Rose Baldwin
Rose Baldwin, of Sunset Heights, Bridgeport, Ohio, died Friday, Nov. 28, 2003 in East Ohio Regional Hospital Long Term Care, Martins Ferry.
Rose was born to the late James and Mary Hornak Hrdlicka at Neffs, Ohio.
She was a licensed practical nurse for the former Ohio Valley General Hospital, Wheeling, retiring from the former Marx Toy Factory, Glen Dale as an industrial nurse. She was a member of the Bellaire Presbyterian Church and a life member of the VFW Auxiliary of Bellaire.
In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her husband Erwin M. Baldwin, Oct. 19, 1987.
Rose is survived by her three daughters, Rosella Anderson of Richmond, Va., Mary Orabella of Columbus, Ohio, Debbie Elliott of Bridgeport, Ohio; her four sisters, Bessie Francl of Luguana, Ca., Mildred Studnicka of Cleveland, Ohio, Ann Sabo and Mary Hostasa both of Shadyside, Ohio; her five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren. Rose is also survived by her "extended" family, Margie Fralick of Cleveland, Ohio, Paul Balgavy of Norfolk, Va.; and six grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside, Ohio on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. where services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Bill N. Lawrence, officiating. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in Greenwood Cemetery, Bellaire, Ohio.
Helen Witthuhn
Helen K. Trupe Witthuhn, 90, formerly of Jacob Street and Warwood Avenue, Wheeling, W.Va., died Friday, Nov. 28, 2003 in East Ohio Regional Hospital.
She was born Oct. 29, 1913 in Bellaire, Ohio, a daughter of the late John Trupe and Julia Bleynek Trupe Yankovic.
She was a former employee of the Hub Department Store and a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Wheeling.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harry R. Witthuhn; two daughters, Connie Langford Fultz and Clara Jean Weyrick; a sister, Jean "Jenny" Oswick; a brother, Matthew Yankovic.
Surviving are two brothers, Jack Yankovic of Medina, Ohio, Paul Yankovic of Pittsburgh, Pa.; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a son-in-law law, John Weyrick of Bellaire.
Friends received 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff St., Wheeling, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, 2003. Interment in Park View Memorial Gardens, Wheeling.
Harry Walker
Harry Walker, 78, Holloway, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003 in East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry.
He was born in Belmont County, Aug. 25, 1925, a son of the late Harry and Olive Van Fossen Walker.
He attended the United Methodist Church in Holloway.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was a brother, Lewis Walker.
Surviving are his caregivers, Gordon, Mickey, Ronnie and Richard Dunlap, with whom he resided in Holloway; several cousins.
Friends will be received at Warren Funeral Home, Flushing, Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 pm with Rev. Al Hodar officiating.
Burial will follow in Rock Hill Cemetery, Flushing.
Andy Manuilow Jr.
Andy Manuilow Jr., 87 of 12th Street, Bellaire, Ohio died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003 at Port Huron Hospital, Port Huron, Mich. He was born Nov. 21, 1916 at Piney Fork, Ohio, a son of the late Andy and Harpino Stephanovich Manuilow Sr.
Andy was retired from the North American Coal Company's #3 mine at Dilles Bottom, Ohio and was a member of the South Bellaire United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II. During the war he served with the legendary First Raider Battalion.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Greenwood Manuilow who on Sept. 21, of 2003 celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary. She passed away on Sept. 25, 2003; two brothers, Alex and Pete Manuilow; a sister, Mary Mundich.
Surviving are two sons, George Manuilow and his wife Linda of Superstition Mountain, Ariz., Frederick Manuilow and his wife Susan of Northstreet, Mich.; a brother, John Manuilow of Groton, Conn.; a sister, Pauline Matoszkia of Dilles Bottom; seven grandchildren; a great grandson and his closest friend, Joe Smith of Shadyside, Ohio.
Andy loved his family, friends, work and football. He especially loved the Bellaire Big Reds, OSU Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. He hated the Steelers.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home, 441 37th St., Bellaire, Ohio where services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m., with Rev. Randy Cetorelli officiating. Burial follows in Powhatan Cemetery, Powhatan Point, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bellaire Big Reds Football Program.
Jerry Yanda
Jerry Yanda, 89, of Dillonvale, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. Jerry was born Aug. 10, 1914 in Dillonvale, son of the late Joseph and Barbora Kominek Yanda.
Jerry was a retired coal miner with Consolidation Coal Co., a member of the Dillonvale United Methodist Church, the Dillonvale, Eagles, the Pine Valley Sportsman's Club and the CSA Lodge 389.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph, Frank and William Yanda and one sister, Helen Paolucci.
Jerry is survived by his wife Rose Kurtz Yanda of Dillonvale; three sons, Jerry Yanda Jr. and his wife Karen of Dillonvale, Larry Yanda and his wife Mary Jo of Steubenville and Danny Yanda and his wife Arlene of Irwin, Pa.; six grandchildren and three great-granddaughters.
Visitation for Jerry will be Tuesday, 5-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 154 Second St., Dillonvale, Ohio, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Betty Hanson officiating. Interment follows at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
Memorial contributions may be made to either the Pine Valley Sportsman's Club or the CSA Lodge 389.
Rose Zigo
Rose M. Rosko Zigo, 89, of Blaine, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, Ohio.
She was born May 8, 1914 in Blaine, Ohio, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Ovecka Rosko.
Rose was Catholic by faith.
In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Zigo in 1997 and two sisters, Irene Tillman and Mary Rosko.
Rose is survived by two sons, George Zigo and his wife Dottie of Brookside and John Zigo of Wheeling; two daughters, Rosemarie Visvary of St. Clairsville and Mary Ann Zigo of Blaine; one sister, Emma Wojick and her husband, John of Blaine; one grandson, Mark Visvary and his wife, Louise of Bridgeport and two step - grandchildren, George and Stephanie Stobbs of Bridgeport.
Friends are invited to attend visitation, Tuesday, 2 to 9 p.m., at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookside, Ohio, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m., with Monsignor Thomas Petronek officiating. Interment follows at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
Thomas E. Gill
Thomas E. Gill, 50, County Road 4, Rayland, Ohio, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003 at the Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, W. Va. He was born Oct. 6, 1953 at Martins Ferry, Ohio, son of the late Louis Alexander and Mary Ann Janis Gill.
He was a professional welder and a musician, attended Smithfield Friends Church, a member of Pine-Valley Sportsman's Club in Piney Fork, and the Indian Club of Tiltonsville, Ohio.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Dombroski Gill; a step - daughter, Melissa Fry, Rayland; a step-son, Sean Rine, Clyde, Ohio; a brother, Louis Gill, Rayland, Ohio; a sister, Caroline Williams, and a nephew, Todd Williams, both of Rayland, Ohio and a niece, Lisa McClements, Wheeling, W. Va.
Visitation, Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, Ohio where services will be held Thursday morning at 11 a.m., with Rev. John Powell and Father Gregary Drahman, officiating. Burial follows at Upland Cemetery, Yorkville, Ohio.
Patricia Bazar
Patricia J. Bazar, born March 28, 1935, beloved housewife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, was called home to rest, Dec. 1, 2003.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Eulah Digman and brothers, Donald and Bernard "Buss" Digman.
Surviving are her husband, Raymond Bazar, Sr.; children, Ramona Howard Fithen and her husband, David, Ricky "Radar" Howard, Melody Banal Donley, Pamela Bazar Stillmack and her husband, Tom, Raymond Bazar Jr., and his wife, Lori, Hayward Bazar and his wife, Teena, Christopher Bazar, Janice Bazar Montes and her husband, Bob; 25 grandchildren and 15 great - grandchildren; a sister, Mary Rager and her husband, Wayne; a brother, Larry Digman; several nieces and nephews and many friends who loved her.
There will be no visitation.

Russell Howell
Russell Lionel "Russ" Howell, 71, Williams Street, Tiltonsville, Ohio, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003 at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling. He was born Aug. 23, 1932 at Bellaire, Ohio, son of the late Russell Dale and Vera Delores Kompart Howell.
He was a retired employee of Ohio Power Cardinal Plant in Brilliant, serving as a Control Tech Foreman, an Army veteran, and a member of the Tiltonsville United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Carl Randall Howell.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley Eden Howell, a son, Russell R. Howell, Warwood, W. Va.; a daughter, Lori Nau and her husband, Kevin, Martins Ferry; a sister, Shirley Ann Cavicchia, Columbus, Ohio; two granddaughters, Lindsay Nicole and Leah Gabrielle Nau.
Friends will be received at the Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, Ohio, Wednesday, 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friends then received Friday from 10 a.m., until time of service at 11 a.m., at the Tiltonsville United Methodist Church with Rev. Thomas Detling officiating.
