William F. Molodetz began political club
William F. Molodetz, a retired typesetter and a founder of the Colerain Township Democratic Club, died Tuesday at age 87.
Mr. Molodetz lived in White Oak and was a typesetter for the Cincinnati Enquirer. He enjoyed farming and caring for animals as a volunteer at the Farbach-Werner Nature Preserve. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army with the
military police.
Survivors include daughters, Wilma Burbage of White Oak and Carol Zito of Florida; a brother, Carl Molodetz of New York; two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.
Services were Friday at St. James Church in White Oak. Memorials may be sent to charity.

David L. Frazier, Miami professor
David L. Frazier, 67, professor emeritus of English at Miami University, died of cancer Thursday at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Frazier was an instructor at Miami in 1955-57, an instructor at Earlham College in 1957-59 and a teaching assistant and graduate fellow at University of New Mexico in 1959-61. He returned to Miami, joining the English faculty in 1962, and retired in 1994.
He also was a member of Oxford United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Susan M. Frazier, Miami student affairs administrator emerita; sons, Kent Frazier of Amelia and Bruce Frazier of Sidney, Ill.; daughters, Connie Malone of Oxford and Denise Babyak of Irvine, Calif.; his mother, Gertrude "Trudy" Frazier of Richmond, Ind.; a sister, Virginia Fulle of Richmond, Ind.; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Oxford United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Smith and Ogle Funeral Home, Oxford. Memorials are suggested to the cancer support group at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital or to the college and youth program at Oxford United Methodist Church.

James A. Collins, collected food for poor
James A. Collins' mission of mercy was to keep a food pantry stocked for the Erlanger-Elsmere United Ministries in Kentucky.
Over the years, Mr. Collins and others also helped construct a new building for the ministry and each day went to local grocery stores to collect overstocked food to give to the needy.
Mr. Collins believed in putting others first, said a son, Stephen A. Collins of Cincinnati. Mr. Collins died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood at age 75.
Mr. Collins, a manager for CSX Railroad, had moved to Northern Kentucky in 1979. While living previously in Selma, Va., he founded and was the first president of the Selma Volunteer Fire Department.
Other survivors include his wife, Marjorie Collins; daughters, Sue Ellen Halbeisen and Sharon Yung, both of Cincinnati, and Margie A. Bauer of Lakeside Park; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Earl W. Murphy, political voice
Earl W. Murphy did not take lightly his role in the legislative process in Northern Kentucky.
The Erlanger man was passionate about state politics and routinely wrote to his state and Congressional representatives to offer his opinions on issues.
"He wrote to them about anything he didn't think was right or wanted them to approve," said his wife Rose.
Mr. Murphy died at 9:50 a.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit in Covington. He was 78.
The retired machinist had worked for the Avery-Cross Co. in Covington for more than 30 years. He eventually became president of the company's union. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was stationed in the South Pacific. He was a member of Elsmere American Legion Post No. 20 and St. Henry Church in Elsmere.
Other survivors include sons, Dennis Murphy of Elsmere and Timothy Murphy of Florence; daughters, Patricia Kelly of Cincinnati, Joyce School of Florence and Donna Huesing of Edgewood; a brother, James Murphy of Jeffersonville, Ind.; sisters, Louise Hoskins of Dayton, Ohio, and Eileen Hurst of Paradise, Calif.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Catchen and Son Funeral Home, Elsmere. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Memorials: to St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, 401 E. 20th St., Covington, Ky. 41014.
