher.
He was a member of the Balko Mennonite Brethren Church.
He served in Civilian Public Service from December 1941 until December 1945.
Other survivors include son, Jerry Penner and wife, Betty, Balko; one daughter, Phyllis Miller and husband, Weldon, Weatherford, Okla.; two sisters, Lydia Kroeker, Corn, Okla., and Ruby Treu, Wauwautosa, Wis.; three grandchildren, Sheldon Miller, April Javorsky and husband, Kenton, and Misti Miller; and two great-grandchildren, Wesley Alvin and Kimberly Javorsky.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services
will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Balko Mennonite Brethren Church in Balko with the Pastors Dwayn Isaac and Gaylord Goertzen presiding.
Burial will be at Balko Mennonite Brethren Church Cemetery in Balko.
Friends may call until 9 p.m. today at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home in Liberal and from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the Balko Mennonite Brethren Church.

FLORENCE E. FOSTER
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. Florence Elizabeth Foster, 80, formerly of Guymon, Okla., died Friday, April 26, 2002, at St Anthony's Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Funeral services
will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home in Guymon.
Burial will be at Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon under the direction of Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home.
MARIA E. CARRANZA
Maria E, Carranza, 78, Liberal, died Sunday, April 28, 2002, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
She was born July 10, 1923 to Benigno and Maria (Gonzales) Carranza in Mazatenago, Guatemala.
She married Cristobal DeLeon in 1936 in Guatemala. He died May 9, 1983.
She moved to Liberal in 1974 and worked at the Liberal Inn for 11 years.
She was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Liberal.
Survivors include two sons, Victor DeLeon and wife, Maria, Guatemala, and Carlos DeLeon and wife, Maria, Liberal; three daughters, Gloria Salazar and husband, Manuel, Olga Mencos and husband, Victor, all of Liberal, and Adilia Lopez and husband, Oscar, Guatemala; 16 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, and one granddaughter.
A Rosary service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Liberal.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Liberal with the Father Patrick Keyes presiding.
Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church.
