PATRICIA RUTH WHITELEY
JAY, Okla. -- Patricia Ruth Whiteley, 66, died Friday, July 28, 2000, at the Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Mo.
She was born Jan. 31, 1934, to Guy and Francis Waybright near Liberal.
She married Bobby Lee Whiteley June 6, 1951. He survives.
She worked for Peterson LP Gas in Jay for 22 years until retiring in 1998.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jay.
Other survivors include five sons, Bill, Rodney, Mike, Carl and Jim Whiteley; one brother, Irvin Waybright; two sisters, Pearl Smith and Katherine Drake; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services
will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Trinity Faith Church in Liberal. Burial will follow at the Floris Cemetery. The services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay.
VIOLET ALICE MOREHOUSE ROTH
TYRONE, Okla. -- Violet Alice Morehouse Roth, 92, died Friday, July 28, 2000, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Ponca City, Okla.
She was born Aug. 30, 1907, to Chester Harvey and Celia Frances (Koehn) Morehouse on her parent's homestead in what was then No Man's Land in the Oklahoma Territory.
She married E.W. "Eddie" Roth in 1929 in Richfield. He died in 1981.
She lived all of her life on farms in what is now Texas County, Okla.
She graduated from Eureka High School.
She and her husband made their home on a farm west of Tyrone where they lived together for over 50 years.
She continued to be involved with farm operations and live on their farm after her husband's death.
She was a member of the Tyrone Methodist Church.
She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge.
Her special interests were her grandchildren, great-granddaughters, needlework and gardening.
Survivors include her only child, Gary Roth and his wife, Sharon, Tonkawa, Okla., three grandsons, Garrett Christian Roth, Norman, Okla., James Roth and his wife, Janine, Joel Roth and his wife, Marcie, and four great-granddaughters, Ellen, Celia, Jessica and Jillian, all of Tonkawa; and two nieces and one nephew.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, John Roth; one brother, Charles Morehouse; and one sister, Margaret Morehouse.
Funeral services
will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Tyrone Methodist Church, Tyrone, with the Rev. Kim Dominic presiding. Burial will follow at the Tryone Cemetery, Tyrone, under the direction of McCafferty-Bolick Funeral Home in Tonkawa.
VIOLET ALICE MOREHOUSE

MAX WENDELL OVERTON
BEAVER, Okla. -- Max Wendell Overton, 64, died Wednesday, July 26, 2000, at the Beaver County Memorial Hospital in Beaver.
He was born July 13, 1936, to William Edwin and Georgia Beryl (Fronk) Overton in Beaver County, Okla.
He married Mary Ellen Gilmore Jan. 24, 1959, in Wagoner, Okla. She survives.
He lived his entire life in the Beaver County area, where he farmed and ranched.
He served in the U.S. Army and attended college where he received a bachelor of arts degree.
He was a member of the First Christian Church and was also a board member.
He was also a member of the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association.
Other survivors include one son, Myron Overton, Colorado Springs, Colo.; one daughter, Malinda Overton Webb, Stillwater, Okla.; one brother, Dean Overton, Portales, N.M.; two sisters, Virginia Mallory, Canton, Texas, and Joan Kachel, Beaver; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services
will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church, Beaver, with Paul Sisson and Roger Neff presiding. Burial will follow at the Pioneer Cemetery in Beaver, under the direction of Clark Funeral Service, Beaver.

BETTY LOUISE HUFFSTEDTLER
LOSTANT, Ill. --Betty Louise Huffstedtler, 72, died Monday, July 17, 2000, at the Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru, Ill.
She was born April 3, 1928, to Vernon Monroe and Anna Beatrice (Corbett) Miller in Hooker, Okla.
She attended high school in Adams, Okla. and graduated in 1946. She graduated from Salt Lake Business School in Hutchinson in 1948.
She worked at Horizon House in Illinois as a supervisor until retiring in 1992.
She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was a Girl Scout leader, Cub Scout den mother and a member of the VFW.
Survivors include two sons, William Snyder Jr. and wife, Barbara, Tonica, Illinois, and George G. Snyder, Lostant; two daughters, Gayle Fox and husband, Ray, Bartlesville, Okla., and Tami Faletti and husband, Robert, Oglesby, Ill.; three grandchildren; and one sister, Lillie Mac Cooper, Liberal.
Funeral services
were held Wednesday, July 19, at the Mueller Funeral Home, Lostant, where the Rev. Jim Jenkins presided. Burial was at the Hope Cemetery in Lostant.
Memorials are suggested to the Horizon House of Lostant.
VERNON "JUNIOR" RITTER
BEAVER, Okla. -- Vernon "Junior" Ritter, 70, died Saturday, July 22, 2000, in Beaver.
He was born Sept. 14, 1929, to Vernon Gray Ritter Sr. and Daisy Bell (Patton) in Groom, Texas.
He married Betty Williams June 6, 1948, in Beaver. She survives.
He was a retired Beaver County employee and longtime resident of Beaver.
Other survivors include one son, Vernon Ritter III, Elk City, Okla.; four daughters, Delores Jones, Woodward, Okla., Jane Lubbers, Cheney, and Karen Yates and Vida Cano, both of Beaver; one sister, Verna Bell Parker, Talala, Okla.; one brother, C.L. Ritter, Eufala, Okla; and 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services
will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church, Beaver, with Aaron Summers presiding. Burial will follow at the Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Clark Funeral Service, Beaver.
CLYDE EPH VENABLE
BEAVER, Okla. -- Clyde Eph Venable, 95, died Friday, July 21, 2000, in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
He was born April 16, 1905, to Ephraim Thomas and Lida (Miller) Venable.
He married Reta Potter. She died March 1, 1998.
He was the manager of the Sprouse Rietz Variety Store. He and his wife operated the store in Silver City, N.M. They later moved to Thousand Oaks.
Survivors include his son, Thomas Venable, Thousand Oaks; and one sister, Vivian Nichols.
He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services
will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Forgan Baptist Church, Forgan. Burial will follow at the Pioneer Cemetery, Beaver, under the direction of Clark Funeral Service, Beaver.
