Sullivan

Margaret W. Sullivan, 87, of Granite, was born October 19, 1916 in Greer County to Evalena and Benton M. Bilbrey. She died Aug. 5, 2004 at Mangum City Hospital in Mangum. She was married to Henry R. Sullivan and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, Henry; one son, two brothers and one sister.

Sullivan is survived by a son, Donald Sullivan of Granite; a sister, Faye Jo Haynes of Granite; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, at 10 a.m. at Rock Cemetery officiated by Glen Burkhalter.

Arrangements are with People's Cooperative Funeral Home, Lone Wolf.

Massie

Mike Massie, 43, died Aug. 6, 2004 in Wichita Falls, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 10, 2004, in Lunn's Colonial Chapel with the Rev. David McCracken, pastor of New Life Assembly of God in Cache, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Mike was born Feb. 3, 1961, to Don R. and Jean Taylor Massie in Wichita Falls, Texas. Mike graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1979. He was a member of the Marching Band, A Capella Choir, the Old High Singers and the National Honor Society.

Mike had a long career with Red River Federal Credit Union in Altus as a loan officer and as assistant vice-president until becoming ill in 2001. Mike was a member and past president of both the Altus Noon Lions Club and the Altus Jaycees. He was the Area District Governor and the recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award, the highest award the Lions Club can bestow on one of its members. Mike was also a member of the Altus Chamber of Commerce.

Mike is survived by his daughters, Lindsay Davis and husband Paul of Denton, Texas, Paige Cox of Seattle and Sarah Massie of Wichita Falls, Texas; his parents, Don and Jean Massie of Wichita Falls, Texas; a brother, Mark Massie of Euless, Texas; a sister, Donna Eaton and husband Skyler of Wichita Falls; three nieces, Jennifer and Megan Massie of Fort Worth, Texas, and Samantha Eaton of Wichita Falls; and a nephew, Alex Eaton of Wichita Falls.

The family will be at the funeral home Monday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. for visitation.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association for Asthma Research.

Mike loved life and loved to make people laugh. He was very generous and freely gave his time in helping others. Mike will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Anderson

Graveside funeral service for Reba V. Hartman Anderson, 78, Snyder were Saturday in the Fairlawn Cemetery with Rev. Doug Henson officiating.

Mrs. Anderson died Thursday, Aug. 5 in a Snyder Nursing Home.

She was born in Snyder on Dec. 31, 1925 to Robert and May Hartman. She spent much of her life on a farm in the Pleasant Valley Community where she was active in the church and various clubs. She was married to Harold Fred Anderson on October 31, 1942 near Snyder. He preceded her in death on Aug. 2, 1998. The family sold the farm and moved into Snyder in 1982 at which time she became a member of the Snyder Baptist Church.

Prior to her full time retirement, Reba was employed at Weaver Schools. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and preparing Sunday and holiday dinners for her loving family. At the time of her death she was a resident of the Ayers Nursing Home in Snyder.

Survivors include three daughters and sons in law, Sharrel and Troy Thorn of Cache, Sharon and Rod Raasch of Roosevelt and Gladys and David Drews of Snyder; a son, Harold Wayne Anderson of Snyder and seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, special nieces, Avis Woodward and Susan Narvason; special longtime friends, Blanch and Jr. Wilhite and Beat and Eugene Whitaker; her loving Anderson Family, many nieces and nephews and the wonderful caregivers at Ayers Nursing Home.

Her husband of 56 years, parents, three brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.

Memorial contributions may be made to the lawn care fund at the Fairlawn Cemetery, P.O. Box 365, Snyder, OK 73566.

Hugh L. Allred

Age 83, Snyder, Memorial service will be at 1:00 pm Thursday, August 2, 2004 in the Becker Funeral Home Chapel, Snyder, with Rev. Don Barnes, Pastor of the First Assembly of God, Lawton, officiating.

Mr. Allred died Tuesday in a Lawton hospital.

Arrangements are being held under the direction of Becker Funeral Home of Snyder.

He was born March 21, 1921 in Spring City, Utah to Orson Carlos and Hulda Carolyne (Zabriskie) Allred. He married Ula Pupovac on September 6, 1945 in Elko, Nevada. He was a Welder by trade.

Survivors include: his wife, Ula, Children: Arlene and husband Richard Cantrell, Kaysville, Utah; Kathleen and husband Edward Naylor, Lawton, Oklahoma; Corlis and husband Jim Wagner, Lawton, Oklahoma; Patricia and husband Ed Anderson, Snyder, Oklahoma. 9 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Clifford Walter Allred in 1975.

Clara E. Phillips Smith

Age 84, Lawton, Funeral Services will be at 1:30 PM Thursday at the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mike Teel, associate pastor of Cameron Baptist Church officiating.

Mrs. Smith died Monday in a local hospital.

Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

She was born May 7, 1920 in Ada to Dewey and Gladys Lamb Dryden. She married Rev. E. H. Phillips on October 22, 1941 in Hernando, Mississippi. He died July 6, 1970. She married Hugh Smith on June 15, 1988 in Altus. He died in 1999. Mrs. Smith sang in a traveling church trio. She and Rev. Phillips were evangelists and started the Revival Center in Lawton, where they pastored until his death. She retired from Public Service Company of Oklahoma in 1978. Mrs. Smith was a member of First Assembly of God.

Survivors include a son; Larry G. Phillips, of the home, and a granddaughter; Lisa Enix and her husband Randy, Lawton, and two great grandchildren, Amanda Barber and Blake Jackiewicz, both of Lawton.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and a sister.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5700 N. Portland, Suite 203, Oklahoma City, OK 73112.

Freida D. Rogers

Age 83, Lawton, Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm Thursday in the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Tom Willoughby, Associate Pastor, First Baptist Church, officiating.

Mrs. Rogers died Sunday in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Burial will be in Cache Cemetery, Cache, Oklahoma. Mrs. Rogers was born December 8, 1920 in Indiahoma, Oklahoma to Clarence and Mary E. (Blackwelder) McCane. She attended public schools in Lawton and graduated from Lawton High School in 1940. She married Doug Rogers on December 29, 1962 in Lawton, Oklahoma. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lawton from childhood and lived in the Lawton area until April 2002 when she and her husband moved to Edmond, Oklahoma to be closer to family.

She was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone for eleven years as chief night operator. She was a civil service employee at the Fort Sill Post Signal Office as chief operator and retired January 9, 1981 after 30 years of service.

Survivors include her husband of the home; One Son, James M. Bellah and his wife Claudia, Ponca City, OK; Two Grandchildren, Paul Bellah and his wife Janelle, Edmond, OK.; and David Bellah and his wife Jamie, Stillwater, OK; Five Great-Grandchildren, Madison and Mackenzie Bellah, Edmond, OK.; Rachel, Grant and Sydney Bellah, Stillwater, OK; Two Step-Sons, Richard L. Rogers, Colorado Springs, CO; Ronald D. Rogers, Jesup, IA; Five Step-Grandchildren and One Step-Great Grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Paul O. McCane.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund; 501 SW “B” Avenue; Lawton, Oklahoma 73501.

Susie Golden

Age 87, Cyril, Memorial Service will be at 1:30 pm Saturday, February 12, 2005 at the Fletcher Christian Church, Fletcher, Oklahoma with Jim Hall, pastor, officiating.

Mrs. Golden died Wednesday in a Chickasha nursing home.

Services will be under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home of Fletcher, (formerly Robbins Funeral Home).

Mrs. Golden was born on December 5, 1917 in Hickory County, Missouri to Joseph C. and Mary (McDaniel) Herbert. She moved with her family as a young girl from Hickory County, near Wheatland, Missouri to the Fletcher Area. It was there that she met her husband Les Golden. They were married on August 4, 1936 in Lawton, Oklahoma. They lived their lives together in the Fletcher, Sterling, Marlow and Cyril area. Mr. Golden preceded her in death on January 9, 1995. She attended Fletcher schools and was a lifelong member of the Fletcher Christian Church.

Survivors include: two daughters, Frances Ann Sims and husband Joe, Moore, Oklahoma, Elaine Coogle and husband Harry, Moore, Oklahoma: a son, Jimmy Wayne Golden and wife Sandy, Cyril, Oklahoma; 4 grandsons, Joe A. Sims, Yukon, Oklahoma, Ricky L. Sims, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Kevin J. Henderson, El Reno, Oklahoma and Chad M. Coogle, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 3 granddaughters, Kim L. Rhodes, Cyril, Oklahoma, Rhonda Matthews, Moore, Oklahoma and Leslie Golden, Cyril, Oklahoma, 13 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Lucille Golden, Sterling, Oklahoma and many nieces and nephews.

MSG (Retired) Randell C. Spencer

Age 85, Austin, Texas - Services will be 2:00 pm Thursday in the Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Randy Robertson, Pastor, First Baptist Church, Anadarko, officiating.

Sergeant Spencer died Saturday in Austin.

Burial with full military honors will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home.

He was born July 28, 1919 near McAlester, Oklahoma. He grew up in McAlester and moved to west Texas as a young boy. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on January 4, 1938 and was retired on April 30, 1960 at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He was a veteran of both World War II and Korea. Following his retirement he worked for Civil Service at Fort Sill as well as the Schuler Fruit Company.

He married Della Mae Dicks on July 4, 1941 at Plaska, Texas. She preceded him in death on January 28, 1998. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he was a Deacon. He was also a Mason.

Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Ann and Richard Hlista, Austin, Texas; a son and daughter in law, David C. and Dolly Spencer, Redding, California; seven grandchildren, Laurel Hlista, Rebecca Montes and husband Ruben, Randy Spencer and wife Stephanie, Bradley Hlista and wife Justine, Bryan Hlista, Brittan Hlista and Liesel Hlista; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Mady Massey, McAlester, Oklahoma, and Vernice Bruce and husband Noel, Temple, Texas; two brothers, Rutherford Spencer, Houston, Texas, and James Spencer and wife Opal; Ft. Worth, Texas.

A daughter, Shirley Margaret Spencer, preceded him in death.
