Thelma Kelton Tobin, loved music, words
Thelma Kelton Tobin will be remembered for her love of music and way with words.
Mrs. Tobin, the past president of the Mt. Auburn Music Club, died Friday at Hospice of Cincinnati in Blue Ash. The Cincinnati woman was 88.
"She had a lot of talent - a way with words - in speaking before groups and organizing things," recalled Mrs. Tobin's niece, Mary Lee Kelly.
She was a member of the National Federation of Music Clubs and the Cincinnati Symphony Club. She also was past program chairwoman of the Greater Cincinnati Christian Women's Club.
Mrs. Tobin, a retired legal secretary, belonged to the Daughters of the American Revolution and had a keen interest in genealogy, Mrs. Kelly said.

Rev. Earl Laverne Edwards, longtime pastor
The Rev. Earl Laverne Edwards, longtime pastor of St. Luke United Methodist Church in Covington, died Sunday from injuries suffered in an accident.
Rev. Edwards, 70, was working on some rental property when an employee fell from a ladder onto the pastor and fatally injured him.
"He was a loving, thoughtful, Christian man," said his wife of 50 years, Margaret Edwards. "He was the finest man that ever walked the face of the earth."
Rev. Edwards, who was a Navy veteran, also leaves daughters, Earline Spencer, Cheryl Koller, Charlotte Edwards and Dr. Melissa Edwards; brother, Lowell Edwards; sisters, Pauline Bartos and Grace Hogg; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services: 2 p.m. Thursday at Erlanger United Methodist Church, Erlanger. Visitation: 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke's. Arrangements: Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Taylor Mill, Ky.

Sydney A. Warm, of Warm Bros.
Sydney A. Warm, retired chief executive office of Warm Bros. Inc., died Tuesday at age 90.
Since retiring in 1980 to Boca Raton, Fla., Mr. Warm and his wife, Eleanor, had spent summers in Cincinnati to be close to their children and grandchildren.
He was a driving force behind Warm Bros. Construction Co. and several related real estate companies now run by his sons, Alex and Stuart.
Among the more memorable projects he directed were the distilleries for Seagram in both Louisville, Ky., and Lawrenceburg, Ind.; the entire Nutone plant, as well as the design and construction of several hundred buildings throughout Greater Cincinnati.
A graduate of Hughes High School and Harvard Law School, Mr. Warm was a U.S. Navy lieutenant commander in the Mediterranean during World War II.
After returning home, he joined his father, Jacob, in the family construction business, then known as J & E Warm Construction Co.
Other survivors are brothers, Herbert Warm of Las Vegas and Louis Warm of Cincinnati; and seven grandchildren.
Although funeral services are private, visitation will be 7 p.m. Thursday at his home.
Arrangements are through Weil Funeral Home, North Avondale.
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be sent to Hospice of Cincinnati, Children's Hospital or a charity of choice.
