TURPIN, Okla. -- George G. Schneider, 61, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2001, at his home in Turpin.
Funeral services
are pending and will be announced by Miller Mortuary in Liberal.
MARY L. FRANKLIN
GUYMON, Okla. -- Mary Louise Franklin, 81, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001, at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal.
She was born Sept. 6, 1919, to Stephen and Wessie (Burney) Jackson in Burneyville, Okla.
She married Loyd J. Franklin July 24, 1951, in Ardmore, Okla. He died July 10, 1990.
She was raised in Burneyville and graduated from Burneyville High School in 1937.
She was a homemaker and had worked for the Guymon school system as a cook for 15 years.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Guymon, where she was involved in the Prime Timer's Group.
She was also a member of the Guymon Lioness Club.
She had been a resident of Wheatridge Park Care Center for the past two years.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Franklin and wife, Sherry, Guymon, and Les Franklin and wife, Susan, Liberal; one daughter, Carol Fletcher and husband, Lonnie, Amarillo, Texas; one brother, Gene Jackson, Ogden, Utah; eight grandchildren, Aliecha Franklin, Heather Atwood, Tammy Herndon, Willie Shields, Holly Williams, Ryan Franklin, Chance Fletcher and Colby Fletcher; and five great-grandchildren, Jessi Franklin, Andrew Atwood, Issac Herndon, Matt Diaz and Haley Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral services
will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Guymon with the Rev. Derek Cox presiding.
Burial will follow at the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon.

BILLIE JEAN PARR
STILLWATER, Okla. -- Billie Jean Parr, 72, former Turpin, Okla., resident, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, in Stillwater.
She was born June 1, 1928, to Jasper and Minnie (Boydston) Corn in North Little Rock, Ark.
She married Robert E. Parr Dec. 15, 1946, in Little Rock. He died Aug. 13, 2000.
She was also a former resident of Yale, Okla., Beaver, Okla., Rogers, Ark., Tulsa, Okla., Fort Worth, Texas, Wichita Falls, Ark., Arkadelphia, Ark., and Little Rock.
She was a member of the Southside Baptist Church.
She was a homemaker and while a resident of Arkadelphia, she worked as a telephone operator. While a resident of Tulsa, she worked as a draftsman for the United States Army Corps of Engineers for almost six years.
She and her husband, a pastor, retired in 1990, when the moved to Stillwater.
Her hobbies included needlepoint crafts, reading, working crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.
Survivors include two sons, Robert G. Parr and wife, Pamela (Throop), Fairbanks, Alaska, and Randall E. Parr and wife, Doneva, Houston, Texas; one daughter, Lynette M. (Parr) Regier and husband, Bob, Turpin; six grandchildren, Benjamin Parr and wife, Sarah, Heather (Parr) Burnside and husband, Glenn, Nathan Parr and wife, Andrea, Brandi (Regier) Parker and husband, Chad, Matthew Parr and Cody Regier; and four great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Billie W. Gale.
Funeral services
will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Strode Chapel in Stillwater, with Pastor Wayne Sanmann presiding.
Burial will be at the Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater. Strode Funeral Home in Stillwater is in charge of arrangements.

ALVIN D. WHITMER
TURPIN, Okla. -- Alvin Doyle "Bud" Whitmer, 69, of Turpin, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at his sister's home in Mesa, Ariz.
He was born April 25, 1931, to George W. and Mattie M. (Hopke) Whitmer in Turpin.
He graduated from Turpin High School in 1949.
He had worked for area farmers. He also delivered newspapers for the Daily Oklahoman for many years and for the Southwest Daily Times for over 45 years.
His hobbies included watching Bee Jay baseball, and he had attended all the home games. He threw out the first ball of opening season several years ago.
He was a member of the Turpin United Methodist Church and the Turpin Senior Citizens.
Survivors include one sister, Sharon Lea Knutson and husband, Don, Mesa; and nieces, nephews and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Pat Davis.
Funeral services
will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Turpin United Methodist Church in Turpin with the Revs. Jerry Smith, Dan Frisby, Travis Welch and Dan Pearce presiding.
Burial will be at the Liberal Cemetery in Liberal.
Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. Friday and from 8-11 a.m. Saturday at Miller Mortuary in Liberal.
The family suggests memorials to the Turpin Senior Citizens Center in care of Miller Mortuary, 908 N. Lincoln, Liberal, KS 67905.
MARVIN H. COLEMAN
BEAVER, Okla. -- Marvin Hayes Coleman, 87, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at Beaver County Memorial Hospital in Beaver.
He was born May 23, 1913, to Hayes and Lillie Elizabeth (Conine) Coleman in Clearlake, Okla.
He married Fern Hageman June 2, 1935, in Beaver. She died March 14, 1998.
He had been a lifetime resident of Beaver County.
He was a farmer.
Survivors include two sons, Eugene M. Coleman, Olathe, and Jerry M. Coleman, Beaver; two daughters, Roberta M. Reddick and Alberta M. Perry, both of Beaver; one brother, Vernice Leroy Coleman, Woodward, Okla.; and many other relatives.
Funeral services
will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Service in Beaver with David Glascock presiding.
Burial will be at the Pioneer Cemetery in Beaver.
RAY MURPHY
HOOKER, Okla. -- Ray Murphy, 85, of Tyrone, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
Funeral services
will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Tyrone with the Rev. Clifford Dane presiding.
Burial will be at the Tyrone Cemetery in Tyrone.
Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker is in charge of arrangements.
RUTH TURNER
HOOKER, Okla. -- Ruth Turner, 68, of Tyrone, Okla., died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, in Tyrone.
She was born Feb. 29, 1932, to John and Marie (King) Blalock in Ashland.
She moved with her family from Ashland to Dodge City, where she spent her youth.
She married Cleon D. Reist Jr. Sept. 12, 1949, in Dodge City. He died Nov. 5, 1965.
She married Kenneth Turner of Tyrone in June of 1983. He died Feb. 8, 2000.
She moved to Ulysses in 1954, and in 1960 to Washington State, where her husband, Junior, took a position with the Milwaukee Railroad.
After several moves in Washington State, she moved back to Ulysses, where she worked for her parents at Blalock's Cafe for several years. She then drove cattle trucks for several years.
After her children were grown, she moved to Wichita and worked as a cook at Lake Afton Boys Ranch and the Wichita Children's Home.
In 1976, she returned to Ulysses to help her father with his landscaping business.
At the time of her second marriage, she was employed by the Liberal Good Samaritan Center as dietary department head.
Having been involved in ceramics while at Lake Afton Boys Ranch, she and her husband, Ken, opened a ceramics shop in Adams, Okla.
She enjoyed camping at the lake, fishing, swimming and boating. Her hobbies included ceramics, crafts, sewing and crocheting. She also had a garden pond in her back yard.
She held the record for the biggest fish caught in the family, a 48-pound king salmon caught at Neah Bay, Wash.
Survivors include one son, John Reist and wife, Mickey, Deerfield; two daughters, Karen Shoemaker and husband, Dan, Joplin, Mo., Sharon Howard, Manhattan; one sister, Donna Leonard and husband, Wayne, Amarillo, Texas; one step-son, Kenneth Turner and wife, Tina, Tyrone; three step-daughters, Evelyn Keever and husband, David, Bartlesville, Okla., Janett Bright and husband, Howard, Tyrone, Loretta Caldwell, Springfield, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Curt Shoemaker, Pacier Reist, Buck Reist, Joshua Howard, Mathew Howard, Seth Howard, Connie Shoemaker, Katina Strickland, Amber Gerstberger and Skyler Howard; six step-grandchildren, Tonya Grace, Misty Keever, Carrie Boley, Jammie Mead, Kristi O'Kane and Wendy Knoll; six great-grandchildren, Sierra, Lindsy, Bret, Tequila, Kyrie and Emma; 11 step-great-grandchildren, Macayla, Caitlin, Brenton, Michael, Jakob, O'Brian, Robert, Ashley, Star, Dominick and Nicholas; and very close friends Jodi and Larry Parker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Tom Reist; one brother, Bud Blalock; and two great-grandchildren, Cherokee and Levi.
Funeral services
will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Freewill Baptist Church in Ulysses with Seth Howard presiding.
Burial will be at the Grant County Cemetery in Ulysses.
