Ramona Bailey, Bible student
Ramona Jean Bailey, a second-year student at Louisville Bible College, died Friday in an automobile accident in Taylorsville, Ky.
Ms. Bailey, 19, of Taylorsville, Ky., formerly of Covington, had planned to be a ministerial counselor.
She had attended John G. Carlisle Elementary School in Covington and was a graduate of Covington Holmes High School. She remained a member of the Main Street Methodist Church in Covington.
"I haven't been told much about the accident, but I understand she was alone after taking a friend to work. I think the weather conditions had something to do with it," said Miss Bailey's mother, Linda Bailey, of Covington.
In addition to her mother, survivors include her father, Earl Lee Bailey Sr. of Erlanger, Ky.; brothers, Earl Lee Bailey Jr., Michael G. Bailey and Aaron Bailey, all of Covington; and grandparents, Viola Bailey and Juanita Cox, both of Covington.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

William Reed, retired sheriff's deputy
William F. "Bud" Reed was a 20-year Navy veteran who was stationed at Pearl Harbor when it was bombed in World War II and later served in the
Korean War.
He went on to join the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department and never lost his
military bearing.
"He was always very
military-like," said his granddaughter, Helen Reed.
"He was very well-organized. He liked things to be right."
Mr. Reed, 79, of Bridgetown, died Friday.
Even after retiring from two careers in the Navy and as a deputy sheriff, Mr. Reed remained extremely active.
He returned to Pearl Harbor for the 50th anniversary of the bombing.
"He was always on the go," said Ms. Reed. "He was not one to sit at home. He loved to play golf and he liked to travel.
"He would go to Florida for several weeks every winter to play golf," she said.
Mr. Reed was a charter member of Miamiview Golf Club in Miamitown. He also was keenly interested in helping his five grandchildren.
"He encouraged us to go to college and always pushed us kids to make something of ourselves," said Ms. Reed.
Mr. Reed was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, the Elks and the Fleet Reserve Association.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Flora Reed, and his son, William L. Reed.
He leaves his companion, Dorothy Frey; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Neidhard-Minges Funeral Home, Westwood. Visitation: noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Raymond Farnham, coached at UC
Former University of Cincinnati baseball coach W. Raymond Farnham, 91, died in Lexington, Ky., Oct. 16.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Friday at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Terrace Park.
He coached at UC from 1944-1946 and taught history and coached football at Walnut Hills High School from 1944-1967.
The longtime Mariemont resident remained active at the Indoor Tennis Club, where he was a charter member, and continued to play golf until he was 90, said daughter, Lindsey Farnham Ein.
He taught canoeing, fishing and outdoor camping during the 1950s at resorts in northern states. He also officiated high school football and baseball games.
Mr. Farnham retired from the camping business in 1959 to become manager of the Indian Hill Swimming and Tennis Club. After 15 years as manager, he joined Comey and Shepherd Realtors.
Mr. Farnham graduated from Marietta College in 1928, where he played football, baseball and baseball. He earned a master's degree in education from the Ohio State University.
Mr. Farnham also leaves three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Memorials: St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Terrace Park, or the Alzheimer's Association.

Carl R. Korte, plumber and Realtor
Carl R. Korte, 80, owner of Carl R. Korte Plumbing Co. and a Realtor, died Sunday. He was a Western Hills resident.
Mr. Korte was a master plumber, and owner of the business for 35 years. At age 70, he graduated from Southern Ohio College after studying real estate law and appraisal. He got his real estate license, and worked for Coldwell Banker.
He was an active member of the Home Builders Association of Cincinnati and Westwood Athletic Club. Mr. Korte also was a Kentucky Colonel, a member of St. Antoninus Church and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
He leaves his wife, Ruth Thoman Korte; daughters, Carol Ferguson and Donna Korte; a son, Greg Korte; and seven grandchildren.

William Luken, owned business, horse farm
William J. "Bill" Luken of Western Hills, co-founder and former president of Vivi-Color Engraving Co., died Saturday at Hospice of Cincinnati, Blue Ash.
Mr. Luken was brother of former congressman and Cincinnati City Council member Tom Luken. Mr. Luken and his wife, Jenny, also owned and operated the Jendalu Thoroughbred Horse Farm for 20 years in Clermont County.
Mr. Luken served in the U.S. Marines during World War II, spending time at Guadalcanal.
He also leaves daughter, Dana Luken Hollaender; sister, Jane Schoenling; two other brothers, Jack and Dick Luken; and two grandchildren.
