Vincent Seibert, restored '37 tow truck
Automobile mechanic Vincent Seibert of Alexandria, Ky., was the third generation to be involved with transportation. His father was a blacksmith turned auto repairman. His grandfather built horse-drawn wagons.
But Mr. Seibert, who owned Vince Seibert Auto Service and Sales, had a passion for it. He enjoyed restoring collector vehicles and was most proud of his 1937 Chevrolet tow truck, which appeared in local parades and won trophies at auto shows.
About two years ago, he learned First Gear Co., a toy manufacturer, would use his truck as the model for an adult collector toy truck. Two years before, another company made a model of a home delivery truck like the ones Mr. Seibert maintained for Louis Trauth Dairy for the 20 years he worked there.
Mr. Seibert died Monday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas, Ky. He was 73.
After retiring from Trauth 15 years ago, he began working full-time in the family business, having worked part-time since 1956.
"He was very friendly, very knowledgeable about what he does and very generous," said nephew Dan Seibert.
Two brothers, Herman "Bud" Seibert and Andrew Seibert, preceded Mr. Seibert in death.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Beck Seibert, with whom he was married nearly 50 years; sisters Rita Ramler of Highland Heights, Ky., Anna Mae Seibert of Fort Thomas, Ky., and Betty Gammon of Fort Thomas, Ky.; and many nieces and nephews.

Norman Miller, respected art dealer
Norman Miller, a respected art dealer who found beauty in the details of life, died Wednesday after a long illness.
Mr. Miller, 71, and his wife of 49 years, Barbara, owned Miller Gallery in Hyde Park and sold art in Cincinnati for 40 years. Their gallery is noted for showing select contemporary and American impressionism art by national and local artists.
Nationally known artists shown include glass sculptor Christopher Ries of Columbus and Cape Code landscapist James O'Neil. Jeremy Sherer Oberle and Beverly Erschell were among local artists supported with art shows.
But the Millers' artistic taste also ranged from selling popular hand-painted cells from animated cartoons, teapots, ceramics and whimsical cat art.
Miller's daughter, Laura Gleason said, "He was allowed, with my mother being such a business person, to be an artist and a creative thinker. He just noticed the details in everything - architecture, animals, food."
Mr. and Mrs. Miller supported the art community, hosting benefits and fund-raising efforts. In 1994, they donated $30,000 from an exhibit of impressionist painter Samuel Edmund Oppenheim to the financially-ailing Cincinnati Art Museum.
They also hosted fund-raising events for the Cincinnati Art Museum, the Art Academy of Cincinnati, the Cincinnati Ballet, the Children's Hospital Medical Center, Hebrew Union College, the Arthur Ashe Foundation for the Defeat of AIDS Inc. and the Isaac M. Wise Temple.
In September 1994, they hosted a show of work by Cincinnati Country Day School staff to benefit of the school's fine art department.
"He was just a very well respected dealer - he and his wife," said Randy Sandler, who runs Cincinnati Art Galleries with his wife, Michele. "Everyone in the community knew them, and they respected them."
Mr. Miller joined his wife in the gallery business shortly after she opened a gallery called the Cellar Door in 1960. Later that decade, it moved to Hyde Park and became Miller Gallery.
"He just always wanted it to feel like his living room," Mrs. Gleason said. "He wasn't a snooty art dealer who was trying to make people feel bad because they didn't get it."
Mr. Miller was also active in the Radio Reading Association for the Blind, Big Brothers and adult literacy tutoring.
"He just got great enjoyment out of everything. You would never have to tell him to stop and smell the roses because he did," Mrs. Gleason said. "He got a kick out of the Maisonette and Old Country Buffet."
Mr. Miller, a graduate of Walnut Hills High School, attended Miami University and the University of Cincinnati. Previous to the gallery business, he was vice president of his grandfather's business, H. Miller Dairy, and also worked for Theodore Mayer and Company Real Estate.
Mr. Miller is also survived by a granddaughter. Memorial service: 2:30 p.m. Friday, Isaac M. Wise Temple, 8329 Ridge Road, Amberley Village. Visitation: 2 p.m. Friday at the temple. Memorials: Fernside Center for Grieving Children, 2303 Indian Mound Ave., Norwood 45212. Arrangements by Weil Funeral Home.
