Lois Laverne Corbin
Lois Laverne Corbin, 65, of Konawa died Wednesday at Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada.
Survivors include her husband, Jennings Bryan Corbin, of the home; a daughter, Deborah Judd of Cottonwood, Ariz.; a sister, Nena Shumate of Hananhan, S.C.; and nine grandchildren.
No service is scheduled. Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa will handle a direct cremation.
Mary V. Hughes
Mary Virginia Hughes, 96, of Kerrville, Texas, died Friday in a Kerrville nursing home.
A service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Shawnee. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Further arrangements will be announced by Rosech-Walker Funeral Chapel.
Billie Imogene Muzny
Former Prague resident Billie Imogene Muzny, 80, died Friday, Sept. 21, in San Antonio.
Service is pending under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Prague.
Gene Murray
Tecumseh resident Gene Murray, 81, died Saturday, Sept. 22, in Oklahoma City.
Service is pending under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
Don Raney
Longtime Seminole resident Don Raney, died Friday, Sept. 21, in Seminole.
Service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Tommy Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Walter Kent
Tecumseh resident Walter "Walt" Kent died Tuesday, Sept. 23, in Tecumseh at the age of 88.
He was born in Bazaar, Kan., on Aug. 16, 1915, to Frank and Edith Ann (Garner) Kent.
He grew up in Cottonwood Falls, Kan., and attended school there. He lived in Arkansas City, Kan., and worked for the Santa Fe railroad for 35 years, retiring in 1980, when he moved to Tecumseh.
He was married on March 23, 1973, to Rosemary O'Neal.
He was a member of the Masonic Crescent Lodge 133, AF&AM and Eastern Star Victory Chapter 151 of Arkansas City. He was also a member of the United Transportation Union Local 464 of Arkansas City, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Leonard, Paul and Wilbur Kent, and a sister, Elizabeth Morine.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Kent, of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles "Chalk" and Sharon Jones of Shawnee, Brent and Peggy Jones of Sulphur, Robert Kent of Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Fred Caldwell of Whitesboro, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Cooper Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Brown Cemetery. The Rev. Tracy Schumpert will officiate.
Bobbie LaVera Hollingsworth
Shawnee resident Bobbie Hollingsworth, 86, slipped quietly away Friday, Sept. 21, at her residence under the loving care of her younger daughter Rita Hollingsworth.
Bobbie was born July 31, 1921, in Mead, Okla., and was the eldest daughter of William Claud and Ellen Smith who were also long time residents of Shawnee.
She married her teenage sweetheart, Clyde J. Hollingsworth Jan. 12, 1942. Clyde died in 1995. Bobbie later married her other teenage sweetheart, L.K. Nelson Dec. 21, 1995.
Bobbie was a homemaker and raised two daughters, Sharon Cosgrove and Rita Hollingsworth and one son, Gary Hollingsworth.
She is survived by her three children, one sister, five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside will be 11 a.m. today at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Craig officiating.
Linda C. Sands
Shawnee resident Linda C. Sands died Monday, Sept. 24, in an Oklahoma City hospital at the age of 60.
Services are pending with Walker Funeral Service.
Elsie Kiker
Longtime Seminole resident Elsie Kiker died Saturday, Sept. 22, in Seminole, at the age of 86.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Wolf Cemetery with the Rev. Allen Wood and Winfred Lowe officiating.
Swearingen Funeral Home is directing arrangements.
Dollie Mae (Cox) Holt
Seminole resident Dollie Mae (Cox) Holt, 69, Sunday, Sept. 23, at Seminole Medical Center.
Viewing will be 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. today and Wednesday.
Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday at Little Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Mada V. McCutcheon
St. Paul, Neb., resident Mada Vee McCutcheon, 78, died Thursday, Sept. 20, at the Heritage Living Center in St. Paul.
Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. today at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Grand Island, Neb., with Bishop John Henderson officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home, Grand Island, Neb.
Virginia Proffitt
Our mother, sister, friend, and confidant, Shawnee resident, Virginia Proffitt, age 70, went to be with her Lord on Sunday Sept. 23, 2007, and is now walking the streets of gold
Virginia was born May 9, 1937, in Huntington, W.Va., to Ronald James and Cutie Mae Collins.
She worked as a custodian for the Arkansas Public School System. She loved her cooking class, watching NASCAR, gallivanting and doodabugging with friends, fishing, entertaining, traveling; and she loved making people laugh and smile.
She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Ginger Proffitt-Furrow and husband, Bill; and brothers, Billy, Jimmy, Alfred, and Charles Collins.
Survivors include her sons, Danny Proffitt and wife, Crystal, Raymond Proffitt, and John Paul Proffitt; daughter, Sylvia Weston and husband, Garry; sisters, Rose Mary Mays, Patricia Bratton; brothers, Thurman Collins, Larry Collins, and Lonnie Sonny Collins; and best friend, Jerry Collins, as well as many other loving relatives and friends.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
Maureen Riggin Harris
Lifelong Pottawatomie County resident Maureen Riggin Harris, 42, died Sunday, Sept. 23, in Tecumseh.
She was born July 20, 1965, in Shawnee to Charles Dewitt and Patsy Ruth (Tibbs) Riggin.
Maureen attended Shawnee Schools.
She was married April 22, 1981, to Ronnie Harris in Gainsville, Texas.
She was a homemaker.
Maureen was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Harvey Riggin.
Survivors include her husband, Ronnie Harris of the home; daughter, Patricia Lee Hawkins of Macomb; son, Charles Harris of the home; sisters and brother-in-law, Patsy and Danny Reeves, Mary Riggin, Anna Meeks, Suzie Riggin, and Genevieve Riggin; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Pam Riggin, and Charley and Linda Riggin.
Service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cooper Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery.
Noma E. Autrey
Shawnee resident Noma E. Autrey, 83, passed away Tuesday morning at home after a lengthy illness.
Service will be Friday at Resthaven Cemetery. More information will be provided by Resthaven Funeral Home.

Shawnee resident Albert Wild died Thursday, Sept. 20, at the age of 93.
