Dora H. Kirch Blanken
Former McLoud resident Dora H. Kirch Blanken, 93, died as gracefully as she had lived at the home of her daughter, Carol B. Saenger of Frankfort, Ky.
Her sunrise was Nov. 3, 1913, and her sunset was July 20, 2007.
Dora was born in McCloud to Anna Marie Callies Kirch and Herman August Kirch.
She was married Nov. 25, 1937, to Arthur H. Blanken. She celebrated 65 years of life with him until his death in 2002.
Dora was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, and homemaker. Her gift of hospitality was shared with people coast-to-coast and internationally. Her gift of faith and her support for missions have touched many lives. Although she never recognized her dream of becoming a commissioned missionary, she shared the love of Christ with everyone with whom she came in contact. She was a charter member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ogden, Utah, and helped establish the church's school. She has faithfully attended and joyfully served God in churches in Shawnee; Odgen, Utah; Evanston, Wyo.; Cedar City, Utah; Omaha, Neb.; Hemet, Calif.; and Tucson, Ariz. She supported local churches wherever her life with Art led as he traveled with his work for the Union Pacific Railroad. Together, they enjoyed time with family and friends, travel, golf, bowling, cards, and fishing at Lake Tenkiller.
Daughter, Connie B. (Joseph) Farugia of Tucson, Ariz., also cared for their mother in the years following their father's death.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Edward Kirch and Herbert Kirch; and her sister; Laura Kirch Zito
Other survivors include a brother, Robert (Lois) Kirch, Ogden, Utah; four grandchildren, Michael (Sheryl) Saenger, Atlanta, Ga.; Jeffery (Rene') Saenger, San Antonio, Texas; Stephanie Gervais, Peoria, Ariz.; Jennifer (Jeremy) Waters, Hemet, Calif.; and three step-grandchildren, Carol Farugia, St. Charles, Ill.; Joe D. (Karen) Farugia, Phoenix, Ariz.; and David (Vicki) Farugia, Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; and 21 great-grandchildren. .
Dora is enjoying a new dawn and an eternal life free from the effects of a rare neurodegenerative disease that left her vital mind trapped in a body that gradually lost its power to support movement or life.
A Celebration of Life gathering, honoring Dora and her sister, Laura K. Zito, who died April 10, 2007, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church, Frankfort, Ky., as both sisters whose lives had been intertwined since their birth spend their last earthly days together in Kentucky.
A joint memorial service will be 11 a.m. on August 7, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ogden, Utah, where both sisters were long-time members. A luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall.
Dora Blanken's cremains will be interred at the Memorial Gardens of Wasatch, Ogden, Utah, and Laura Zito's will rest at the Roy Cemetery in Roy, Utah.

Philip W. Peace
Edmond resident Philip W. Peace departed this life on Saturday, July 21, at his residence in Edmond at the age of 86.
He was born on July 7, 1921, in Rossville, Okla. to Howard and Maud (Keck) Peace. He graduated from White Rock High School and then attended A&M College (now Oklahoma State University) for two years.
Philip was drafted and served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946. During his tour, he served under General Patton and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. Upon returning to the states, Philip received his degree in education from Central State College and began teaching in 1948.
He married Minnie Crail on Sept. 10, 1949, in Chandler. Phillip and Minnie moved to Chandler in 1994 and had recently moved to Edmond.
During his teaching career, he taught 13 years in Kendrick, four years in Maud and 20 years in Pond Creek. Philip taught business, drivers education and coached basketball and baseball. He served as Superintendent and Principal. Philip retired in 1985. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, OEA and the United Methodist Church of Chandler.
His parents, four brothers and one sister preceded Philip in death.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Minnie, of the home; two daughters, Phyllis Tipton of Edmond and Vicki Addison of Edmond; one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Cindie of Enid; one sister, Ada Brown of Broken Arrow; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, friends and former students.
Service will 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Chandler with the Rev. Rick Blackwell, the Rev. Sungsu Hwang and Robert Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler under the direction of the Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
Isaac E. Brannon
Longtime Shawnee resident, Isaac E. Brannon, 85, went to be with the Lord July 20.
He was born in Seminole County Aug. 22, 1921, to Robert and Nellie Brannon.
Isaac married Juanita Lawrence Sept. 19, 1941, and spent 45 years together before she died Nov. 2, 1986.
Isaac owned the Elite Cafe BBQ in Shawnee and then worked at Norton Chevrolet, which he retired from after 40 years. He was the City commissioner for 12 years.
Isaac was a member of the American Legion, Masonic Lodge, and the Dunbar Height Community. He loved cooking, and spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Isaac was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Juanita Brannon; son, James O. Brannon, Sr.; and 10 siblings.
He is survived by his son, Isaac O. Brannon, Sr. of Shawnee; sisters, Juanita Brannon of Earlsboro and Beulena Brannon of California; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and other family members.
Service will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Wesley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Donald Boone officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Jerry W Hendrickson
Former Shawnee resident Jerry W Hendrickson, 65, passed away July 20, in Oklahoma City.
He was born March 26, 1942, to Mary and Fred Hendrickson in Shawnee.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Hendrickson; mother Mary Hendrickson; brothers Freddie Hendrickson, Robert Hendrickson, Jimmy Earl Hendrickson and Raymond Hendrickson; and sister JoAnn.
Survivors are mother of his children, Nancy Harvey; daughters, Trina Hendrickson and her two sons, Christian and Brandon of Mustang, Jeanette Boswell and her husband, Duane, and their two daughters, Crystal and Heather of Del City; his sisters, Pat Proctor of Keller, Texas; Rosie Hendricks and her husband, Ted, of Pryor; Hilda Blair and her husband, Del, of Claremore; his brother Lloyd Hendrickson; six nieces; six nephews; 11 great-nieces; and 10 great-nephews.
He was loving father and will be missed.
There will be a private family service.
Daithan Earl Breazeale
Newalla resident Daithan Earl Breazeale died Tuesday, July 24.
Service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Countryside Baptist Church, Newalla, with the Rev. Bob Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery in Dale.
Service is under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah.
Lloy Dean Smith-White
Longtime Seminole resident Lloy Dean Smith-White, died Thursday, July 26, at the age of 72.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Maple Grove cemeterywith the Rev. Allen Wood officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Ray Charley McKee
Ray Charley McKee, 91, of Prague died Friday at his home.
He is survived by hsi wife, Joyce McKee of the home; seven sons, R.C. McKee of Prague, Johnny McKee of Moore, Donald McKee of Oklahoma City, Michael McKee of Tuttle, Larry McKee of Oklahoma City, Jimmie McKee of Tuttle and Joseph McKee of the home; a daughter, Susie McKee of Mustang; three stepdaughters, Donna Johns of Oklahoma City, Janet Garrard of Oklahoma City and Laketha Dees of Shawnee; a stepson, Wesley Choate of Oklahoma City; four sisters, Nora Bell Orr of Okemah, Edith Durham of San Angelo, Texas, Mary McBroom of Bythe, Calif., and Gertie Peters of Woodland; four brothers, George McKee of Prague, Herschel McKee of Prague, Al McKee of Oklahoma City and David McKee of Idaho; 26 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services
are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Little Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Emmons officiating. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
Alfred Dow Henry
Alfred Dow Henry, 56, of Holdenville died Saturday in a Shawnee hospital.
He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and Chuck Reed of Ville Platte, La., Janet and Tommy Herron of Earlsboro and Mahaley and James Hunnicutt of Holdenville; six grandchildren; four brothers, Marvin Henry, Herald Henry, Clayton Henry and James Henry; four sisters, Connie McNeil, Donna Cook, Trish Sizemore and Wanda Hailey; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Hudson-Phillips Chapel in Holdenville with the Rev. Eastman Factor officiating. Burial will follow at Holdenville Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
Allen (Buddy) Truesdell
Shawnee resident Allen (Buddy) Truesdell, 75, died Thursday, July 26, in a local hospital.
Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Central Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.
Eugene Hargreaves Carleton, Jr.
Kiefer resident Eugene Hargreaves Carleton, Jr., 69, passed away Monday, July 9, at his home after a battle with cancer.
Gene was born Feb. 16, 1938, to Eugene Hargreaves Carleton, Sr. and Emmalean (London) Carleton in Shawnee.
He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1956.
He married Diana Jo Albright in Shawnee in 1956.
He was in the U.S. Air Force eight yeas as an aircraft mechanic and an in-flight troubleshooter.
He worked for Dowell in Tulsa and also another business. He was retired and raised horses through the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors are his wife, Diana of the home; children, Carla Cassie and husband, Steve, of Dallas, Texas; David and wife, Vonda, of Sapulpa, and Gina Kirby and husband, Roy, of Kiefer; grandchildren, Brandon Beck and wife, Kathryn, Christina Cassie, Matthew Carleton, Jonathon Carleton, Roy Kriby and Anna Kirby; sisters, Frances and husband, Loren Washburn of Tecumseh.
A private service was held Thursday, July 12, 2007 in the chapel in Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa with Chaplin Craig Gibson officiating.
