FANNIE H. ROBB
FORGAN, Okla. -- Fannie Helen Robb, 89, died Saturday, July 7, 2001, in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
She was born Jan. 26, 1912, to Mathias and Carolina Posl in Floris, Okla.
She had been a lifetime resident of Beaver County, Okla., before moving to Idaho.
Survivors include one son, Jean William Spohn, Oklahoma City; one daughter, Alice Kay Wilson, Adaho Falls; three sisters, Rose Posl, Kathryn Noon and Clara McMillan; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jean R. Spohn and her second husband, Jim Robb.
Funeral services
will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Forgan United Methodist Church in Forgan with David Mercer presiding.
Burial will be at the Beaver Pioneer Cemetery in Beaver under the direction of Clark Funeral Service in Beaver.
BRIAN J. JACKSON
BAKER, Okla. -- Brian Justin Jackson, 25, Baker, died Sunday, July 8, 2001, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born March 13, 1976, to Robert B. and Janyth Kay (Johnson) Jackson in Liberal.
He attended school in Turpin, Okla., and graduated from Turpin High School in 1994.
He attended Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Okla., for two years. He also attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, Okla., for four years, where he received a bachelor's of science degree in business administration. He pursued minors in computers and accounting. He worked with all types of computers.
He was a member of the Baker Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Southwest Fitness Center.
His hobbies included playing golf, snow skiing and traveling during spring break to Cancun, Mexico, Florida, Padre Island, Texas, and Brownsville, Texas, at the Gulf Coast.
Survivors include his parents, of the home; one sister, Alisha Jackson, of the home; paternal grandparents, Buck and Gwen Jackson, Baker; maternal grandparents, Dow and Taulee Johnson, Granite, Okla.; aunts and uncles, Debbie Jackson, Gainsville, Texas, Tina and Jeff Buchman, Tyler, Texas, and Larry Johnson, Granite; great-aunts and great-uncles, Betty and Boots Struck, Golden, Calif., Anna Lou and Dale Caid, Granite, Kathleen Mitchell and Mary Ruth and Junior Barnes, all of Oklahoma City, Juanita Fick, Lamont, Ill., Hazel Hertzler, Thayer, Miss., Lois Meeks, Sterling, Ill., and Joyce and Gene Martin, Florida.
Funeral services
will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Turpin High School Auditorium in Turpin with Stanley Lehnert presiding.
Burial will be at Hooker Cemetery in Hooker.

STEVE O. VANWAGNER
MOORE, Okla. -- Steve O'Neal VanWagner I, 43, died Wednesday, June 27, 2001, at his home in Moore.
He was born June 2, 1958, to James O'Neal and Rita Faye (Holmes) VanWagner in Liberal.
He was raised in Liberal and graduated from Liberal High School.
He moved to Oklahoma City in 1991, and to Moore in 1996.
He was a carpenter by trade and his hobbies included painting, fishing and attending sporting events at Kansas State University.
He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Liberal.
Survivors include his father of Adams, Okla.; his mother of Liberal; three sons, Steve O'Neal VanWagner II and Clinton Dean VanWagner, both of Moore, and James Dean VanWagner, Mustang, Okla.; one daughter, Misty Dawn VanWagner, Moore; two brothers, Jerry Lee VanWagner, Oklahoma City, and Michael Ray VanWagner, Norman, Okla.; one sister, Patty Jo Timanus, Edmond, Okla.; and one grandson, Joseph Antonio.
Funeral services
were at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Chapel of The Good Shepherd at McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service in Mustang.
Burial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Liberal Cemetery in Liberal.
GERTRUDE R. SMITH
HOOKER, Okla. -- Gertrude R. Smith, 91, Los Angeles, died Sunday, June 24, 2001, at her son's home in LaVerne, Calif.
She was born Feb. 12, 1910, to John and Matilda (Huddleston) Ebisch in Wapanucka, Okla.
She married Earl Smith July 25, 1931, in Guymon, Okla. He died Aug. 19, 1993.
While living in Hooker, she had been employed as a telephone operator.
She and her husband moved to Kansas City. In 1938, they moved to California, where she lived for 64 years.
Survivors include one son, Don Smith, LaVerne; one daughter, Shirley Leitherer, Grass Valley, Calif.; one brother, John Lee Ebisch, Hooker; 15 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services
will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hooker Cemetery in Hooker with the Rev. Gary Flynt presiding.

BEATRICE LA RUE
WILSON, Okla. -- Beatrice "Bea" La Rue, 72, died Sunday, June 24, 2001, at her home in Ardmore, Okla.
She was born Oct. 17, 1928, to John Henry and Mable Mae (Sirmon) Knutson in Oil City, Okla.
She married C. Carl La Rue July 20, 1962, in Snyder, Texas. He survives.
She was raised in Oil City and Rexroat, Okla., where she graduated from Rexroat High School.
She attended UCLA for two years.
She and her husband moved to Turpin, Okla., where they lived for 40 years. In 1985, they moved to the Lake Murray area in Oklahoma, where they have lived off and on since.
Other survivors include two daughters, Faith Welker, Liberal, and Carla Fox, Dallas; one brother, Edward Knutson, Waco, Texas; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her father on Nov. 17, 1965, and her mother on Dec. 19, 1968; one infant son in 1962; and three sisters, Clara Reynolds, Mary Patrick and Gertie McGehee.
Graveside services
will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Keller Cemetery in Carter County, Okla., with the Rev. Bud Jones presiding.
Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson is in charge of arrangements.
THELMA C. HACKLEY
BEAVER, Okla. Thelma Carlene Hackley, 24, died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, at Beaver County Memorial Hospital in Beaver after being struck by an automobile.
She was born June 30, 1976, to Eugene Hackley and Viola (Acker) Ullrich in Hugoton.
She moved to Beaver from Hooker, Okla., in 1983.
She attended the Beaver school system, and was employed as a waitress at the Motel Restaurant in Beaver.
Survivors include her father of Great Bend and her mother and her husband, Charles Ullrich, Beaver; two brothers, Donald Hackley, Woodward, Okla., and Everett Hackley, Beaver; one sister, Tana Hackley, Beaver; one grandmother, Iva Ullrich, Laverne, Okla.; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
Funeral services
will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Beaver with Rev. Don Rogers presiding.
Burial will be at 3 p.m. at the Hooker Cemetery in Hooker with minister Neville Buchanan presiding.
A Thelma Hackley Fund has been established at the Bank of Beaver in Beaver.

ALBERT HERBEL
HOOKER, Okla. -- Albert Herbel, 81, Hooker, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
He was born April 28, 1920, to George and Lydia (Steinert) Herbel on the family farm west of Hooker.
He married Helen M. Hoeme Oct. 5, 1946, in Hooker. She survives.
He attended Buffalo School, St. John's Parochial School and Optima High School in Optima, Okla.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served from 1942 to 1945 in the U.S. Air Force. He served in Australia, New Guinea and the Phillipines.
He was a long-time member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hooker, where he served as treasurer, trustee, Sunday school teacher and usher.
He once was employed as a mechanic at Hofferber trucking. He opened his own business, Herbel Machine Shop and Trucking, in 1954.
He also partnered with C.J. Hammack to open Hooker TV Cable in 1957.
He opened Hooker's first ready-mix concrete plant in 1962, and his business became Herbel Concrete and Steel Erectors Inc.
He sold his share of the of the local cable company in the early 1970s. In 1999, he sold the concrete portion of his business but continued to work.
He served on the Hooker City Council for 12 years.
Other survivors include one son, Richard G. Herbel, Oxford, Mich.; one daughter, Sheila Blankenship, Hooker; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Herbel, Englewood, Colo; three sisters, Leona Dorsch of Muskogee, Okla., Marie Bruton, Jefferson City, Mo., and Pauline Lane, Hooker; three grandchildren, Emily and Katie Herbel, both of Englewood, and Ian Blankenship of Hooker; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Charles A. "Chuck" Herbel; one sister, Viola Hofferber; and four brothers-in-law, Jay Bruton, Dave Dorsch, Alex Hofferber and Ed Lane.
Funeral services
will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hooker with the Revs. Christopher M. Boehnke and Mark Wescoatt presiding.
Burial will be at the Hooker Cemetery in Hooker.
