Gilson Wright, professor
Longtime journalist and professor Gilson P. Wright, 92, of Oxford, Ohio, died Saturday.
He was professor emeritus of English at Miami University and once was known as the "one-man journalism faculty." The former newspaper reporter was a longtime adviser to the Miami Student newspaper and directed the university's news bureau in the 1950s.
He leaves daughters Marilyn Stork of Delaware, Ohio, and Barbara Reed of Oxford; son Robert B. Wright of Oxford; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services: 2 p.m. today at Smith and Ogle Funeral Home, Oxford. Visitation: 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mary Anderson LaBach, of Woodlawn
Mary Anderson LaBach, of Woodlawn, a retired apartment manager, died Sunday.
Ms. LaBach, 78, was the mother of Cincinnati Post classical music columnist Mary Ellyn Hutton. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Lexington, Ky., the Lexington Rose Society and Lexington Kennel Club. Ms. LaBach, a native of Lexington, also bred Maltese dogs, but gardening was her passion, said Mrs. Hutton.
She also leaves sons, William Anderson LaBach of Lexington and James Parker LaBach of Overland Park, Kan.; sister, Lucy Anderson Jones of Lexington; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Arthur J. Lindeman, served school district
Arthur J. Lindeman, a 16-year member of the Erlanger-Elsmere Board of Education in Northern Kentucky, died Wednesday. He was 97.
Mr. Lindeman, 97, of Elsmere, worked at Rauh Shirt Co. in Cincinnati for 37 years and was retired from Singer Sewing Machine Co. He had served eight years as chairman of the school board. An elementary school bears his name.
He leaves his wife, Gladys; sons Larry and Glen; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Albert Duff, 102, WWI veteran
Albert Duff Sr., of Elsmere, Ky., worked hard all his life as a steelworker, sawmill laborer and bus driver.
But a tough life didn't mean a short one. Mr. Duff, who died Wednesday, lived to age 102.
A son credited Mr. Duff's long life to clean living and keeping his mind and body active.
"He never drank or smoked. He worked hard all his life, and I took good care of him."
The World War I veteran enjoyed traveling, doing woodwork and fixing guns.
"If there was an old gun part that was no longer made, he would take a piece of steel and make the part," his son, Albert Jr., said. Mr. Duff hunted until he was 98 years old.
Other survivors include daughters, Lucille Laird of Laguna Beach, Calif., and Virginia Chick of Seal Beach, Calif.; three grandchildren and four great- grandchildren.
Services: 1 p.m. Saturday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. No visitation is scheduled.
