Albert J. Cutter, Middletown dentist
Dr. Albert J. Cutter was such a popular dentist, patients living in Florida would visit his Middletown office on their return visits to the area.
"There was quite a few families. They had lived in the Middletown area and would come back two or three times a year," said his former dental assistant and office manager of about 20 years, Libby Brown.
Dr. Cutter died Thursday at the VA Medical Center following a stroke he suffered in August. He was 65.
Dr. Cutter retired in 1996 from his dentistry and oral surgeon practice because of failing health.
Despite his long career in dentistry, it was his service as a jet fighter pilot during the
Korean War that he most enjoyed discussing.
"If you ever met him, he would always talk about being a pilot," said Ms. Brown. But Dr. Cutter - who moved from Franklin, Ohio, to Roselawn after his retirement - didn't continue flying after his
military career.
"He said, "No, once you'd been in a jet plane, nothing else could even compare," Ms. Brown said.
He leaves daughters Victoria Kavanaugh and Marre Day, of Cincinnati, and Suzanne Cutter of Chicago; son Albert Cutter of Roselawn; and Ms. Brown, his longtime companion.
